I hate to say it, but i agree with Polygon/Arthur Gies. i been playing Mania all day since 12 o clock. and it feels like The Force Awakens of Sonic Games at best.

hi arin

Fuck off, Gies.

>no mention of said problems, rather than a simple "it's bad because it's bad, lol"
>"I agree with him"
if you are simple-minded/retarded/a millenial

So what are the problems? Or is it just cool to hate sonic cause of his 3D trash

>i agree with polygon
then you're a fucking retard
there's a 100% chance they both didn't play the game and have never played a sonic game before in their entire lives and are just basing this entire review on what they expect reviewer rhetoric to be on the game
just like all their other reviews since it became very plainly obvious that nobody at polygon can hold a controller, let alone finish a motherfucking game

it has a bit too many bugs and could have used more zones

I've been playing it all day and it might be my GOTY

Fuck off gies werent you leaving polygon and fucking off of gamming to concentrate on you "art"

Why are you still reviewing games

He said series problems though, I don't think bugs count under that with 2D sonic. Aren't there 12 zones also?

:o)

The fact that platformer and fast speed don't really mesh together at all

The fact that it's a game based around trial and error rather than actual skill

(You)

Good argument kiddo

His complaints basically boil down to "It's too hard"

I think its the mentally some people have
> Sonic is about being fast but leveldesign makes me slow :(
which is dumb but I dont care
look man in the 2 hours I played Sonic Mania I encounterd 3 glitches that killed me and 2 audio bugs

can I have the Sup Forumserdict on mania, I don't want to start another thread.

I want to play the game and support modders getting into the industry but the price tag seems a little to high for what it is.
I have played all 2d sonics, when I was a kid and always have a soft spot for it as it's nostalgia because I used to play them with my mother.

So its for fans of the original games? Thats alright then

$20 is a very fucking fair price you poorfag

Arthur Gays

It's true though. Isn't Sonic Mania just doing the same thing that the NSMB games get crucified for doing?

It's really not though. Like, if you play for even a couple stages; you start to realize the patterns of typically WHERE you're going to get fucked up if you get carried away. It's designed to teach you to pay attention to the game's tells. It's solid game design and if you can't learn how to play well by the end of the game; that's on your unwillingness to learn.

not for a sprite based rom hack that will take me 2 hours to complete

The guy was complaining about the amount of zones which is absurd. This is one of only two 2D Sonic games that are a lot bigger than the rest.

It should be pretty clear that poster hasn't played Mania.

Speed works with a platformer, just not the 16 bit era of "hardware is good enough to make large detailed character sprites, but not good enough to make large detailed environments to go with them, so we'll zoom right the fuck in on the character sprite and have them take up a good chuck of the screen space so you can't see very far in front of them" platformers

buy it
Is Sonic Mania's sin being boring

Not really. It's more doing the thing that MM9 did.

>I can't hold right to win, so it's bad

Mania is either the best or second-best Sonic game ever made.

>implying arthur gies even picked up a controller before slamming this review out in 15 minutes

I meant more new zones.

>polygon
>in any position to judge a game in any way

>4 different setups for playing through not counting &knuckles mode
>lots of things to collect that unlock more gameplay
>time trials
>competition mode
If you enjoy the game, you can squeeze way more than $20 of fun out of it.

>"haha sonic is just hold right to win"
>run into obstacle that stops you from holding right to win
>"wow what do you mean i can't just hold right to win this game is retarded"

Pretty much this. Game jurnos hate old game mechanics because they can't progress in the game because of them. Expect a litanny of "Why I'm absolute shaking over continues still being in games" and "2017 gamers just expect more out of their cutscenes"

>mfw he complains about losing progress due to having to start zones over because the game is too hard
>"it feels like i lost progress for no reason!"

and this is why the Gameboy Advance Sonic games are the best ones.

>he complains about losing progress due to having to start zones over because the game is too hard
please for the love of kek source me the link

>I can't hold right to win, so it's good

Top Tip!

on the Sonic Mania splash screen press B,Y and + on the "press any button" prompt when the debug menu is open go to sound test and select track 17

after that prepare to cum

have you tried the classic sonic cheat codes. U,D,L,R,A,B,C start

>That first sentence
Is he saying it's ok to be a shitty writer if you blame the product for making you a shitty writer?

Anyone else feel like a lot of the levels are way, WAY too long? I timed out on fucking Press Garden. I have never, ever timed out in any sonic game ever.

Well yes, they needed to prove they could make a good Classic Sonic game before using that knowledge to help the modern series.

It feels like the "À la merveille"
of Malick at worst

First they raped Duck Tales.
Now another garbage nostalgia cash grab.
This is awful summer isn't it

>listening to polygon
>ever

>SJWs have better taste than Sup Forums
well well well
