Cold Steel - released on GoG/Steam

>no comfy Trails thread

Let's fix that.
>how long have you played?
>difficulty?
>waifu?

Try to not spoil the newcommers.

Can I change the difficulty in game?

Nah, start of the game only. Moving up or down? There are ways you can make the game more or less difficult even while playing but you can't adjust the actual difficulty as far as I know.

Best girl. Prove me wrong. You might be able to because that's not Fie.

Moving up to Nightmare. Oh well, start over I guess. Thanks turbo mode.

Turbo mode makes starting over easier, but even on Hard you can easily just limit yourself a little. Like, I want Hard to feel tough so I skip random encounters and enemies. That way, when I hit a boss, I'm 3 levels lower than him and he gets to beat me silly.

Reminder Crow is alive

I think "hard" is a good difficulty for this game. I don't understand why everyone's complaining it's too easy. The 3 door-demons at the end of the month-two dungeon kicked my asshole in.

Spamming that silly area-wide wail that did 800 damage and lowered the entire parties defense. Fuck that was a close fight.

Do you people grind or something?

You can use cheat engine to change the difficulty

Crow is shit anyway.

>how long have you played?
16 hours. Taking my time.

>difficulty?
Hard. Normal was too easy and people told me Nightmare was unbalanced.

>waifu?
Undecided.

You mean Alicia, right?

Is there any difference between buying on GOG or Steam? Like except the obvious DRM thing?

Well GoG patches a lot slower, but you're actually not supporting an evil company, which is nice.

You seem to have failed to post Emma.

Why are people shilling this game so hard?

Every character in CS 1 and 2 is shit
You have to lower standards and be tolerant of so much bullshit writing to actually like this shit Christ

Too cute

Swordautism should be a bannable offense.

Never thought much about Emma but fug shes really cute actually. Somehow she gives the main heroine vibe later stages at the game.

I like this game far more than Sky trilogy.

Fuck off swordwhore.

...

>Steam
Gass all Steamfags. DRM is a cancer and you should feel bad for buying it there.

>Gass

Don't you mean steam?

Pirated the GOG version. Pretty good so far.

Me too. I didn't think 2D-sprite-comfy would translate into 3D-model-comfy but what do you know.

Visiting Cedric was such a relaxing experience. I have never wanted to live in a video game that much in my life.

But will they revive Weissman?

Laurafags are the worst.

>play Trails in the Sky SC
>THAT boss (Löwe)
>party is level 92
>still no chance
Grinding shining poms is getting really boring

You mean Fiefags

Fie is pure though. Only a degenerate Laurafag would argue against that.

There hasn't been any Fieposting for the past 3 or so threads.

Agreed. She's ugly and dumb. Not to mention typical Fiefags are dubcucks too.

>liking sleepy loli trash with revealing whore clothing

Not even Laurafag, but I guess you love Alisa too then.

My personal GOTY this year so far. There's something so relaxing about playing Trails games. They don't always nail story, but they sure got atmosphere perfected.

Japan gets all the good special editions.

She's not even a true loli. Millium is the only loli in CS1.

>fie
>pure
I guess you havent seen how she starts to dress after CS1.

The Steam version and GOG version of CS are literally the same, there isn't even DRM on the steam version.

>GoG

I thought this meme was dead.

Why would it be? Plenty of gamers enjoy GOG. Despite the now-silly name.

You have to be legit retarded to buy games on steam over gog.

Weird looking PC case

Theres no room for the parts

I'm still waiting for the Crossbell games.

You're going to have to explain this one to me.
>PS4 slim - meaning literally the inferior Playstation 4
>game looks and plays way better on PC - which just so happens to be the version the PS4 can't play
>pay 100 bucks more for an underpowered machine that can't play the game the thread's about

Are you just here to shit up the place?

Keep waiting. I'm sorry I want Crossbell as much as you do.

>biggest kiseki sluts in one picture

Basically when I hear an announcement for Zero my plan is to start replaying the series from Sky 1 and hopefully by the time I finish 3 the Crossbells will be coming out. Then by the time I finish those and both Sens, Sen 3 will almost assuredly be out.

The fuck did you just say about Mishy?

They gonna realease for mac os or what guys?

>I can play it on a tablet
>This loser can't play it on a mac
Wise purchase, friend

>mac

would i have needed to play trials in the sky 1 and 2 to play cold steel?

It's recommended but not essential.

You miss out some references, but thats it. Go for it.

