It was okay. I don't think any of the characters were very well done but seeing as how it is essentially a pilot I think it is excusable

It'd have been much better if it could actually use the classic soundtrack instead of cockteasing it with a few retro sounding synthesizers.

I never really thought of Castlevania as having the tone of Berserk, but I liked what they did with it. I feel like Dracula and his wife were interesting characters but Trevor felt like he wasn't really sure what his motivations were, and Girl was just Girl and we barely established Alucard.
Looking forward to season 2, but this basically felt like an extended pilot.

The animation was kind of shitty.

indeed, neither great or terrible, just okay. Maybe due to the expectations being so fucking low though it was an interesting surprise.

It was originally planned as a direct to dvd movie trilogy. the first movie was adapted into a four episode season. parts two and three are being put together for an eight episode second season.

Probably Netflix testing the waters since game adaptions are known to being awful. Season 2 will have to well known 8 episodes it's known for.

There was nothing smooth about it, and they added tons of filler to each episode to avoid spending too much on action scenes. Most of the dialogue is pointless and adds nothing to the story being told.
And I still liked it, but it did seem kind of cheap. Maybe it will improve next season now that they'll have a better budget.

It was pretty fun to watch, but not much more than that. It was only impressive considering the studios involved.
