I bought it in beta, but I'm too much of a pussy to play it. The atmosphere is pretty good.

I bought it back in 2014 when it was in EA and it doesn't seem to have changed much upon final release.

pribby spooky and pribby good. I'd definitely recommend it if you like indie horror games.

Want to also know what this game is like. It lists itself as an rpg? How so? Length? Pros/cons with gameplay? I know the setting is 2spoopy5you so I just want objective gameplay qualities.

OP here, I played the game for 2 hours now.
It is pretty scary, especially because you feel defenseless most of the time and I didn't get to have many weapons so far.
You can gain perks, but for every positive perk you have to choose a negative one as well.

how terrible is the combat on a scale from GTA 1 to 10

I only really fought one enemy in the prologue, so I can't say much, but it was pretty ok. You take time to charge weapons and they also have an alternative attack mode.
I tried to fight an elk later and got my ass kicked so I had to run.
I would say you should avoid combat for the most part, which isn't a bad thing since that means you can't just kill everything you come across.

I am contemplating buying this. It's been on my wishlist for a while. Is it a buggy shit show? How are the controls? KB&M or controller?

It has KB&M controls, but you can also play it with a controller.
I didn't come across any bugs yet, but I haven't played enough of the game to see if it has enough content to recommend a buy as of now.
It does have an awesome atmosphere tho.

the trailer looks comfy

I got sum darkwood you can play with, whiteboi

astroturf thread

Not sure about the furry start though

For 14 bucks it's probably pretty short. whatever. might just wait for a sale. thanks for the info bitchnigger.

The two guys worked on it for 5 years so maybe it'll have the 'depth' of Stardew.

I have played around 4 hours so far:
The RPG claim is a bit much. There are characters you speak to, they have their own storylines and you can upgrade you character, but that is about it. It is a bit more focused on story than the average roguelike.
In the 4 hours I have played I have reached the second safe haven, there are 6 of these or around that number.
Gameplay so far has been pretty enjoyable. Fighting has some good weight to it thanks to animations. Hitting a dog will stagger it, same with humanoids. Everyone has their own animations so combat feels natural and weighty. I have died once so far, you need to play smart and slow.

where's a demo?

Any vids or webms so far? Kinda interested in this.

there is one guy on youtube i found with 15mins of game play. downloading now. will report back. i can't be assed to make webmasters though.

can someone tell me if this game has an end or not or how is it
is there any replayability?

You can play it with permadeath, so I guess the replayability comes from that rather than from replaying it after beating it.

It seems like there is for sure an end to it.
You are working towards a concrete goal from the beginning.

What the fuck was his problem?

Also he told me something about the porcelain duck and how great it would be for a wedding, does that mean I can use it somehow at the Wedding location?

i replay it after beating it once a day at least if you catch my drift haha

>Is it good?

I don't know mr. Dev, but I'm sure you're about to tell us it is.

How can you find the Wedding door code anyway?

No idea. I had to scram after a few minutes because it was getting dark. I have no clue what the fuck I'm doing.

Is there a time limit of some kind? Will I be fucked if I wait for too long?

What is the bed for? I wasn't able to use it so far.

for fucking wolfman on

I dunno why, but the premise of this game reminds me of the horror short "AM1200"

You guys should check it out during the next stormy night vimeo.com/102372269

I bet you will run out of resources if you fuck around too much. Nights cost weapons and fuel.

After reading the reviews it seems like the game really prides itself in not having jump scares, which is a good thing! I genuinely don't think I'd be able to play it otherwise.

What I want to know about is gameplay. What do I do? I understand collecting supplies and crafting and surviving is essential like every other survival game, but how does combat work? Is the game combat centric at all? Will I be fighting stuff later in the game? Crafting guns? What's up with that?

I know I can just buy the game and refund if it is shit but I'd rather not do that process for every small indie game I come across.

You can craft a pellet gun, nail boards etc. but I think you want to avoid combat if you can.
The first negative perk makes you vulnerable to shadows, which means you have to stay at home and have the generator run during midnight as far as I understand.
The combat is fine, you stagger enemies with fully charged attacks.
I don't know what combat is like in late game yet.

via night event. next time you hear knocking on the door, open it

not really, becuse the trader appears every morning and you get rep from surviving the nights
