So how is Splatoon 2? Is it better than the first game?
My girlfriend said I could use her debit card to buy a game because I went to my job interview today so I'm thinking about getting Splatoon 2.
So how is Splatoon 2? Is it better than the first game?
>My girlfriend said I could use her debit card to buy a game because I went to my job interview today
Jesus
Its pretty much like the first game, but there's more to do out the gate and salmon run is a really needed addition.
>My girlfriend said I could use her debit card to buy a game because I went to my job interview today so I'm thinking about getting Splatoon 2.
needless information.
but yeah its good.
I'm about 40-50 hours deep. I never owned a wii-u. It's bretty gud tbqh
You're a good doormat, user.
>My girlfriend said I could use her debit card to buy a game because I went to my job interview today so I'm thinking about getting Splatoon 2.
are you literally in a relationship founded upon the good boy points system?
>So how is Splatoon 2? Is it better than the first game?
imagine the first game with a different singleplayer campaign and some more weapon types in multiplayer
its almost the exact same game
Its a good game
Good luck with that job
You're probably going to need it, judging from that post
Salmon Run is a big deal, it single handedly makes the game way better than the first one. Other than that, it's pretty much more of the same
>My girlfriend said I could use her debit card to buy a game because I went to my job interview today
This is obvious bait, you don't care about Splatoon 2, you're not a hopeless autistic cuck, you just want (you)s.
Too bad Sup Forums is too retarded and this thread will soon get 400 replies asking details about your made up situation and also shitting on Spatoon.
>worse tickrate
>worse grafix
>worse campaign amd final boss
>worse specials
>less content
>worse characters
Splatoon 2 is a deluxe port that actually cuts the good shit from Splat 1. Salmon Run is cool but limited time so honestly fuck this shitty ass game.
anyone in this thread smoke weed
>worse grafix
>worse campaign
>worse specials
>less content
>worse characters
None of this is true
ITS A FUCKING SHIT GAME
no shit
every FUCKING match someone drops out so you are 3vs4 or 2vs4
and then when you think yes I killed him 2 seconds later you die to thanks to the awesome tickrate
yeah. I switched my heroin addiction into weed but it's making me have no ambition towards anything. Comfortable being misery
>My girlfriend said I could use her debit card to buy a game because I went to my job interview today
There's objectively less content.
It is bait but that's the nature of Sup Forums or Sup Forums in specific, didn't you know? People don't want to talk about video games.
>40-50
>deep.
>My girlfriend said I could use her debit card to buy a game because I went to my job interview today
Compared to one month old OG Splatoon it has more content
>every FUCKING match someone drops out
what the heck are you talking about?
If I don't abandon a game after 20, I consider it a success.
Good thing we're no longer playing Month 1 OG Splatoon. We were playing a fully completed game, and then it was all stripped away for the sequel.
...
>My girlfriend said I could use her debit card to buy a game because I went to my job interview today
still better than splatoon 1 was at this point..
The fact that you no longer have the map on the gamepad anymore really sucks. But aside from that, the game is better yeah. It's incredible.
Damn, that would be so useful for shitters.
It's not.
>8 maps vs 16
>49 weapons vs 90
>only new mode is only available at select times
>all of the updates so far have been old weapons from the first game
>and a map that will never be seen again
*at this point
Meanwhile launch splatoon was literally just Splat zones and turfwar, with the level cap being 20 and having like 5 maps.
To not talk about 4 hour cycles.
We're not in 2015. There's no point to compare the barebones release of the first game to this one. We weren't coming off of that, we were coming off of a full game. And now we went back to early access crap.
k
So what you're saying is that it's okay when a certain developer does it?
nice strawman
>My girlfriend said I could use her debit card to buy a game because I went to my job interview today so I'm thinking about getting Splatoon 2.
Why would you tell a lie like that basically makes you look like a complete beta cuck?
It's not a strawman. What sequel releases with less content than the previous game and actually gets praised for it?
when salmon run is going there is a total of 4 game modes you can choose to play, with 3 of those modes changing every 2 hours.
>tfw I almost bought a switch to play splatoon 0.5
>>all of the updates so far have been old weapons from the first game
Dualie Squelchers are new in every sense but looks. There was a new weapon for every class minus Splatlings and Sloshers in the base game.