I never played TiTS before CS and no, you don't feel line you're missing anything.

Do you suffer from a mental illness?

Is Trails in the Sky related to Cold Steel?

Wait, Cold Steel's out for PC? Why the fuck haven't I heard bout it?

Someone in the markering team needs to be shot.

They take place on the same planet. That's pretty much it, except for big events in one that tremor over to the other. They're quite far apart geographically though.

XSEED cannot into marketing, they like to spend their budget on shilling their English dubs instead.

>XSEED
>marketing

That's fucking cute. The guy who did the port did more marketing for this game than that shitty publisher.

Do they take place around the same time? And is it preferred to play Sky before Cold Steel?

Cold Steel takes place a year after Sky 2 in a different country. You can read a newspaper at the start for CS which mentions the earlier events but it's extremely vague with no details.

The cast is almost entirely new, though Cold Steel 3 is bringing more of the old boys back into play.

Yeah most people would argue that TITS first is a good idea. That being said, Cold Steel is a far better game, and it's not like you'll feel criminally out of bounds if you haven't.

Seriously, if you don't KNOW it's connected to TITS somehow, the game will never make you feel that it is.

>how long have you played?
Just reached noble town
>difficulty?
normal
>waifu?
No idea. Like most characters so far. Probably more interested in jusis and machias at the moment.

The whole events of the games so far have taken place over five years, and the plots are interconnected on the overall sense, while being individual story arcs. The main villains are the same group overall.

>jusis and machias

Machias doesn't want to be friends with someone who gets chummy with nobles, user.

>sold out already
But Sup Forums told me the game will flop because of no Vita support. Did you lie to me, Sup Forums?

We must end this class system and seize the means of reproduction

Keep in mind that the true identity of a party member in Sky will be spoiled if you play Cold Steel first. It's not a huge deal, but still. If you want to appreciate the references it's better to start with Sky.

Git fucking good, son.

Will the trails games run on a Macbook Air? I don't get why the required specs are so high for a game that looks like it does.

Guess I'll start with Sky on Steam. Should I play through all 3 Sky games then Cold Steel?

better yet, start on gog.
But yes, do play in that order. Though some say the TC is optional

That one reveal is not worth starting with sky

GOG is the best version to pirate as it is DRM-fre.

>jusis

Correct choice.

>pirates killing great games that desperately need support
Nothing new here then.

I'm on Chapter 3 on Nightmare and nothing has been debilitatingly hard so far. I've had 3 retries so far from:
>Getting back attacked by a normal enemy group in Chapter 2 and getting wiped before we even got a turn
>Getting instant gibbed by the second floor Old School house bosses (burning S-Crafts to down one as quickly as possible to reduce their damage output did the trick)
>Getting instant gibbed by the third floor achool houses bosses' devil beam (Careful positioning was the key. If they can only hit one person at a time then the fight goes from impossible to mildly annoying)

I will say that people do indeed meme a good bit about the difficulty. It's not super hard but it's nowhere near being faceroll.

You should also emulate zero psp, since that has an english patch. Shame about Ao being stuck in an almost NEVER EVER state.

Post more Alisa.

You don't need to be capped for Loewe. Like the other user said, it really just comes down to gitting gud and using some strategy.

Explain how piracy is killing games.

I'm not too far in, but all the characters are fucking boring

Piracy doesn't matter at all usually. But for niche games with small fanbases like this, each sale makes a difference. It was a already an uphill fight just to get these games localized and show there was a market for them on PC.

Beat both games already on Hard.

My waifu is Sara.

Why would I support a publisher who refuses to give dual audio to their games? I'd rather use my money to support good companies like Aksys and NISA who are bringing games with the original VAs.

Why does everyone choose hard? Why not just play on nightmare?

What is the "normal" difficulty for this game?

Hard

No point in replaying the game if you start on the hardest difficulty.

But that's still assuming that the pirates are lost sales. You don't know that.

I'd say about 20% piracy are sales loss from people boycotting the game.

If you never played in any game from the series, then normal. Otherwise hard or even nightmare.

I'd say that number is 100% pulled out of your ass.

>source: my ass

>I'm at the first Free day
>Hard
>Too soon to call, but I think it's a dick move to give the player the illusion of freedom of choice if the winner is already set in stone
Stick to your guns or don't have a clear winner in the first place, Falcom

Alisa is only canon in promotional material. You absolutely get free choice in the games themselves. You can bench Alisa no problem.
