Name a more complex element in an action adventure game than Dodge-Offset
Protip: You can't.
Name a more complex element in an action adventure game than Dodge-Offset
Bayo's design is so fucking slick
dmc4 style switching and jump canceling
It's not really complex
I'd say inertia and invert directional inputs from DMC are more complex and open up for more interesting possibilities
>jump canceling
What is this? Never played it
...
Almost any AT from DMC4. Try getting a level 3 Exceed mid-combo, shit is tough as fuck.
how is it complex? it's pretty simple to learn
I don't think that's what he means. Lv3 ex isn't complex its just difficult to do.
Lvl 3 Mid-combo exceed is far more complex than dodge offset. Hell, dodge offset isn't complex at all.
...
I love Dodge Offset but it's not really complex. You're literally just holding a button to store your combo while you cartwheel around.
Wonderful 101's assist combos are ridiculously versatile and require a lot of creativity and skill to use optimally.
Both aren't complex. Ex you just press the ex button at the right time that's not "complex."
Dodge offset you just hold the attack while you dodge. That's not "complex."
Bioshock Infinite bell puzzle
W101 had such a ridiculous learning curve, I never really felt sure that I was playing correctly
Fantastic game though
Bayo a cute
Bamham's parry mechanic.
It really made me feel like i was really playing as batman when I mastered it.
Why do people act like Dodge offset is some hidden trick used only by the elite?
...
KH2 revenge values.
>Complex
Dodge Offset is literally nothing. You're just continuing your combo from where you left off after a dodge. The way you have to use it is also not intuitive, a pointless extra step of holding an attack button while dodging.
...
...
>not intuitive
In what way? It let's you either continue your combo after a dodge or not.
Like I said both aren't complex.
Yes they are. Also what is this?
>hold attack button during a dodge
>complex
>Dude you just hold one button while pressing another that's not hard
>YES IT IS
I mean it might be hard if you're like 6 or 60 and you've never played videogames before and you have cerebral palsy.
Otherwise it's really kind of simple compared to DMC4's style-switching mechanics. Some stances have you basically holding the controller differently so it takes a lot of manual dexterity as well.
People went back and modded in style switching in DMC3 and it's even more nuanced and complex with how fucking solid a game DMC3.
W101 is even more complex than Bayonetta could ever hope to be lol.
Of course when it comes to truly difficult execution and challenge, nothing will be high level Mahvel heads dueling it out. Not only are you battling against someone way more intelligent and unforgiving than a CPU, you can literally lose a round in < 10 seconds.
I'm sick of Platinum using it in every fucking game
What other games do this? I just knew about Bayo
Bayonetta is the only one game that do this
...
>Bayonetta is the only one game that do this
youtube.com
Even fucking MGR has dodge offset
MGR's Sam has it.
The game never even tells you about it.
Oh... Got it. So what the hell is jumping cancel? From DMC4
Jump on a enemy to reset aerial actions quota (1 double jump, 1 airdash, 1 teleport, etc.) and cancel moves animation.
The most simple one is Divekick-Jump up when the feet reach the enemy-Divekick again and repeat (hard as shit to do in 4 for some reason, in 3 it's almost a crutch)
>in 3 it's almost a crutch
only if you're a scrub
Thanks
