I remember the staff saying they got a lot of mail from upset parents due to how that cover looked
I miss nintendo power
>Nobody called it the PSX!
I used to get Official PS2 Magazine when I was a teenager, as well as a couple of issues of PSM2. The demo discs that came with OPS2 were pretty cool.
It originally was planned for N64 release. Shame that didn't happen. It could have made an already amazing FPS library even better.
Fapped to that a LOT
whats this?
...
That was LITERALLY its original name. It was going to be called "PSX", pronounced "PEE ESS EX", as in that would be the full name, not an abbreviation. Once they changed it to "PlayStation" NOBODY called it "PSX" anymore until the internet decided to use that abbreviation for some reason.
I remember having a DVD from a PS2 magazine that had this trailer on it, and I though this was pretty cool when I was a teenager.

To this day I haven't played a single Breath of Fire game.
it was supposed to though
yallniggas
So what you're saying is that everyone called it the PSX?
Does anyone else find it weird how there's not more of an effort to archive all these game magazines? It just feels like a shame to me that so much of this material is now lost forever.
Nigga I got this shit fo free
That is the most depressing magazine cover I've ever seen.
Have another.
And another.
maybe?
this is the bitch from the game
dunno if it's supposed to be the same character or not
They need to bring that back.
Robert Ashley talks to former Electronic Gaming Monthly writers and editors about their experiences at the long running magazine.

>next generation
This is a long shot but does anyone have the cover of the magazine of the first Soul Calibur, pretty sure it was that magazine.
It had a close up of Ivy's face, I remember it because it was the first time I ever felt a crush for a fictional character, which really weirded me out at the time.
this one?
Dang, I only ever remember seeing the face tattoo one as a kid. My early beating off days got robbed.
Holy shit that's it, thanks dude, it's so weird looking at it after so many years.
*BRAAAAPRRRRT*
Yeah, gaming magazines are definitely a cool part of gaming history that it'd be nice to be able to look back on.
There's at least Retromags, but they do what they can and it's still reliant on a thriving userbase to help.
Didnt the mask 2 come out years later? Makes me wonder what prize he got
Didn't they actually find those ET games buried out in the desert or am I imagining things?
Pretty sure they did end up finding them
You could tell that a lot of EGM reviewers in the 90s literally would only play the first level of a game.
This is fucking awesome.
