I can decapitate people in Ninja Gaiden?
Way of the Samurai....sort of. It doesn't let you explicitly decapitate people but it's the closes thing you're going to get in terms of samurai simulator
>Mugen
>filthy pirate scum
>a samurai
...
Metal Gear Rising. There was also a Samurai Champloo PS2 game made by the studio who did no more heroes, but I don't think there is any dismemberment in that game.
No decapitations but you can slice a cowboy in two like bamboo shoots
painfully average but I remember it having an interesting cutting system
Way of the Samurai 1, 2, 3, 4
I recommend 4
SOME DAYS
rip jun abes
SOME NIGHTS
SOME LIVE, SOME DIE
Speaking of Samurai Champloo, how did you guys feel in 2006 when the culture of the early 2000s concluded? Sad? Bittersweet? Angry?
Where's the 7th samurai
BY THE WAY OF THE SAMURAI
SOME FIGHT, SOME BLEED
SOME FIGHT SOME BLEED
>There was a Samurai Champloo game that was pretty decent
>They didn't get Steve Blum to voice Mugen
JUST
I haven't seen Champloo for a while but from what I remember the whole point was they weren't really samurai. The opening song has a line like "wandering around with no law/lord" and that's what they do. Which isn't what samurai were if you look at history, they were more like law-abiding soldiers with honor and such. The protags of Champloo aren't real samurai and I think that's the whole point of the show, it's being purposely weird and paradoxical.
>last episode of lupin airs
you have no idea what that did to me
SUN UP TO SUN DOWN
Did you try to commit sucicide after the last episode of Lupin aired on adult swim?
THE SONS OF A BATTLECRY
A BATTLECRY
Jin was a legit ronin. I don't know what the fuck Mugen was.
Ronin
>a show co-starring a south japanese pirate that uses a fighting style borne from hip-hop break dancing
>and the first thing user criticizes is, "wtf, they're not really samurai"\
tokugawa shogunate did nothing wrong
mugen was just an athletic thug
I think the technical term is dumb asshole with a sword.
>nujabes is dead
>dj okawari hasn't released an album since 2011
>no one else can captures that style of music
Just kill me
Yeah actually, in NG2 at least
>no one else can captures that style of music
fuuuuck this
at least i managed to move on. edm is slowly filling the hole, but nujabes still makes my day. hopefully i'll get over the fact nothing new will be made ever.
this isn't a feels thread, but whatever
>My best friend since kindergarten is diagnosed with brain cancer in High school
>we would always watch Toonami together on weekends (when I was able to visit him)
>sometimes he would need rest and we wouldn't be able to watch toonami together
>our favorite show was Lupin III
>on nights when he was too tired to watch adult swim, I would record it on my VHS to watch it with him when he recovered
>Night of a major operation he needed that was either life or death
>before the Operation, his last words to me were "hopefully we can watch Lupin tomorrow"
>he died a a couple weeks before Lupin III stopped airing
>tfw 2 things that made me happy were gone
i'm still not over it.
How did you feel when you first heard Nujabes passed away?
I wasn't criticizing, I think it's cool. The whole point of the show, even.
I don't think Mugen ever refers to himself as a samurai come to think of it. Jin refers to him as the "most undisciplined fighter I've ever met", but that's about it. I don't think Jin uses the word "Samurai" to refer to Mugen ever.
>>no one else can captures that style of music
fucking this.
the only Hip Hop that's really popping these days are lo-fi shit that gets really boring fast.
I wish J Dilla and Nujabes weren't dead. imagine a collab album
I can really dig lo-fi, but it's a come-and-go phase for me because it all really starts to bleed together in a bad way. I'll go a few weeks listening to nothing else then I can't stomach it anymore
You should watch it again in his memory
I try to do the same thing with lofi, but man nujabes was fuckin masterful. I feel like hip-hop has gotten really set in it's ways and either leans to heavily into the rap or is all instrumental with no break in flow.
Did you watch the show? This is literally the first frame of it.
Also, the show is called Samurai Champloo, Champloo meaning stirred up or to improvise as you go. None of that means "We follow two samurai warriors as they go to battle for the shogun"
Also there are samurai in the show, during a time when the age of the Samurai is almost over and they are cracking down on sword carrying.

Sad that he will never be able to top perfection.
i dunno mang, i just recently started to get taste. until about 2-3 years ago, 90% of my library was alt rock and j-rock. i couldnt stand edm.
i don't even know if the shit i listen to would be considered good, i really have no one to turn to for music taste.
i'll try user.
he wouldn't want me to abandon it if he was still here
you are painfully wrong.
there's literally thousands of fags with keyboards and pads making the same shit.
I'll just go through some of my recent playlists
-bahwee
-betonkurst
-body-san
-bsn posse
-bugseed
-bun
-buz ludzha
-canblaster
-cherushii
-coubo
-dauwd
-devonwho
-ESPRIT
-foans
-sango
-taku
I could list hundreds and hundreds of more "literally who" who all have the same smooth, jazz influence sounds.
Beat music is a dime a dozen.
Slightly off topic but how does Sup Forums feel about The Boondocks' sounctrack? Different brand of hip hop, but I feel like the aesthetic flows the same way
you should check out dela.
