Almost a 90 on Metacritic. Is it really that good?

if you listen to the soundtrack closely enough you can hear jim sterling crying

If you just go for the main story instead of the sidequests, it's quite good. Didn't enjoy the combat much, though.

It entirely depends on your taste. Personally, I thought Aloy was such an uninteresting and vapid character I could barely stand playing as her. Her goal in the game was stupid and unbelievable, none of the side characters helped make the journey bearable either. And the gameplay just isn't there, it's just cinematic shit. I might have suggested this game to friends if at least the gameplay was engaging, but sadly it wasn't.

The graphics sure are nice though.

paid reviews

fake reviews
paid news

Yea apparently if you don't play it you're a bigot too. Stronk wimen don't scare you right op?

Why do exclusive games always seem to get strangely high reviews, which are out of line with player retention/the general normie opinion?

I've played zelda (on cemu) and while very good I'd certainly say it was nowhere near what 97 would suggest.

It has the best presentation you'll find on a console but everything else leaves a lot to be desired.

No

It's ok.

Nioh DLC is better.

89 < 97

/thread

Literally no one is talking about Zelda but insecure Nintendo fans have to bring it up on reaction.

>why do games that are the only reason to buy a console get high reviews?
but seriously it's because they usually have higher budgets thanks to the console maker banking on exclusives to sell a game moreso than outright paid reviews, although undoubtable they throw a lot of cash at reviewers too

98

Oops made a mistake.

98>97

Try an actual good game first

>>why do games that are the only reason to buy a console get high reviews?
The vast majority of people only buy consoles for cod/fifa/gta, Sup Forums is not representative of reality.

i enjoyed it

How does the DLC work? Are you meant to beat the vanilla game first?

The only one talking about Zelda is you you fucking faggot fanboy

It's good, just sort of suffered from coming out at the same time as Breath of the Wild.

It automatically gets 10 to 15 extra points for being a console exclusive. So in reality it's probably somewhere in the low 70s

Gameplay is fun for a while, story is garbage. It's worth picking up if you can get it cheap.

>People hype up Horizon as a Zelda killer
>It's absolutely nothing like Zelda in any way, shape, or form
What is wrong with people

Watching Sup Forums still rage at this game never gets old. There was no persistence for Horizon to do as well as it did, other than fulfilling the Sup Forums curse of always being wrong. It's a by the numbers open world game game that scored an 89 and sold a three million copies for no reason.

Just like Fnaf, Undertale, Overwatch, and PUBG, I'll never stop laughing at Sup Forums for crying endlessly over games they wanted so badly to fail, or irrationally hate once it went mainstream.

Misleading advertising, they made the game out to be much more than it actually is.

Yeah I don't get that shit.

Its more a Witcher 3 clone with better combat.

>Thought it would be like a Monster Hunter but with machines
>Nope, just another AAA third person shooter with a bow instead of anything actually interesting

Not good, not bad, praised for being a Sony exclusive game. It'll live in infamy on Sup Forums because of how badly people wanted it to fail. Not hating on it though, because console wars are childish.

Hopefully they improve the sequel.

How did you enjoy playing on easy mode?

hopefully they get better writers

Like all Guerilla Games games, it is a kinda sorta decent game with HOLY SHIT THE BEST FUCKING LORE EVER PLEASE GOD MAKE A GAME ABOUT THE FARO PLAGUE I'LL STRAIGHT SUCK A DICK FOR THAT SHIT

Is it weird that people praise this game for how lacking it was in pre-orders/season pass bullshit?

First game in a long time where it's the complete package. You pay $60 for a game and you expect to get your moneys worth. They gave you an extra hard mode for free for god's sake.

the games piss easy regardless of what difficulty you play on, once you get some good mods and a frost weapon everything dies very quickly even on the highest difficulty

This. The writing and dialogue is awful.

Pretty much this. The game is pretty and the premise is kind of interesting, but Aloy is bland and does nothing to give away that she has a personality outside "Let me help you, stranger".
The only thing that differentiates her from the other NPCs is that she has a earmuff that let's her use Google to cheat her way out of everything.

Gameplay is almost there, but it falls into the Witcher 3 category of combat. It's repetitive and most of the time you're just gonna be shooting the robots' weak points to deal damage. Health system is ass, since you need a shit ton of herbs to heal and it's time consuming to actually find them. Robots get old quick, and since there is basically only a few viable strategies to bring them down, you're going to be avoiding most of the fights since you're gonna be full of resources any how.

It's a nice game and in between missions you forget that the protag is as interesting as soap and the story is being dragged by a dead horse. It's better than what I was expecting, but it's a 7/10 at most.

115 Critics were paid off. Nothing new here.

Personally I found the game really boring and got a strange uncanny valley feeling from it. Played a few hours when I got my PS4 a few months ago and dropped it. Haven't played it since.

I haven't touched easy and it's still easier than most games on easy. Before I got to the Sunkeep or whatever, I had full sneaky gear, all the weapons and purple mods in them. The game gives you everything way too easily and makes you OP if you decide to do a few cauldrons or, god-forbid, sidequests.

Glorious Sony bonus.

It's great.

What's great about it?

Yes. The gameplay is fun and challenging and rewards planning, creativity and reflexes. The side activities are the best in any open world game due to How varied they are. The main story that deals with the past is intriguing, but I found the main story that deals with the present quite boring (switch them for execution, however). I also found the sidequests quite boring. The game is quite gorgeous also.

>The vast majority of people only buy consoles for cod/fifa/gta, Sup Forums is not representative of reality.
You're deluded if you think this is true. Console games sell by the fucktons. Nowhere near as much as FIFA, COD, GTA, but still.

1 mil bloodborne vs 40 mil gta

>Comparing a souls game on a single platform to a multiplat GTA game
Come on, son.
