try Bloodborne
age of empires 2 maybe or starcraft: brood war
Do you have a good processor?
Dwarf Fortress
These threads are retarded. It totally depends on what type of games you like.
This isn't consoles where everyone just has to circlejerk 1-2 games because that's all there is
Overwatch, Diablo 3, Dawn of War III, Tekken 7, The Witcher 3.
Also try Momodora, Rabi Ribi, Blue Revolver and CrossCode even though they don't have GRAFIXXX
>This isn't consoles where everyone just has to circlejerk 1-2 games because that's all there is
Yeah pretty much this, on PC you have every genre covered, there are dozens of games coming every week, just tell us what genres do you like.
>gimme some pc games i should play
doto3 new meta and other tales of faggotry and space cancer. by volov
any game you fucking retard, its not a hard question
oh i forgot to mention overwatch, ill def get that. and i current have D3, into those thanks. DoW3 looks great i didnt know about this one
EDF 4.1
Get DoW I, it's much better
it's all just some retarded joke. just look at the picture and read the text.
>hehe recomend games
ill look into those, thanks*
Arma 3 and Civ 6 are both good choices. Continuing the apparent theme of games you can play native on GNU/Linux
XCom 2
Dirt Rally
Total War (Warhammer, Shogun 2, etc)
Dawn of War 3
Mad Max (Linux exclusive Vulkan version)
...
Most PC games are low spec visually unimpressive (LoL, Diablo, Overwatch, CSGO etc) shit because they need to appeal to the majority of PC owners, you're best playing some multiplates if you want some pretty graphics.
I love how when it comes to Consoles VS PC wars
everyone memes about PC's costing $500 to build, or at the very worst $800 (but no one goes that high)
But whenever I see a thread about a newborn PCfag the cost is always in the $1100-1200 ballpark (the REAL price of entry to a decent PC)
Can't you PCMR guys just stop pretending like anyone in the world would actually build a "console killer" $400 PC build? Just admit the best price-to-performace ratio is slightly above $1000, there's no problem in that. Your e-peen won't shrink if you're honest, you know?
as a pc gamer I speak on behalf of everyone to gtfo with your leddit maymays
>shitpost threads with the same image and 'recommend me some games but I wont tell you what genres I like' use inflated price numbers
woah really makes you think
no joke friend ;) ill see you online soon
is the pc version of xcom any different? I have it on ps4 when it was free but i saw my friend play on pc and looked much different and way better, i couldnt even play the console one after
yea i mean i ran my build through a few different people and they said i should be set for ~5 years and will prob need to upgrade the gpu first.
yea i ended up going with a 525 gb SSD on top of the 1TB HDD, so i mean i couldve gone a little cheaper but fuck it i wanted to run everything on ultra for a while. that price didnt include a monitor, i might invest in a 4k one in the future and just do 1080 for a while
No, its because people who aren't experienced tend to overestimate their needs, and don't pay attention to the people like me who tell them no more than $800 for a first time build.
i spent a long time choosing parts and talked to multiple people, no way you can get a build from scratch that can run everything maxed for 800
>is the pc version of xcom any different?
Can't really say since I haven't played it on console, but there are a number of really good mods for it and there's a major expansion that's about to drop.
Runs great on the Mesa RadeonSI driver though.
Some more
Doom
Resident Evil 7
Nier Automata
Tales of Berseria
Danganronpa 1, 2 and Ultra Despair Girls
Zero Escape
Killer Instinct
Prey
This. Its a souls game. Totally not a tired fad.
>he fell for the PC master race meme
>Nier Automata
Broke on PC
This guy gets it.
Define 'run everything maxed' because that's a moving target and often results in poor long term choices.
Its much better to start out with a reasonable goal like "I want to run these three games at this resolution and I need to be able to do these other things"
A $600 system is perfectly reasonable for most people especially if you already have some easily reused parts laying around (case, psu, hdds, etc).
My last major upgrade got me a i7 6700k, an RX 480, a new motherboard and 16GB of memory for about $650, but that was before some of the prices went crazy.
If you liked D3 you should try Grim Dawn
Nope, with the FAR fix (copy and paste) you get 1080p 60 fps on a regular computer, way better than both PS4 and PS4 Pro.
But that's a silly "chicken before the egg" logic. Usually when PC prices come up so does the topic of the convenience of consoels VS PC. For example the console fanboy says you just need to buy a system and you're done, while the PC fanboy says that building a PC is as easy as playing with Legos.
The problem is that anyone who's new to PCs (or generally bought pre-made builds) won't have all the know-how to buy the cheapest and best parts, or simply not live in an area where those parts are available.
