It's based on a pretty ok book.
I agree.
The book was corny, and goofy as hell, but that's why I liked it.
>Ok
Whil Wheaton becomes president of the US
...
>normie
Don't kid yourself, you're a normalfag just like them.
...
Is that a Halo assault rifle?
This movie must be a licensing nightmare.
What's wrong with it?
Answer me without using a single buzzword or meme.
How "I'm so nerdy" is this?
My favorite parts of the book are when he just lists off references one after another. Feels super genuine and not forced at all.
Tell me you're lying.
Is that sarcasm?
A film seems like a more natural environment for gathering up a bunch of film references since everything just shows up on screen and your imagination isn't left with a bunch of blanks on the things you don't recognize. Even if you don't know who the Iron Giant is when you see it on screen it tells you a world more than just name dropping it in a book can.
Maybe the adaptation will correct this shitty concept by just turning it into a big movie mashup.
The author lives and breathes nerd "culture", it's pretty sad.
It looks like an really epic movie to me with a lot of awesome references that are really old.
Why would anyone hate it?
>ERNEST CLINE'S HOLY GRAIL OF POP CULTURE
ie. Pop culture
so it's just another summer flick, why the fuck are we making threads about this gay ass medium.
Because we have enough of those already.
No, he becomes ambassador for the OASIS.
Feels like most any conversation with my geek friends.
>thought thinks
Doesn't seem like a terrible movie
>The 80's was a long decade (10 whole years)
I agree that this seems very forced, but fuck you, Scott Pilgrim is a fantastic movie.
never post on this board ever again.
Go back to tumblr, normie.
...
This. Then again I'm sure a lot of Sup Forums is THAT guy that's trying to be cool and liked so he list pop culture references to things people like in order to make them like him. "See!? Hey I like that thing you also like, like me!"
Instead this just has the opposite effect.
I`m sorry for raping you
How would it take longer than two weeks to go through DEVO's discog? I love DEVO, but shit, all their songs are simple as fuck.
Wasnt that basically Wreck It Ralph and Pixels?
>make VR facebook
>call it a game
The only time this has worked is in Summer War, and it was because japanese know heir shit
Just marathoned the trailer. what did i think of it?
I hate this fucking book. I buy one goddamn "video game book" and all my audible recommendations are completely fucked now.
The book itself is mediocre too.
I SAW THE DELOREAN AND I CLAPPED
I'm sure someone will let that fictional character know that you're concerned about them.
Look at the schnoz on that kike.
you made him delete his post, faggot. Apologize right fucking now!
Inb4 someone mentions Otherland
Ps
You should really read Otherland
About a "Starring role in a documentary about Atari E.T."/10
What the fuck? This looks like a Transformers movie...
It looks like The Big Bang Theory of movies
I clapped when i saw the delorean
>buying "video game book"
Your own fault
What's Otherland?
is that guy jewish?
I returned the damn thing and got my credit back. I had no idea it was going to literally be about nothing but references.
A book series from the 90's by Tad Williams about VR. It's pretty fun.
Dickwolves are the best thing PA has done in years.
>This movie must be a licensing nightmare.
It's not if you're one of the guys.
>tfw I auditioned for this movie
I thought the title was a placeholder.
REEEEEEE normies
am i doing it rite xd
really? if you auditioned your an actor right? Have you been in anything?
He does have that Jeff Goldblum look going on, doesn't he?
This really just feels like brand management from WB for a lot of their "geek culture" properties. Lego Batman ended in a kind of out of place pop culture show down thing that raised my eye brows at the time. Hey, what a great way to shove our dormant brands back into the popular consciousness so we can decide what to reboot and remake next!
I'm getting so fucking sick of this nerd culture pride.
Most likely an extra
No.
>I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW ________________
I really liked them in Tank Girl.
I wish I could tell you I was someone rich and famous, but Im just starting in acting.
there was an open audition and I sent in a video (which I guess must have been terrible since I had no one else to read lines with) Digital auditions are annoying as fuck.
I ended up making my own short film that I sent in to the LA shorts fest. It didn't get accepted.
Just got to keep trying I guess. Tho finding auditions on sites like backstage and cast it talent can get expensive so I had to forego those options.
I have no idea what to do now.
Will this be the "Avatar" for the VR industry?
change your name for a jewish one
It doesn't upset me but I have no desire to see it either.
It's kind of realistic that a virtual reality has a lot of pop cult shit in it, but it would also had way more anime and furfaggotry in it.
Don't assume. Never assume.
you don't have to audition as an extra. background work is like a temp job. if you have the right look they call you and ask if you're available. usually need your own clothes unless its a period piece.
Watching this movie on a theater must be painful, I'll just torrent it.
I don't think I'm jewishy enough in the face. I'm more like a taylor laugtner type.
ugh, sheesh. haven't heard from him in a while.
>if you have the right look
You have to be tall don't you?
What?
for background work? nah. they take anyone mostly.
unless the project specifically asks for tall people, but that never happens. actors are not that tall to begin with so they might not want the extras to be too noticeable.
Pure rubbish
>the 80's were 10 years ago
the better to tickle a clit with
Meh, though i've heard that th book isn't bad, the fact that it throws every single reference to every "nerdy" thing possible makes me want to barf
I did background work for 2 years and literally anybody can get into it. We often had the same few 14 year olds with their tanked out dad sitting in the extra tent waiting to be call on set. Became a running gag between a few of us regulars because those 14 year olds would always flirt around with older guys and get them to bring booze(which would then get the guys kicked off set). Looky but dont touchy. Not that their dad cared, probably never knew where he was.
