Right now probably PLD. DRK lost most of its complexity. PLD has more going on. Not to say that DRK isn't fun at cap but it isn't nearly as engaging as PLD is throughout the mid to high levels.
DRK is more simple and you are in control of your rotation unlike PLD which is static
The majority of lala players are faggots but there are a few that are literally the best players both in attitude and skill.
I'd disagree. Dark Arts alone makes DRK more interesting than PLD at least until they get Holy Spirit/Requiescat, but by then DRK has bloodspiller.

Fucking hell, i finally got a party that could do mechanics for 2.0 but there wasnt enough DPS. We hit enrage 3 times with no deaths. It's so frustrating. On a related note, as someone who plays this game with high ping i really really hate the first tentacle cast where you have to go to the safe tentacle and stand near the tank because i almost never manage to go back to the ground. It looks like i'm in the circle but if the tank is moving it just becomes a rng connection based shitshow.

PLD have some of the best looking weapons and the coolest defensive cooldown in the game.
But DRK is better at pretty much everything else, especially animations (Riot Blade is stupid as fuck) .

It's pretty fun, DRK has been my main tank job for a while. Played all 3 at cap in HW but DRK was the funnest. I just feel like they lost alot of fun factor in Stormblood with fewer abilities to use, only one real combo worth using. Bloodspiller is fun, the Blackest Night is really sweet when you get the hang of it but overall PLD still just feels more engaging to play. More choice in combos, more group utility. Cannot beat the DRK aesthetic though

I came to this thread to complain about the shitty zone design of Stormblood.
Every zone while much larger than ARR ones have no goddamn thought put into them at all. Offensive amounts of copy+pasting with no effort to hide it, they didn't do anything to make FATEs interesting or fun, and overall they're just big empty shitholes. You can't even enter any buildings.

No. I cant think of a reason other than gearing two jobs at the same time during the shitty lockouts along with having more crafting specializations. I don't have the time or commitment for that and the reduced sub fee is nice.

I actually really like the some of the new areas. Yanxia and Peaks have dozen of "secret" paths that you can use as shortcuts for sidequests until you unlock flying, it was a very nice touch. They also have dozen of minor secrets and places to find (I like this kind of stuff, even without rewards).
But I agree that there is a bit of copy-paste abuse. They created a new kind of FATE (chase a giant robot boss, in Peaks) but I think there is only one like that. I guess they are saving all FATE ideas for Eureka.
No, XIV's MSQ is long as fuck, plus there is no reason to play with alt characters other than (E)RP adventures.

I'd rather have better, more fleshed out Gyr Abania and then separately the Far East, because as it is it feels like they bit off more than they could chew and in the end Gyr Abania feels unsatisfying and haphazard and Far East feels like small samples cut out from a much bigger land, both made to fit Heavensward model regardless of how much sense it made.

What bothers me the most about the new areas is how most of them feel like a square. The Lochs is the worst offender.
I remember 2.0 areas having more interesting land formation and pathways. The only 4.0 area that feels different is Yanxia.

To be fair, places like Ruby Sea and Steppes have to be "squares" since they are basically a small part of a far bigger region (ocean and plains, respectively). Kinda like when you pick a region to build your world in Legend of Mana.
MP management is why people complain, not because of Delirium or Scourge. Low blow/reprisal aiding MP management also added a little bit of a skill ceiling with DRK and there was a clear difference between a good DRK and a great DRK in 3.x
Now a good DRK is a great DRK.
I find Hunts to be one of the most fun thing in this game just because of the amount of people that gather around to do it. It kinda sucks the mobs are super easy and it gets repetitive fast. Makes a good amount of money though.

Depends on if you get reported or not. If you don't get reported you're fine. I should have held my tongue but we already had a ton of shitters earlier so I couldn't contain it.
Yeah, the loss of delirium wasn't a big deal.
What was a big deal was losing Low Blow and Reprisal to tank roles that deal no damage and don't proc on parries. No more chain testical smashing with your iron boot.
Then there's Blood Price being turned into nothing but a gauge filler because of how little MP it restores, so now you have no AOE MP regeneration fucking at all until level 64.
THEN Scourge is gone, because the animation was too cool.
And because we just can't fucking stop taking shit away, Unleash had its potency cut in half for no reason and Dark Passenger was turned into an ability you only use if you decide that you absolutely hate having a mana bar and want your DPS to be fucked for the rest of the fight.
I don't know if that shit was too complex or what but I want it all back.
Peaks is just two separate maps that share a not even really a square, like if you stuck Central and Western Thanalan in the same instance. Technically you're sort of right with Ruby Sea but it's at least 50% water with uniquely shaped islands and underwater areas so it hardly matters.
I see this post almost verbatim every thread. What changed between 3.x and 4.0? I never played it before Stormblood hit because I was still on the trial. As it is, I think DRK is really fun. I like all the different things Dark Arts lets you do and The 60-70 abilities add a lot of nice utility and damage options for the job. It's the most fun I've had in the game so far.

Afaik wholly depends. If what they do breaks the user agreement, you have a good case. I've just called people worse things and this is my second report (obviously) since 3.2 was my first.

I'm talking about the Cracked Clusters you get from the mobs. Trade those for Materia VI and dump them into the market. Already made like 20m+ from casually doing hunts.
Materia prices vary from server to server though, so yours might not be that profitable. Current patch also influences prices (usually the highest on release day). Prices will probably tank when new Deep Dungeon comes out.

But Low Blow was a thoughtless, boring skill. It was an automatic thing that you just smashed when it lit up, it added nothing. It also forced DRK into the MT position since they were losing that DPS if they couldn't parry. Similar thing for Reprisal, except that you just popped Dark Dance when you wanted it. Other tanks had no equivalent, so it also made DRK a mandatory pick for raids.

Blood Price is for big AoE pulls and restores reasonable MP in those, although it is a little on the weak side before it also generates blood. But this was made up for by Syphon Strike giving double MP in Grit. The entire reasoning was because Blood Price effectively gave DRK infinite MP in AoE pulls and placed them firmly in the top spot for AoE tanking. And honestly, that hasn't even changed. Salted Earth and Abbysal Drain are still fucking amazing, and they've still got plenty of tools to keep their MP going unlike PLD and WAR which are rendered basically useless once their TP runs out.

It's a shame to lose Scourge's animation, but it was just another thoughtless timer to babysit. They removed tons of DoTs for the same reason, they're better replaced with abilities that actually interact with the job's core rotation and resources.

These changes were a little odd, I can only assume it was to firmly establish Abyssal Drain as the intended AoE skill while Unleash is for aggro only. Dark Passenger really is useless though, but it's not like it was super amazing before. Just another oGCD to mash on cooldown.

I'm not sure where you are in the end game but if you aren't doing Omega Savage there's no need to waste your Materia.
But if you indeed are doing Omega Savage then you better have every single slot melded up with VI if you don't want to be instantly kicked.

Low Blow was objectively fun to use while cycling through targets on top of it restoring MP on Blood Weapon. There's nothing wrong with a riposte OGCD. Shit, PLDs still have theirs, DRK's just got removed for some reason.
Removing a bunch of abilities because "you need to babysit it" or "it's just a button you mash!" is an atrocious slippery slope that leads to, well, LED TO DRK becoming literally 1-2-3 bloodspiller.
