Why the fuck did the west only get a few Goemon games? Would it really have been that hard for Konami to translate the few paragraphs of a script most of the games have and port them to Steam for a quick buck?

Too Japanese for the hamburger people
This. The only reason we got the Nogaems 64 entries was because they had nothing else to localize for the same console
why waste money localizing games when you can turn them into pachinko machines and make more money than you ever would make from the western market?
These days it's probably too Japanese even for the japs
>pachinko isn't a dying market that will be gone within our lifetime
Goemon is my nigga.
Someone needs to kick some sense into Konami.

N-nani!?
Can't complain, they gave us the best one in Goemon 64. Game was so far ahead of its time in regards to games with strong japanese culture and actually japanese lyrics making it to the us audience. If you compare how the unprepared for it american audience was catered to with the translation of the SNES game vs the N64 ones you can really see how groundbreaking Goemon 64 actually was.
I hope the rest of the SNES games still get fan translated.
Also isn't Goemon fucking dead in Japan?
Konami's games in general are dead. Even Metal Gear is just a Pachinko series now.
The one on snes got butched badly with the name changes (KID YING) and other stuff, also it wasn't that good compared to the later entries that sadly never got localized.
Mystical Ninja got released at the same time as OoT, bad choice but surprisingly, it sold decently.
Great Adventure also sold ok, but cutting the OP and double impact for burgers when the previous one had it was stupid (eu got saved).
And the GB game was shit.
I think is more of weird localization choices, but honestly, we got the best ones the ps1 games were mediocre at best, and the ps2 lacked all the charm of the series, don't get me started on that futuristic reboot.
Just pachinko shit and some vc releases
>Pachinko
Right. I forgot Konami doesn't make videogames anymore. Oh well.
Yeah, the last game was on the original Nintendo DS ten years ago.
Yeah, that game was the swan's song of the series.
I miss him a lot.
>cutting the OP and double impact for burgers
What was cut? What do you mean double impact?
This was axed from the US release

Ok yeah I get what you mean, I thought you meant second player being able to control the other impact during boss battles.
How come there are no English translations for Goemon 2-4 on SNES?
Love this series though, wish it wasn't a dead IP.
nobody gives a shit, some dude was working on Goemon 3, but he died and never released anything sans one or two pics.
At least there some faqs with translations and Goemon 2 isn't text heavy.
Did they halted the translation because of text compression issues or was it because nobody is interested in translated?
gonna guess it was the 2nd because the dude just stopped.
It's japanese.
Like REALLY japanese. I think it even confuses actual Japanese people.
>they were going to make a new Goemon on PS3, an all new 3D adventure with awesome cel shaded graphics
>they cancelled it, scrapped the source code, and flipped the assets into a pachinko game
hi!
>Goemon and Yae are generic aniimu's
>Ebisu is a fucking loli
>Sasuke is a pineapple
Yare yare daze...
>>Ebisu is a fucking loli
That's quite the improvement tbqh.
Fuck you
