Do you try to get all the achievements in games?
Do you try to get all the achievements in games?
No I just play the game
Only if I had a lot of fun playing through it and want some new goal to go for.
This. I'm not 12, so I don't give a shit about achievements.
>I never achievement hunt
>3 best friends do
>Online games now mean helping them get achievements
>Rounds of Killing Floor 2 would last forever, a single zombie walking around aimlessly whilst we scour for collectables.
>I just wanted to kill zombies.
not really anymore after I realized it mostly pointless
Only game I do it for is Civ 5 when I'm not using mods, though at 700 hours it's started to get a little tiring now that I've beaten it with every leader ever.
No, because if you're not having fun there's no point in getting a binary "you did it!" for various activities that you don't find fun
Only game I've done it for is LISA and LISA: The Joyful
It was so worth it, just unlocking those little tid bits of lore.
Sometimes. If I really liked the game, and if the achievements aren't a pain in the ass to get.
I also have come to appreciate cheevos more after I got a PS4. Console games are ridiculously expensive here where I live, so trying to get the absolute maximum out of every game I buy is not a bad idea.
I don't try to get any.
I play the game normally, often with achievement pop-ups turned off, and if I happen to have like 95% after I complete the game I might go after the last 5% if it's something that can be done quickly, otherwise fuck it.
I do have all the Half-Life ones though.
>Achievement in multiplayer game is impossible to get because of the meta
Thanks a fucking lot, TF2.
>getting achievements means you don't play the game
Wut? The games I've platinumed are from multiple play throughs. Whatevs though, to each xis own
You mean like this?
Eh... if I feel they would reasonably be within my skillset and not require retarded time investment, sure.
For example, I will NEVER get all the achievements in Crypt of the Necrodancer. I won't even come close. So I accept that fact and move on.
I frequently collect them on PS/Xbox, but I don't see the point of collecting steam cheevos because of the how easy it is to hack.
>little rocket man
>mfw horrible flashbacks trying to get that achievement
No. I try to enjoy every game I play; which is significantly more difficult than getting the cheeverinos.
The only hard part was the helicopter chase. Get Ye Some Grub was far more annoying.
I thought the grub one was almost worse because you had no way to keep track (without a guide). Though I admit the seconds before putting the gnome in the rocket were kind of tense.
I usually don't but sometimes I just feel like it. HL2 cheevos are somewhat interesting and actually provide some variety to the gameplay. Like getting through Ravenholm without firing a single shot was pretty interesting. But then there are cheevos like
>kill one mirrion twoops using some shitty special attack
I for some reason decide to get 100% on Pirate Warriors 3 and let me tell you, grind is real.
And fuck this gnome fucker.
>carried the fucker all the way to the end
>put him on the rocket and feel accomplished
>finish the game
>"so where's cheevo?"
>you get it when you close the hatch
I was mad.
I get trophies. It sucks and is addicting. Don't get into it.
No. Never cared. Unless they provide some in-game bonuses.
what the fuck
No, I don't have autism
This is actually the most reasonable answer I've ever seen to this question.
What strives you to get all the achievements/trophies in a video game?
Yes
>not autistic enough to get all achievements since most of them are fillers anyway
>still autistic enough to be bothered about not having the game listed as 100 % even though i finished it
>launch SAM and fix the problem myself
Heh.
Came here to post this. Steam cheevos mean nothing at all.
>autistic
you mean OCD
How did you mange this? I got bored with this game before I could finish it once.
Not much. Achievements are mostly fetch quests and boring stuff to collect (Assassin's Creed or Arkham series)
The only reasonable achievements are those where you have to make specific moves or choices or doing a pacifist playthrough for example
Was it autism?
Only for fun games where 100% completion (that isnt a tedious collectathon) gets you all the achievements
My favourite one to get was the Super Hexagon - Hyper Hexagonest achievement
Oh yeah you're right. I'm actually an OCD fucking freak. You should see how i categorized my library, i have maybe 30 categories and counting.
Unless I get some other reward than "wow you did it" or I just enjoy the game so much that I might as well go for achievements while playing, no.
Usually don't care about achievements but if they're somewhat easy to acquire my autism tries to unlock at least 50 % of them.
i have only ever looked at them to get an idea of some neat things to do in a game, nowadays though they're all busywork fluff and handed out for doing unmissable things.
Acquire better friends or stop being a pushover and just tell them to play the game
Eh, sometimes for me the "wow you did it" is just enough to push me to do something I otherwise wouldn't bother with.
Only in games I absolutely adored and that captured me in a way. Mostly just Isaac Rebirth, Hotline Miami, The Witness, and Furi.
Well I'm procrastinating on getting an S on Furier but everything else is one.
Indulge them.
Imagine yourself trying to do cheevos in a multiplayer game with complete randoms who only want to kill zombies. Once they're done with their cheevos, you can play normally as much as you want. But getting some cheevos in multiplayer games without coordination with your teammates, or sometimes even with the enemies, can be nigh impossible.
If I enjoy the game I look up the achievements and if they look fun to do I see them as additional content.
But most achievements are bullshit like
>do this sidequest in difficulties, higher dont count as lower
>collect 6million lamp shades
Only if they're fun or interesting, or challenging, yet creative that forces me to utilize underused mechanics I either do not understand or have little need for in the conventional game.
>>collect 6million lamp shades
Sup Forums get out