So yes, if you are already proficient PC building and you already spent dozens of hours on forums and imageboards discussing about PC parts, in-depth comparisons, best deals, how much a second-hand part for X and Y should cost, etc, then you will be able to make a PC as good as OP's for $300 or $400 less, however you are in no way the target of this discussion.
The whole point is that for someone NEW to PC gaming the golden price is about $1200. You can't expect that person to be an expert and make 0 mistakes with his part choices, he might over-budget on a MOBO and CPU for example, neither should you expect that person to buy any used parts.
Gothic II is fucking great, the mods are amazing too.
>Nope,
Oh, so it's NOT broke-
>with the FAR fix
Alright so the user was 100% correct and Nier Automata is obviously broken as shit on PC, to the point where you need a fan mod to fixe some (but not all) of its issues.
You just proved him right.
whatever you do, dont listen to if youre going to get Nier, get it for your PS4, unless youre a Talesfag avoid Berseria and unless you like visual Novels, avoid Danganronpa.
Look in to Squad, that might be more your thing based on what youve said, though I don't know how active it is. Maybe some Total War and Stellaris if you have people to play with
>4k monitor
Not such thing, you see, TVs have a huge input delay and will probably burn your eyeballs if you use one from too close. From now you will be lucky to have a 2k monitor and that's expensive as fuck but it's more than enough, 4k is a useless meme and you can already do supersampling for antialiasing.
How is it broken when you can get it to run even better than consoles with no problems.
I mean yeah in a world where that fix doesn't exist or you're too retarded to download anything you might have a point, but we don't live in that world.
then PS4 version was broken to begin with
>if youre going to get Nier, get it for your PS4
Unless he has a PS4 Pro, the game is way better on the PC. And even with a PS4 Pro the game is just the same as PC but without the benefits of PC.
The older PC games are probably all you're going to play honestly. Maybe GTAV I guess? I dunno, modern games don't interest me much. Most recent shit I love is New Vegas and Hotline Miami. Hotline Miami is definitely much better on PC than console because of the controls. Sonic Mania is also coming soon and that looks great. Be sure to download the Dolphin Emulator for GC and perhaps Wii games if any of those interest you. PCSX2 also for PS2 exclusives like Katamari and DQVIII.
It's not like there's a huge graphical or performance difference to begin with. It's just a direct console port on PC, stuff like shadow distance is still laughable because they barely improved on anything. You can put every setting on "ultra" on PC but you'll still be stuck to obvious console limitations.
And boy, it really looks like you weren't there on launch. I got Nier Automata a full month before the PC version came out and I personally witnessed dozens upon dozens of PC Anons getting heavily spoiled and mad as shit, then the PC version came out and was as broken as it is now (with no mod yet) so even the few PC Anons that managed to avoid spoilers were FORCED to go to Nier Automata threads to find fixes for the plethora of issues and crashes on PC - and needless to say they saw spoilers.
It was a wild ride, fun to watch but I wouldn't want to be a Taro fan and not own a PS4 around Nier:A's launch, that's for sure.
Why? The resolution scale never fucked up on PS4, the cutscenes were never 5fps-tier choppy on PS4. Everything worked flawlessly outside of the obvious FPS drop on intensive gameplay, as per usual with Platinum games. I'd much MUCH rather get the game 1 month earlier spoiler-free and have a flawless experience than get it 1 month late, not be able to play it, get spoiled, and then wait even more for a fan mod.
The game runs better than it does on PS4 even without FAR. FAR just adds insult to injury.
>Why? The resolution scale never fucked up on PS4,
Because it's already locked to 900p lol. PC has uncapped FPS. You're right about some cutscenes but that's the only issue. Console version is buggier with worse visuals and performance when you're actually playing the game.
And with FAR you have much better graphics, texture mods, an uncapped FPS, and more.
>don't get spoiled even though I was excited as fuck for the game, look tons of threads, never felt spoiled
>pirate Nier Automata like 1 or 2 months after release
>download FAR and play it perfectly with my Xbone controller
I feel bad for all your suffering but it's been good to me, it is specially good now.
You're so full of shit. What is your problem, why are you so salty you got the inferior version of the game?
Nier Automata isn't even good nor as a Platinum game nor as a Yoko Taro game.
>recommend game on PC
>some Sony fanboy gets triggered
Never fails.
What did he mean by this post?
PC gaming is a joke.
>Buying a new PC comparable to a console costs twice as much
>You have to deal with Windows and endless bugs, glitches, and updates
>There hasn't been a good PC exclusive in over 10 years
>PC always has the worst versions of multiplats unless it's a rerelease of an old game you've already played
>Worst online communities, any game with multiplayer components has the worst experience on PC
>Almost every new game released comes with spyware
Consoles have always been superior.
