>you will never protect Chiaki's smile

Did someone say despair?
Our lives were always meaningless.
Mah man!
:(
>the moment you realize it's not a cutscene
>video game
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH
yeah :( i always let her go as soon as the option comes up so that never happens again ;_;
>not using the unofficial patch so you can just tell her to stay inside
Step it up, Kindred
> not saving your mistress
lol
I think that only works on the plus version? I just stick with basic. It feels more fitting for me to have to make her leave anyway.
s-sauce?
You can see the exact second her heart breaks.
What is this?
true despair
I thought it worked on the basic version too? I honestly don't remember, it's been too long since I played without the Plus version.
>It feels more fitting for me to have to make her leave anyway.
True, but it's too heartbreaking for me unless you're a Malkavian. I just want to live with my cute ghoul forever

Should be a Pixiv account there too.
Much appreciated, that's some good stuff.
...
I think it's only in the plus version unless it's a bug that was fixed in basic. I didn't want to risk her to see if telling her to stay inside worked again, because I remember trying it a long time ago and she still died :(
Great, I wake up and the first thing I see on Sup Forums fills me with incoherent rage. Thanks and also fuck you.
Goofy's death in KH2.
;_;
More kekworthy like this but IRL I'd sell the game off immediately if that happened.

Game?
Steins;Gate 0
Shouldn't it be normal to use gender neutral pronouns when you are unsure about their gender? Comsidering the masks and cloaks and all.

What?
Anything from fata morgana or umineko. Umineko is a rollercoaster of despair. You know when some good moment lasts longer than 5 minutes, shit will get bad for another 10 hours.
Also DR´s main theme is despair
What the FUCK
I second this.
Umineko is 100% meta, it's completely impossible to feel bad for any of the characters when they're shown to not be real people.
I don't understand
...
Your stat increase is random. They got uber bad luck and pulled zeros on all of them
...
But thats the saddest part actually. Ange and battler created their own fantasy to deal with their parents killing off their entire family. Imagine dreaming about the whole umineko story and then waking up. Nigga Im crushed when I have a dream about having a gf and wake up. Imagine how battler must feel.
deserved it tbqh
this. Diary of ellen explains how she just wanted to look like a good person and didnt like her actually. Typical woman behaviour
...
>despair thread
>winds up being random VN gore bullshit or forced indie """drama"""
Who woulda thunk. Next someone is going to post Life is Strange.
You want to actually play a game that makes drama into something noteworthy, you play shit like this punch to the gut so that you can enter years long depression and life-pondering seasons.
...
I think he meant it's not from 0 but the original.
...
That hit me hard after everything else that happened.
...
>It's almost time for dinner. Your mother will be home shortly. What? She won't? Why? What did you do to her? What? I did it? She won't be home? Who are you? What did you do? It's time for dinner.

I dont understand. The game was so rushed and uneven and yet that fucking camp scene shot me in the fucking heart.
When you're first thrown out of the vault in Fallout 1 and you have no idea of anything that's out in the wasteland, and this song plays.
youtube.com
Literally made me quit the game after I ran into a pack of ghouls and I basically no damage to them.
Damn shame that End of Hopes Peak high was disappointing overall.
HE TURNED US INTO FUCKING KILLERS
Honestly, the game was a solid 8/10 for me, but this scene cemented it forever in my mind. I didnt care about the rushed parts or the questions I had.
This was the perfect fucking end.
game?
You didn't deserve this.
What are some good games I can emulate or probably already own on steam that have some real drama? I'm going through a low-key existential crisis lately after realising nothing at all is giving me emotional reactions so I really need to test if I still feel shit. Ideally games that aren't too long but if it has to be long so be it.
I know this sounds edgy but pls im srs, I want to feel
Try Bastion if you haven't.
Approaching it like a dream isn't the right way to do it. The real Battler never "dreamed" of the meta world at all, the meta world never crossed his mind. It's not really even in the context of the universe, only the reader sees it. The closest thing someone comes to dreaming it is Yasu, Ange, and Maria believing in magic but no one in the real world "saw" or even thought about the shit like battler debating beatrice, bern, and all that shit.
NITW
...
James...you made me happy.
Obligatory Undertale suggestion, I guess.
More seriously: To The Moon is heartbreaking.
Transistor as well. The combat might take a while to get used but the story is fantastic.
I don't have a pic, but when Ada dies in RE2. It made you feel like the whole city was collapsing around you.
>the bad ending is so bad it retroactively makes the good ending also bad
FUCK
Because that camp scene was The Scene. That was what they made the whole game about. Four bros on a road trip and their bond with each other. That was always the pitch.
All the kings and crystals and the rescued princess and the time travel and shit was what the focus testers wanted to see added to help sell the game. Magic and drama and political intrigue and the fate of the world, that's what Final Fantasy is supposed to be about.
But the original game concept was a coming of age story about four guys on a road trip bonding and learning about themselves. Which is why that scene is the true emotional climax of the game, because making it feel that way has been what every aspect of the game was building up to.
Nier Automata gave my some heavy feels during ending E
Real talk though, this is the most serious suggestion I'll make in my entire life. Umineko, the first half is on steam but you can just pirate the whole thing if you want. I'd recommend with the original sprites and without voice acting, but you can play it however you'd like.
Seriously, play it. It's very end but it's also the best piece of fiction I've ever experience. Once I got to the end I cried from the bottom of my heart.
>Nier Automata gave my some heavy feels during ending E
lmao no
Very long* sorry pretty tired right now.
...
I guess you haven't even seen both endings of this game. That's where the real despair is.
Or maybe the real despair hides in the fact that Bethesda will never make a good Fallout game. Not a retarded amusmement park, but a dark and atmospheric "A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game".
after punpun and NGE nothing can him me hard enough anymore
mild sadness in my maximum and everything that's not sad enough just makes me frustrated
I can't relate to any of posts in this thread but OP.
>peace day never came
It was mostly the idea of people sacrificing their hard work (their data) to help other people save the in game characters. I know it doesn't really work like that but the idea of it got to me.
I also have a pretty big weak spot for artificial intelligence gaining sentience through emotion so the pod's dialogue during the credits hit me hard.
Play either the first Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy IX all the way through to the end.
both can be emulated fairly easily.
>him me hard enough
*hit
fffuck alcohol
But punpun had a happy ending
The fuck is this? Babies' first storyline thread or some shit?
Come the fuck on.
Bunch of pussies here getting sad over dumb shiy lmao
Why don't you recommend some stuff then
Whats it from though?
[spoilers] Don't you have anything better to do? [/spoilers]
...
thats some really bad samefacing
or this
Both hit me pretty fucking hard. More Edda, sure, but still
there's nothing to recommend, all storytelling in vidya ranges from shit to passable/mediocre
ctrl+s
never has there been a more appropriate time for
>despair but also a boner.
Doesn't work if you hit the 'post a reply' button at the top of bottom. Ctrl+s tries to save the page if you do that. And when you're mobileposting, but those scum deserve every bit of embarrassment they get.

video... games?
muvluv is so fucking edgy god damn
is it just waifus getting brutally murdered by aliens every single time?
