It's (in my personal experience) not a very fun game to play nowadays because it isn't novel. There isn't much nuance to the gameplay mechanics and it is deeply repetitive. As a comparison, Doom for example is still fun to me because of the variety and Super Mario is still fun because the momentum-based movement is fun.

I'm fine with it as is, I've played it back in the day, but I doubt modern gamers will have any interest. Same goes for graphics, it's fine if you got used to it way back, but to a new player they might be quite offputting.