I was refering to Taro fans. You didn't get spoiled because you don't know shit about the franchise, that's why.
>The game runs better than it does on PS4
Not denying that. But I'm not enough of a 60fps fag to case. With few exceptions it's mostly on the 50-60fps mark on PS4 and that's more than good enough for me, for a Platinum game Nier:A is surprisingly stable on consoles. I just pointed out a bunch of issues with the PC version that actually heavily affected your experience, and all you come back with is slightly worse FPS on console - big whoop. I'd much rather trade the stability of PS4's launch with 10 less fps over all the bullshit that happened with PC's launch.
Allso the fact that I got to play the game on launch rather than a month later. That alone is enough to shatter ANY advantage the PC version has (which was none, at launch)
Your post reminds me of all the problems the game had with higher than 1080p resolutions and non-16:9 scaling. Thanks for proving my point. You can to to the archives and see all the weird glitches with PC's resolution problems alone.
And once again, I'm GLADLY play the game at 900p rather than wait a month for 4K.
>I was refering to Taro fans. You didn't get spoiled because you don't know shit about the franchise, that's why.
Hey, I loved Nier and suffered through that shitty game Drakengard 3 that barely ran at like 15 fps on the PS3.
It runs at 900p and has a fan fix, you pleb. Get some self-awareness. You're autistic as fuck. And it was only a week or two late and nobody cared.
>I'm GLADLY play the game at 900p rather than wait a month for 4K.
Isn't this like console gaming in a nutshell? Don't forget about the fps dips.
>our post reminds me of all the problems the game had with higher than 1080p resolutions and non-16:9 scaling. Thanks for proving my point.
This post makes even less sense. The fuck are you talking about?
You're only desperate to play games at launch because you don't have anything else to play. PC gamers don't feel like that.
I spent ~$900 on a PC and honestly kinda regret it, I just play League on my PC and everything else on PS4. PC has quite literally almost zero worthwhile exclusives
>this autismo cuck PAID for a 900p 30fps console port
>argues at PCMR who pirated the game and plays it at 4k 120fps with graphics mods
what games do you even play on ps4, if you're just gonna list those 4 exclusive titles it has don't even bother.
How do consolecucks feel about being completely irrelevant?
Only $1100? What do you want to play, Tetris?
Nah, impossible. Spoilers were unavoidable if you didn't completely ignore threads, especially in the 2 week period between the western console release and PC's release.
Half of OP's images would be a spoiler, then every 5th comment would be a spoiler.
There's simply no way that you avoided spoilers before playing the game. It simply can't happen.
>And it was only a week or two late and nobody cared.
As if a couple of weeks wasn't bad enough (of course none of you are fans so you wouldn't care). But it was actually a month between the first english release and the PC version. I know it because that's the one I got.
I'm talking about just that. You post a 4K screenshot (that's actually above 4K, what's your monitor?) which reminded me of all the issues the game had at launch with resolution on PC. Some people got black bars. Some people got a 4:3 image stretched to 16:9. Some people got a black screen. Some people couldn't play on full screen mode or windowed mode (can't recall which). It was, and still is, a shit port on PC.
What game on there is good that isn't on Consoles? The top game, CSGO's best version is the Xbox 360 and Ps3 version.
>You post a 4K screenshot
No I didn't.. I get it, you have down syndrome.
Been playing crash recently, before that Wipeout collection, gravity rush 2, nioh, and persona 5.
Honestly the steam store is exhausting to look through due to the metric shitton of garbage in it. I used to be a completionist and trophy whore so I would play these shitty games all the time, and about a year or so back I stopped doing that and stopped playing most AAA trash and stopped playing generic indie shit, and pretty much just started buying quality niche games, some indies, and the occasional AAA game and it's so much better imo.
I played PUBG for a few hours, enjoyed Factorio, and am going to start M&B prob sometime in the near future, but that's about it desu, everything else been underwhelming.
It was 2 weeks dumb nigger and I played Nier before you were born.
This is honestly the only reason to get a PC, if you enjoy MOBAs and meme games, or if you enjoy RTS (which is pretty much dead genre).
I would suggest this but your experience will depend more on your internet connection and not how powerful your box is.
Another tip, sign up for an account on Steam and GoG. GoG gives away old classics occasionally to give you a taste of retro stuff, its sells also nothing but drm-free games. Steam has a discovery que thing in their store that throws games out at you and asks for your interest in that game- the more you browse the better the recommendations, not a terrible place to start.
I got a gaming PC before MOBA and meme games even existed. You kids need to learn how to enjoy your hobby.
But that's the thing, its only a hobby to these people so much as net surfing and television watching is a hobby (read: not at all).
>if you don't play the same games as me you aren't taking this hobby seriously >:(
