Thats not how it works for me OP. There are plenty of games that I like, and although there are some I like more than others, usually it's not fair to just say, "I like this". So you like something a lot, but you like something from a different genre thats equally as intersting. You can't say that one of thise game are your favroite, not only because they're both equally liked, but they're liked for different reasons. So far for metroidvanias, both hollow knight and ori have been absolute wonders to me, but I've always LOVED super mario galaxy, which is a 3d platformer. At the same time, pokemon heartgold is also one of my favorite games, but its a turn based rpg, so you can't just blatantly say that its better because it has key defining trait s that are different from the other games that I've listed that I like. I could go on for houra, but I think you get the idea