>>and a map that will never be seen again
Shifty Station will return every Splatfest.
>>>only new mode is only available at select times
Hardly. It spends way more time being available than unavailable. If it was open 24/7 the bonuses would break the game.
Comparing endgame Splatoon 1 to Launch Splatoon 2 is hardly fair, especially since the devs plan on giving S2 the exact same treatment as S1 in terms of content delivery. Plus, Splatoon 2 had a much stronger launch than S1, this is fact.
When you realize the devs intend to space updates out over the course of 2 years, this """barebones launch""" makes sense. The fact that you went and got S2 anyway, knowing the dev's intention of spacing the content out, and complaining about it is pretty stupid if you ask me.
Woah, one whole mode I can't even play all the time.
Love this meme, have a (You) kid
more content than the previous game released with, again nice strawman
>Comparing endgame Splatoon 1 to Launch Splatoon 2 is hardly fair
no it isnt sequels are expected to add not remove things
And it will add things for two years. Come on user.
>want to play rainmaker
>have to wait 11 hours and 55 minutes because it was just on before I signed in
also I have IRL friends with Splatoon 2 so I can play salmon run whenever I want
>Dualie Squelchers are new in every sense but looks
They're functionally identical to the old Dual Squelcher, except for the dash move added to it.
>There was a new weapon for every class minus Splatlings and Sloshers in the base game.
They still cut so many of the old weapons to add as updates later on.
>Shifty Station will return every Splatfest.
Doesn't count. I can't play it any time but a specific 24-hour period once a month.
>If it was open 24/7 the bonuses would break the game.
Then have it without bonuses.
This content delivery system was fine in the first game because there was nothing to compare it to. Coming off of a complete game into an early access one is an insult. Keep the drip feed content, but have enough to actually keep people coming back. Nothing substantial has been added so far. Even Splat 1 got 2 weapons and a map every week for the first few months.
I'm gonna ignore your bait and pretend you were asking seriously.
The base game is almost exactly the same as the first game but it's improved in every way. So it is better, but the only real changes are Salmon Run, a new single player campaign, League Battles, a few new maps and weapons, and a few QoL improvements (double exp and double money tickets, ability chunks, clothing with different main abilities through splatnet, etc)
Every time I see a new game for this thing, I'm grateful I wasn't suckered when I already had a perfectly fine Wii-U.
>Zelda
Got it for the Wii U
>MK8D
Got it for Wii U
>ARMS
Literally no interest
>Splatoon 2
Worse than the first one, which I wasn't interested in to begin with.
>1-2-Switch
Stupid as fuck
>Upcoming Mario game
After 3D World (came with my system), I have no interest in ever playing a 3D Mario again. Last 3D Mario I played before that was M64 for the N64.
League Battle isn't really anything new, it's more of a QoL improvement.
then why dont release the game in two years when its actually finished and isnt just a rehash that is more expensive AND has less content than its predecessor
I consider it new because it's technically different from Squad Battles, albeit only in slight ways
It's like expansion pack of Splatoon 1, just uglier.
To be honest, Splatoon 2 isn't really worth it if you have 1.
It's pretty much the exact same shit.
Maybe in the future when it gets more content.
Your girlfriend sounds like a nice person OP.
It's much better than the first game. My main complaint is that there is no content. I'm already burnt out after 2.5 weeks.
Honestly, that sounds like a pretty good relationship to me.
because that would be shit?
>worse grafix
Have you stopped and looked at Splatoon 1 recently
>he bought a WiiU
Has it really been almost a month already? I've been playing nonstop since release and I haven't even noticed.
I love this game, it's fantastic.
that's bullshit and you know it. The reason they had updates was because the game was rushed and unfinished. There's no reason a sequel to a 5 million selling game has half the amount of maps as it's predecessor at launch
the only shit thing is splatoon """"2"""" in its current state
how is that bullshit free updates are dope
>worse tickrate
Unfortunately.
>worse grafix
No.
>worse campaign amd final boss
True.
>worse specials
No and this is coming from someone who loved the Kraken in the first game. No more panic button invulnerability specials makes this game better.
