Are there any good methods to avoiding/distracting the alien in Alien Isolation? Most of the time I'll just hide when it starts to pop up on my motion tracker, but this means that I'll usually end up being stuck hiding again and again in the same area because I'm too scared to risk bumping into it. This means that a majority of my time playing the game is spent desperately trying to hide from the beast, instead of actually exploring and getting into the story.

Do you guys have any tips for me? I really want to beat the game now that I've watched Alien 1-3 and better understand the lore, but I'm just so unsure of how to proceed.

Hiding behind crates is a way more effective method of avoiding the Alien from what I've found. It allows you to keep tabs on exactly where the Alien is and also doesn't carry the risk of the Alien "learning" that you're hiding somewhere and yanking you out of a hiding spot.

Open world style silent hill type game where the random NPCs are like in silent hill 2 like pizza boy. Design boss fights around melee only, make multiple different stories like resident evil 6 but they dont cross each other. You could play as parent looking for child, someone looking for spouse, or person that just gets lost asks for directions in town and spooky warp happens.

I get sleep paralysis frequently enough that I've learned to deal with it by slowly forcing myself back into motor control. Only, the spooky fucking demon who causes this shit in me has caught wise and has decided that instead of letting me control my own goddamn body, I'm better off hallucinating that I've done so, repeatedly, first.

One night, it starts up, nothing too bad, just stuck in my bed. I think I'm regaining control, I fall out of bed and slowly struggle over to my roommate's room (because having another person there usually helps immensely). Get there, their room is completely empty (like, no furniture or anything), and suddenly I'm snapped back into my bed.

Get up again and make it to my bedroom door, tangled in blankets. Try to call out as loud as I can. Only get a dry, quiet "ahhhhh". Collapse to the ground, and suddenly I'm back in bed again, still paralyzed.

This time I decide I'm going to focus on each and every movement and sensation to ensure I'm staying grounded in reality. Slowly force my leg back to motor function. Feel the blanket on my body. Feel the sheets rubbing as I slowly drag my leg over to the side of the bed. Feel myself plant a foot on the ground below.

Just fucking kidding. I'm actually lying on my back, and there's no escaping until this fit is damn well done with me, and has no concerns about making me doubt my own perception to get me to stay there.

you can make a game that is sort of a maze, maybe forest, or some abandoned city. You are by yourself and walk around the area trying to leave, but everytime you take a wrong direction, you hear like a grunt/steps/groans/whispers, the idea is that nothing is after you but the sounds will make you take a different direction to not confront what is hidden in the dark. if you decided to continue where the sound is, then make sound more louder and add more to add a threatening feeling
