Japan doesn't make strategy games.
I play whatever is good, and it just so happens most of the games I've thought were good enough to play lately were japanese
The thing about japan is that they are very slow to pick up new concepts, but they pick them up effectively, so although they were behind the west for quite a few years, they slowly caught up while the west didn't really do anything new, now they are doing what western games were doing 6-ish years ago, but they are doing them much, much better than those games did. The problem is that they are going to linger there for a long time, and in several years it may go back to the way it was, with japan not innovating itself, but rather innovating ideas from western games into superior versions of those ideas
All in all I'm happy to wait for great games than to get lots of mediocre games immediately
