anyway, serious answer: just go down to staples or office max or whatever, and they have chairs right there that you can sit in and see which one is comfy
I unironically use a basic oak dining chair similar to pic related and it's actually really comfortable for extended gaming sessions and doesn't hurt your ass or your back like other chairs do, plus it gives you great posture for leaning forward instead of most chairs that are designed for you to just sink back in them

Advice on top of this: Don't get fabric. The cushion will wear down faster than a leather chair's will, and stains happen. You know damn well how.

A) Go to a local office supplies store and try shit out.
B) Get a popular chair like Ikea Markus.
C) Get a popular but expensive chair from Steelcase or Herman Miller
As a wildcard, get a Dxracer ONLY if you find one on a massive sale, which are as good as or slightly better than your run off the mill office chair like Markus but nowhere near actual high-end office chairs like HM and Steelcase.
Go to a used office supply store and buy something from an actual nice brand like Steelcase or Herman Miller. You can get something like an Aeron or a Leap v2 in great shape for like $300 and it will last a decade or more.
Or get this if you want no cushioning and to fuck up your back by age 30. I had this for two years, so glad I upgraded from this piece of shit.

If that's truly the case, get either a Steelcase Gesture, Leap, Aeron, or Embody. Those are the chairs to consider if you're truly rolling in it. Gesture is pretty god tier and what I ended up going with myself. I work mostly at home and I'm at my desk for like 12 hours a day either working or playing vidya when I do and there's basically no pain after like there was with the Markus. Got really lucky and caught a deal on mine though, they are FUCKING expensive new. Probably worth it, but expensive.

I sit on an exercise ball most of the time. It's actually helped my posture a lot. When I'm too sleepy and need to be comfy while on the computer then I bust out my basic office chair.

Considering how much time I spend at my desk, I do. I caught a deal on it and paid $400, but I was considering buying it new. You don't cheap out on things you live in. Task and mattresses specially are worth spending money on. It's why even shitty, broke offices generally give workers something okish at minimum.

My issue is I get restless and I need to change my sitting position after a certain amount of time so I enjoy being able to adjust my chair or swivel around a little to kill some pent up energy. It's not that I'm not active, but I come home from work and don't wanna do shit .

Adjustable as fuck, good lumbar support, sturdy as shit. I was having trouble finding anything cheap and used from Hermann Miller so I paid $250 for this and I don't regret it.
