Those are the ones where James pretty much just sits down as James and talks about the history of video games. Or series reviews like Castlevania where he does the same thing. A lot of the humour has gotten stale or overblown, but James' passion for retelling his memory of vidya history is the reason I come back to AVGN vids.

Are you actually going to pretend that AVGN is above that and something else? Yes he did have a few episodes in which he talked about old consoles and shit, but those were a big minority. The only reason he got popular was because of the swearing, it was literally at the time when south park humor was at its top.

I remember thinking I could do the Back to the Future game, but it was ridiculous. Also some of Super Pitfall and Ghostbusters.

I remember someone posting the entire Plumbers don't wear ties game on youtube with annotations. I think its gone now. I think the 18+ clip got taken down too.

I played Action 52 way before AVGN did his review on it, because I searched stuff on YouTube like "worst game ever" in 2008, and I found out about Action 52, and I got curious about it enough to download the ROM. I also remember downloading Big Rigs for a laugh back in 2011, and I actually got it from /rs/, back when that board existed.

I remember quite liking Batman vs Robin on the SNES I think it was while he complained about it.

I played Bart vs the Space Mutants with my cousins back in the day, shit was impossible. We never got past the mall stage

I think I remember buying Superman 64 for laughs. I did play it as a kid on a bad rental. I don't remember if I went though the rings because I remember getting shot at by enemies. My mom told me to just follow the compass.

Spyro and Harry Potter had a similar ring section. I was actually suprised to find out about the game's reputation because of it.

I don't think I have favorite one, but I like first episodes. Back then he really looked angry, because of bad games. It was more natural.

The thing about Spyro's ring sections is that you only have to fly through 8 rings in each speedway stage, and it only takes around 10 seconds to fly through all of them.

The only magazine I've bothered collecting was the Official PS2 magazine back when I was a teenager. They had playable demo discs that came with them, so they were pretty cool.

SwordQuest wasn't a game of chance, if I remember correctly. It was just a game with really obscure clues, so everyone had an equal chance of winning if they put the time and effort in.
