How do you acquire your video games?

How do you acquire your video games?

Buyfags not welcome.

I buy them

I steal them

I rob them

I buy them

I use torrents and ddls.

I download them telepathically through .astralconnection.eth

I buy them

You can try mega links from pcgames-download or igg-games.

I make them

i buy them

I bake them

Yes hello my fellow Sup Forums 4Channers, it is your fellow anonymous user here looking to find out where all of us download our games illegally! I really hate those big corporations, I really enjoy stealing their products!
Let us all share our information with eachother to strengthen our illegal pirating network!

I don't play video games.

Direct downloads.
The whole seeding thing doesn't work well for rare games.
Few years back couldn't find KH1FM anywhere.

I buy them

>not just writing codes of 1's and 0's that magically create a video game made by someone.

>buyfags not welcome
sorry for supporting your hobby so you can free ride, user-kun

>stealing
I don't think you know what that word means.

the sooner the video game industry completely dies, the better

What is the AB of video games?

>secrit club

>How do you acquire your video games?
I don't

>want gaem
>open tbp
>download gaem
>scan for viruses
>fire up gaem
I also watch rips by yify and brrip
Pleb and proud

I BUY my games from GOG.COM with MONEY.

By the way, there's weekly Sales on GOG.COM

>Let the mental gymnastic olympics begin
>It is not stealing vs stealing
>who is gonna take the gold?
Why do you fags even care just pirate/don't pirate. Whatever.

>animebyte

kek
join a real tracker you faggot

Name ONE(1) better tracker for weebshit.

Bit Che.

If they are cheap I buy them from Steam because pirating is a hassle.

If they cost 60$ I pirate them.

>pirating is a hassle
How so?

I exchange them for them with a portion of currency

I lie them
I cheat them
I steal them

I support good devs after pirating their games.

i play them for free

>have to buy vpn
>have to configure vpn
>have to add exceptions to firewall
>have to actually find torrent/seeder which is hard for old and niche games
>have to block the game exe in firewall
>sometimes releases are bugged and have problems with saving games, have to find external fixes

It's annoying, if a game is

You could get on a private tracker. It's a little bit of work, but if you're a cheapfag it's pretty nice.

Where do I get artbooks and such?

...

taken from us too soon. the world was never going to be ready for only chavo jr. to exist

>have to buy vpn
don't live in burgerland
>have to configure vpn
don't live in burgerland
>have to add exceptions to firewall
this is only in specific products with a very "clutch" crack for a lack of a better term. For most games you don't need to to this.
>have to actually find torrent/seeder which is hard for old and niche games
Bit Che. Also don't live in burgerland/emuland and own a decent internet
>have to block the game exe in firewall
nope
>sometimes releases are bugged and have problems with saving games, have to find external fixes
there are less problem in pirated games than there are in the DRM-riddled legally obtained ones.

you don't pirate.

what

I pirate all of console games
But i buy all of the pc games because i'm paranoid and don't want to get rootkit or bitcoin miner.

>there are none
that's what a thought, big boy

I smuggle them

>Ask how people acquire video games.
>There are two possible choices.
>Tell people only one choice is welcome, thereby removing the choice at all and making the question that starts the thread completely pointless and irrelevant.

Saged.

>Bit Che
Fucking commies
When you're downloading illegally, you're downloading (((communism)))

how do you come to the conclusion of only two possible choices?

Good job living in a third world shithole and not having to take any safety measures.
>there are less problem in pirated games than there are in the DRM-riddled legally obtained ones.
Bullshit.

>you don't pirate.
Back to you, you have no idea what you are talking about.

...

You either buy them.

Or you don't buy them.

I let my wifes son steal them for me

>Good job living in a third world shithole and not having to take any safety measures.
My country has ISP companies with integrity, and legislation that protects my rights and I live in a shithole. Ok.
>Bullshit.
Nope. You obviously do not know what piracy is. I have the same game, with the same files as your bought one. Except that I can just click the exe and it'll play. If you for whatever reason can't access steam you can't play. Or the in-game DRM fucks up, and you can't play. That's the only difference between a game cracked by reputable team, and a bought version. I don't have DRM, you have. The game is the same.

Why do people pirate games on pc anymore? If it's too expansive for you, just buy it on a key shop for half the price.

been subbed to Humble Monthly for a while but I've rarely activated the games I've gotten, so I started trading them for games I wanted to play or already pirated.

Because half the price is still too expensive.

>Why do people pirate games on pc anymore?

why do you think?

So wait one more month when it is 1/3.

But that's also still too expensive.

I love this argument. It really shows the anti-piracyfags true colours. Your problem is not the concept of piracy itself, you just hate that someone got something for free. Key shops like g2a are exponentially worse than piracy because they sell actually stolen keys (see Natural Selection 2) that cause actual financial problems to companies. Not losing potential sales, but actually losing money.

anything more than free is too much. Even if it's a penny

What do you mean by this?
You don't have the money or "the company doesn't deserve my money because this game doesn't satisfies my impossible standards of quality, like every other game ever created"?

