>tfw got my switch pretty damn effortlessly without pre-ordering
>tfw see this

Nintendo is anti consumer trash

3rd post for jelly ponies to show up

You can say that about any business. Nintendo was just retarded for having the Switch share parts with the iPhone 8

I sold my switch used and got $475 for it from some desperate mom. I don't know why Nintendo is artificially limiting the amount of supply but man they could beat PS4 if they didn't do that.

that's just pathetic and embarrassing

What went wrong?

man. sony em' are devastated the Switch is doing good, Jesus

>guy goes to 48 stores in district
>some guy has been trying to get a switch for his kid since may but cant

jesus christ nintendo

Okay

>I don't know why Nintendo is artificially limiting the amount of supply

It's just business as usual with them. They do this all the time to create a artifical shortage and with that comes tons of scalpers buying it up before regular gamers get to buy them.

It's basically a way to generate hype and demand. They pulled this many times in the past with various games. I remember when stores stopped taking preorders of fire emblem awakening like a month before it even came out.

>le artificial scarcity meme

The real reason is that they dont debt finance their production phases, and only operate on their actual money. Its why they have great margins and have a great RoE

I spent like 17~18 hours F5ing the brand new Nintendo Store to pre-order mine back in January. My blood was all carbs and caffeine by the end but it was worth it I think. Cheaper than buying it back home too.

yea it's pretty scary i saw a 50+ queue in a department store which usually didn't have many people when i was in hokkaido two weeks ago

Never forget.

I mention I sold my switch because I got mroe money out of it, planned to buy it again later and you get this mad enough to post a cringy anime pic calling me a sony fan lmao

Imagine when Pokemon comes out

Is that yen? How much is 2600 to USD? I only payed $40 for Splatoon 2 brand new.

why dont they just buy one on the internet

...

situation is the same

and overseas stores dont have or dont deliver to Japan, those that do deliver to japan or using a 3rd party service means the prices of the console wont be different that scalpers

this sounds about right, they don't like taking on debt risking lower sales and build as income is available
however you'd think they'd do some kind of public poll

100 yen is roughly 1 dollar.

Original price is about 6500 yen

It would be around US$23-24. It's the trade-in price.

why is there such a fervor though?

there's nothing to play yet

>splatoon 2
>24$
wut

>artificially limiting

Component shortage retards.

This is exactly it. Nintendo doesn't take on debt to pay for production and doesn't overproduce so they don't have to pay through the nose for warehouse space. That's why their profits have been steady throughout the decades while the other manufacturers go into the red with every generation.

without any knowledge of future inventory, who knows, it might be even worse when the big titles come out

Why do a poll? The only person they answer to is their shareholders who im guessing are happy with their 35% payout ratio

That's how much they are buying it off of people for.

Neat. Thanks.

EU yes!

yeah saw after that

are there any downsides to buying an out of country Switch now that region locking is not a thing anymore? can I have English text on a Japanese switch?

What's the point of this anyway. Japan second hand stores don't screw over customers like they do in the US?

That's a buyback price if you don't know. Pretty good price actually, which mean people are not that willing to part with the games.

or there's so much of a demand that stores are willing to pay back 50% of retail value because they know that they will get a return on it real soon

US actually. Went to a Walmart that had five in-stock. When I got there, the store was deserted and was in and out with a brand-new Switch in like five minutes. Granted it was an hour away and it was 7 in the morning, beats buying one from a scalper or waiting in a damn lottery.

speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/73wc4c9fxo09m6ch

Why do nintendo produce not enough stock?

Is it a business strategy?

they are fighting with Apple for parts

Stupid nips. There aren't even any games out for it yet. Just wait till they get restocked properly.

Apple is aggressively buying out all NAND storage for the iPhone 8. They can wait that out or get into a bidding war with Apple's flagship product.

Did you even read the thread

Apple vs Nintendo
who do you think wins? c'mon

>Switch Launch
>Friend is in big city messaging me about his 6 hour adventure in walmart waiting in line with a bunch of others.
>Was hesitant on getting switch, 30 mins before release I decided to call my small town local walmart for in stock
>Arrived 5 mins before launch, no other people were there, pretty much walked in and walked out no hassle.
>Friend is messaging me how he is still waiting in line 30 mins after launch because a bunch of idiots are taking forever to checkout.
>the amount of butt hurt from friend was great.

It's not just Apple, it's Samsung as well. Nintendo used the most modern shit but it bit them in the ass. I'm still glad they did it, the last time Nintendo did it was with N64 and GC.

>artificially
stopped reading here, fuck off

>tfw ordered mine online
>got it in a week
>People see me with it and ask how the fuck I managed to get one

Similar here. Drove to a Wal-Mart at like 10 in the morning and luckily for me they had like 15 switches in stock. Snagged it just before the Splatfest testfire.

They finally sold out after a week of being there.
