Wow, apparently...

Wow, apparently, the Commandos games on Steam all got updates in 2016 and are now perfectly playable on modern systems in widescreen resolutions. Currently replaying Behind Enemy Lines and it's just as much fun as back in the days.

Why has this genre almost vanished? Why can't we get a new Commandos and what do you think of Shadow Tactics?

I just picked up Shadow Tactics yesterday and so far I'm loving it. This genre isn't for brainlets so it died.

It comes from a time when games required REAL strategy.

NIPPLES

>those piercing nipples on the spy

Never noticed.

ahn celesta
alarm

...

guess its time to take a stab at them, ended up buying them a long time ago for 60 cents but didnt want to have to patch them

I only played desperados and it's really fun

I've been playing commandos too for much the same reason. I just wish commandos 2 didn't switch resolutions constantly every time you open a menu. Shadow Tactics was fucking wonderful, exactly what I would want out of a new game in the genre.

merodii~

Yeah, I bought them in 2014. Never picked them up again until yesterday, because I assumed they were still broken.

Pretty much agree with this, but I have never tried Strike Force. What went wrong there? Different defs?

What is the best Commandos 2 mission, and why is it Bridge over the river Kwai?

>I have never tried Strike Force. What went wrong there?
It was a first person shooter, that should tell you everything.

I may get it. I remember playing Commandos 2 long ago and it was fucking fantastic.

I was surprised how good the VA was in ST, both JP and Eng

but you can clear the missions on the highest difficulty with cigarettes + silent takedown

patrols are more of an issue but you can clear them with a single molotov or grenade

Yeah, and judging by the cover it didn't even feature the original Commandos. That's what I wonder. Why did they try to take the series into a completely different direction?

Can't wait to see if they have an expansion planned for Shadow Tactics or something. I'd love that.

got Commandos 2 and it's still the same old version.

On Steam? Usually, you should be able to play the new patched version or the old "legacy version" on startup.
