It's fun. Lots of nice development for the classic characters, tons of great new designs and world building. Bad animation plagues a ton of great anime. There's really very few non-film anime that are legitimately well animated.

To expand on that, Super gets shit on by those who don't want to let go of Z and need blood and grittier animation (super animation is fine, don't be so nitpicky).
To me, Super is a perfect balance of the wackiness of the original Dragon Ball and DBZ's epic fights (while having a faster pace).

Re-watch the whole show even into the JP super eps of recently. It's worth it because super shows dragon ball and dr slump some love.

I've seen a lot of shounen and super definitely has better animation than most of them and it's improved within the new arc, but you'd still expect more from DB. the main issue is fight choreography in my opinion which is primarily because they can't copy the manga.

The first episodes try very hard to replicate the formula of the original Dragonball, travelling, finding dragonballs, some minor fights and generally wacky moments.
They realized very soon they failed hard to replicate it, so they started the Baby saga which is more similar to Dragonball Z. Even then, the fights are a disgrace and the designs of both Baby and SSJ4 are terribly ugly.
The episodes after that are KINDA better, with the Shenrons and Super 17. But they are still a far cry from Dragonball Z.