The former, I'm dirt poor also I'm fucking around.

people can either wait for months in hopes of a discount or get it now for free

why is this a confusing concept to you

Burgerland is a third world shithole, at least judging by the fact that all the employment growth is focussed on jobs like waitressing and waste removal, about 50m people have food insecurity, job growth for the uneducated far outpaces that of the educated, about 20% of families are completely unemployed, record levels of homelessness in places like NYC, and so on.

Pirating games on PC is literally stupid, going through all of the bullshit to find some crappy Russian unpacker on a barely seeded torrent that probably isn't even the most updated version of the game (which you have to track down separately) then trying to find the DLC and other shit is a hassle and will end up getting you viruses and malware. It just isn't worth it when shit is so cheap, constant sales and websites like G2A selling things for 10% of their RRP value.

I nick em from a vendor

You obviously don't pirate

>trying to find out what to crack down on
Fuck off shill

thank you so much kind G2A representative, i know where im going for my next purchase!

If you're really that poor and you can't sincerely afford games even at very low price, I honestly have no problem with piracy in this case.

I pirate DS and 3DS games, pirated Skyrim.
I buy the rest since I'm a TF2 tradefag and some games require steam to play online

>Buyfags not welcome.

Be that as it may, bragging about being a cheapskate is ill-advised.

>being elitist about living in a 3rd world shithole
>knowing how to take basic safety measures means that people "don't know what piracy is"

Top kek user. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Buy games on steam, download it with 20mb/s, get refund, use the crack patch

I mean, you're kinda right.
You can play it for free now and then support the company buying the game on discount.

This.

Pirating for consoles where it's as simple as downloading the ISO and loading it onto your emulator or softmodded console is safe and convenient, but PC is a clusterfuck

what if you build them

>go to torrent/direct dl site
>search for game
>torrent/download it
>mount and install
>play

woooow such a clusterfuck. totally harder than modding a console or figuring out how to use an emulator

>click one button
>downloaded
WOOOOOOOWWW SO HARD

Are you retarded? I am an idort and piracy on PC is 10 times better, I say this as someone who pirates on both platforms.

what? do you live in some sort of police state? pirating is easier than ever nowadays.

>no burning shit to cd or dvd

>either no drm or the installer automatically copies the cracked files

>most consoles are softmoddable, so no buying modchips and soldering

>no keygens or manuals with 100 codes that you have check the right one every time you launch a game

>because internet is fast, you don't need to wait hours for downloads or actually buy pirated copies

>almost anything is very easy to find

to be honest I kinda miss the old days when you had to put at least minimal effort to all that shit. now it's just eh whatever.

>reddit spacing

>>most consoles are softmoddable, so no buying modchips and soldering
Old gen consoles. You can't pirate on PS4 or Xbone unfortunately.

I sell them

>reddit posting

Isn't it common for torrent clients to have the option to encrypt traffic nowadays? I assume forcing encryption would result in less peers but that seems like a fair trade for free security.

Torrent some, buy some
I usually buy games I've pirated if I liked them enough once they hit a sale

also
>buy game
>install size 65gb because you have to have full brazil and poland voiceovers
>pirate game
>install size 20gb because smart torrent maker cut out all unnecessary bullshit
thank you scene

Repackers aren't scene groups but yeah it is nice to have the option to get a version with just one language.

Have anyone ever got caught in your country for pirating?

>Stealing
>Rights
Third world is weird.

What exactly is a VPN? Sorry, for the stupid question. l'm a retard. Been doing it for years without one and been good so far.

I buy them.

Usually through Steam, but sometimes through GOG or Origin.

Feels good to support the people who make the games I enjoy :)

A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, is a separate IP that you can use to have more privacy on the internet.

I'd tell you to do a web search but you'd probably reply 'what's a web search?'

I use torrents but never seed.

unless those are indie games, you aren't
devs don't get residuals and the people who actually are getting that money actively hurt the devs and the games themselves :^)

>things I pay for
Certain games that are only available on Steam
FFXIV subscription
Games from developers I like very much, that have not abused my trust whatsoever and aren't sketchy as fuck
porn that's unavailable anywhere else, after exhausting my contacts on Skype, Discord, and TeamSpeak and after rigorous searching

>things I don't pay for
music, ever
99% of my porn
80% of all my games
I don't tip

Out of the many games I've pirated, I've either:
>Physically purchased them before
or
>Bought a copy from the developers or Steam to support them

There's maybe 8-10 games I've tried, but didn't feel like paying for because they were either:
a: Too expensive for the price:fun ratio, $59 game is not worth if you're going to play for maybe 10 hours tops

b: something I'd play for less than 25 hours

Still gonna pirate, I don't understand moral fags. If you make a game that's good, and aren't a shitty developer, I'm more than happy to support you guys. A copied game isn't a lost sale, it's a customer you haven't won over yet.

Web search?
Thanks, user. I guess my ISP doesn't give a shit what l do.