His instrumentals are as good as the rapping, which are really good
youtube.com
Samurai basically were organized gangsters dude. They spent most of their history opposing the government and keeping the emperor at a minimum of power.
I like booty butt cheeks. The song speaks to me. Also stomp em in the nuts.
Shadow Tactics.
You really need to treat yourself and play NG Black / Sigma, such a good game.
please post your top 10 most listened-to artists
>They spent most of their history opposing the government and keeping the emperor at a minimum of power.
wot. the government and various clans of the court frequently employed samurai, starting from the heian period with proto-samurai rural mercs.
give me a min to download spotify on my computer.
Pretty much this There are tons of guys doing that Jazzy/Lo-fi style of instrumentals.
The guys who organized this site have a pretty large collection of instrumentals like that complete with spotify & youtube playlists chillhop com
Taku is only one on that list who does something similar, mostly contained on that tribute to nujabes, and sango is going for a different feel entirely. Nujabes music had way more layers and overlaps into different rhythms and music types. It's the problem I have with lofi, none of it tries to subvert the previous track and becomes almost inoffensive to listen to, Some of Nujabes tracks are like that but then there are others that demand attention. Im not really musically inclinned so it's hard to express, but the easiest I can explain is that with most of those artist, 1-2 minutes into a song I know what to expect from the rest, with Nujabes I can't do that nearly as often
They shifted the power to the shogun which is a military position and away from the nerds at court. That's a large part of what the whole genji war thingy was about.
what is spotify anyway?
i use russian facebook and download my songs off there.
idk if this link works or if only i can see
>vaporwave
wandering samurai with no master are ronin
Why is Jin so much better than Mugen
vaporwave is trash and I don't listen to shit like that. Somone else decided on the fucking tags you faggot, pick more shit out of the fucking hat
I mainly listen to funk and types of disco.
Music player like pandora. Has almost any album you want to listen to and custom playlists from the community.
I pay to use the premium version so, I never pay for albums any more unless I want to add one to collection.
Because you like the blue oni trope better than the red oni trope.
this shit lists zomby as my all time most listened to... I think I listened to one zomby track my entire life.
than make a better list you troglodyte
what is this nerd shit?
>>>tvtropes
>They shifted the power to the shogun which is a military position and away from the nerds at court. That's a large part of what the whole genji war thingy was about.
>genji war
its genpei war. you could at least google it.
i don't know if you're trying to generalize the role of samurai in history or the role of samurai in the heian period.
either way, you dont know a goddamn thing what you're saying.
In a bunch of japanese shit there will be two characters. One will be a hothead and one will be calm and collected. The hothead will wear red and the calm one will wear blue. It goes back to some fairy tale.
I'm aware you're just trying to irritate me but I'm going to educate you regardless.
>dj okawari hasn't released an album since 2011
surprise nigga
youtube.com
came here to post this
I played it tons as a kid and got pretty far, tried emulating a year or two ago and was absolute dogshit at the controls
idk what happened
I read a big ass history book but it was a while ago so I'm just generalizing at this point. There is an undeniable trend of the samurai shifting power away from the nobility and towards themselves down through japanese history.
yeah let me come back to this thread in a month when I've listened to more shit.
ll you need to look at is past six weeks most played artists, then you can throw more sand in your vagina over vaporwave tags
For Honor
u ok my dude?
>takes (you) a month to figure out your most listened to artists
howslowru?
bahwee, coubo, deconwho, foans, dauwd... These guys are a lot closer to nujabees than taku... not that I expect you or anyone else to know that. Maybe you listen to as much of this shit as me. I started with nujabees and fat jon almost 10 years ago. These types of sounds have only gotten more popular.
So, which one was better?
>There is an undeniable trend of the samurai shifting power away from the nobility and towards themselves down through japanese history.
no shit the samurai eventually rose to prominence over the emperor, the court and the shintoists/buddhists.
that's not what you said earlier though which was
>They shifted the power to the shogun
He's the one that took the photo
technically, Bebop
thematically, Bebop
artistically, Bebop
Champloo is good, especially for digital anime but not Bebop good
SPACE DANDY BABY
Did that not happen in the kamakura shogunate?
modded mountain blade
Not sigma. Black
I love champloo but bebop is magnitudes more impressive
Fullmetal Alchemist
dandy all the way bro
Samurai Champloo has the better ending. Other than that, Cowboy Bebop is superior
>What are some games where I can play as a traditional samurai and shoot people with a bow.
Fixed that for you.
From the ones I listened to before, Coubo and Bahwee are the only ones who reflect nujabes a lot in their music, but even they express it differently, which I respect, but I don't feel it as much as nujabes. Dauwd i've never heard of it, it sounds good so far, thanks for the suggestion user
Pirate.
What are some games with really cool soundtracks that isn't boring orchestral shit and instead neat smooth underground variants of popular genres
not black. Sigma
One of them should've died at the end, probably Jin to symbolize the end of the samurai.
fuck you, that would have been terrible.
you should have died in your mother's fetid womb
Yo I heard you like rap and samurai shit
I still sing the yoshitsune rap from time to time.