>less content
You're comparing current Splatoon 2 with Splatoon 1 with updates.
>worse characters
The Squid Sisters is definitely better than Off the Hook. Removing Marina would improve this game, though.
Most of the content is already included in the game, it's just arbitrarily locked away. Which is why you don't need a patch to get any of the new weapons or maps.
nah
I sure did. I knew what I was getting when I bought it refurbished from Nintendo. It's good for Mario Kart 8, Smash, XCX, Zelda, and some VC games ported from the Wii that was given to me a few years earlier. I enjoyed the fuck out of XCX, thought Zelda was ok (but would constantly wonder otherwise), and play MK8 and Smash regularly with friends me and the wife invite over.
Sorry
But can you please explain how your in a relationship without being the one with money
Are you sure ages your gf and not just your caretaker
It literally impossible to get a gf when your broke, let alone a fucking nintenbro
>You're comparing current Splatoon 2 with Splatoon 1 with updates.
Why shouldn't he?
because you already paid for the "free" updates by buying a game where they intentionally held back 50% of the game for updates. Free updates are dope, but not at the cost of making you wait years for what you should've had access to from the start.
I hated this about Splatoon 1, I hate it about Splatoon 2. There's literally no reason to withhold content that's already completed and disc locked. The worst of which is the Brella which is perfectly functional but if you go through the effort to unlock the hero version you can't even use it yet.
you seem proud of this?
whatever, enjoy your "previously enjoyed" dead console with no portability i suppose
>It's not free because i say!
sad!
I didn't mind it much in Splat 1 because there was a fairly constant stream of content. We've only gotten weapons so far in 2. And only one per week.
I don't know what you expected from Nintendo. The first one had locked content on-disk that they released as a "free update" even though it was laughably barren on release. Splatoon is Nintendo's anti-consumer mindset at it's worst and I've never supported it nor will I ever do so.
The N-Gage was portable. Didn't make it good. If I had to pick one of the current portable consoles, it would be 3DS. If I had to pick a second, it would be Vita. The Switch has nothing I want, and is overpriced as fuck for a handheld.
How is it anti-consumer?
>You seem proud of this.
No, I'm just not ashamed, which is what you were trying to do when you did your >He bought a WiiU.
I knew what I was getting, and I don't regret getting it. Just because I'm not ashamed doesn't mean that I'm proud.
okay, and I don't regret getting Splatoon 2 for my Switch :)
>paid online for PvP
>unusable voice chat
>having to wait years to get the complete game only for them to release Splatoon 3 thus starting the whole process over again
They made it very clear that they were going to dripfeed content like the first game.
Ok. Still doesn't refute my original post. I'm grateful I didn't get suckered into buying the overpriced hunk of no-gaem crap that is the Switch.
Yeah, just suckered into buying a dead console with no portability :/
dude, it's $20 a *year* how poor are you?
>girlfriend acts as a mom to her manchild boyfriend
There's something really cute and sweet about this.
For an online service worse than the Wii U.
$40 for me actually if I want to play with my gf in the same room as me all for something that's been free since the 2006 and that will improve nothing because it's PvP
Was I suckered into buying a dead console when I got a SNES in 1992?
I got the Wii U when it was still alive, and had games that I wanted, which is more than the Switch has, portability or no.
you literally in a relationship founded upon the good boy points system?
Well really who isn't?
>worse campaign and final boss
Splatoon 2 didn't make me go through an entire level and face the final boss multiple times and then face the bosses final form at the end and if I died I had to do the whole thing from the beginning.
Is your girlfriend a squid or a kid?
at least with other consoles theirs ton of games if you pay for online. Nintendo games with online are so few between your options are mario kart and splatoon for like the next year and who knows
This is my issue with it, but hopefully the "Netflix" service will be good with added features.
Mario Maker was enough
The only way to kill Mario is Mario
she's an octoling
yeah like for the wiiu I played mario kart online for a week then dropped it, dropped smash after 90% of people online were spamming kids and went through spurts with splatoon where i would play fora solid week then drop for a few months.
cheap or not a year is not worth paying for that
Literally all wrong except for worse tickrate
