PUBG players are retards.

That's nowhere near ridiculous level as far as cosmetic items on steam go. Not sure why you are so appalled by it NOW.
Free Market Economics.
If something is rare and people want it you can sell it for alot. If someone likes PUBG enough they would see the price as worth it. Ive spent more than 100 bucks on games I like, and 2 years ago I was able to sell a DOTA item for 60 bucks. And for rare cosmetics 150 bucks is cheap, items in TF2 and CSGO go above 200 for the good stuff.
I opened one csgo case on sunday and got a knife I sold for $400, it's already in my bank account. I'll take whatever free money games want to give me.
Wasn't it $500 a week or two ago?
thanks Gaben for the free $400
agree
>demand high + supply low looks the same as demand low + supply high
How do you even read this fucking graph?
fpbp
They always confuse the fuck out of me for a few seconds too. It's like this.
At Price X, the quantity demanded is QD, and the quantity supplied is QS.
>get a dragon lore in a drop in CS
>3000€ in my bank account the day after
easiest money i ever made desu
t. communistic brainlet
by not being color blind.
Valve was a mistake
I can't wait the government states regulating crates for what they are, gambling, and fuck the vidya jews up for peddling this shit to kids.
>early access game has items that you can buy on the steam market
Doesn't explain why people want artificially scarce virtual mini skirts in the first place. (the answer is Jews)
>1000+ people want to pay over 120 shekels for it
Guess it's time to make a scam game myself. These idiots literally throw money at you for absolutely nothing.
I couldn't be happier. I've already almost made my money back from selling crates to retards.
>decide one day to unbox a few cases for cs:go
>get a fucking karambit and flip knife
>sell both
>have 923 dollars in my steam account
I still haven't spent it all.
>free $400
>Probably used all of his Walmart paycheck to buy keys to open cases
The best thing about PUBG. I get to sell my crates the night they come out and make some cash. Played for all of four hours the night this update came out and I made 30 bucks on it, so I basically got the game for free.
People like the game
People want to feel special
You can only buy a limited amount of crates per week, and shitters can't buy them because they don't generate enough points to buy crates.
They pay premium for the rare skins
what's the appeal to this game anyway? honest question. i've never played any early acces survival game but this one looks and seems to play just like all those other ones. so whats the appeal?
But wait
If that's how it is, the demand and supply are always equal, so there's no reason for prices to be high or low.
Does the red line represent both demand and price while the blue only represents supply?
Parachutes.
>what's the appeal
It's a tactical/survival PvP game that is fun to play with friends, but I guess there's no appeal to you since you don't have any friends.
i thought it was a game about scavenger gear each round how does it have cosmetics?
can male characters wear them
asking for a friend
yes
This money goes to other players, not the devs or steam though. Only a very small portion goes to them.
Free market
>If that's how it is, the demand and supply are always equal, so there's no reason for prices to be high or low.
No, demand and supply trend towards equilibrium. It still takes time for them to get there.
So at time 1 the price is PX and the quantity demanded is QD and the quantity supplied is QS.
A week passes and now the price is PX-10, and the quantity demanded is QD+10 and the quantity supplied is QS-10.
Another week passes and now the price is PX-30 and the quantity demanded is QD+30 and the quantity supplied is QS-30.
And so on until equilibrium is reached. In theory, anyway.
literally the only post in this sub
How could any sane person have a $3,000 weapon skin in fucking Counter Strike and not immediately sell it?
These people are mentally ill
nice comeback user. i play other kinds of games with my friends if you catch my drift.
You sold a crate to someone for 5 cents and it contained a purple miniskirt that's worth $150. Who's the retard now?
Free market + sex appeal
>that is fun to play with friends
even call of duty is fun with friends m8
why should I play this instead of the other one hundered million games that are fun with friends?
It should be at least more fun than circlejerking and grabass.
Nigger Gaben takes a huge share for himself
Everyone wants to be the little girl
>mfw somebody bought my Orbiting Fire Team Captain on the market for $200
Silly boys
nah I only bought one key
what a weak attempt at one upping by a salty brainlet with poor reading comprehension
The 'quantity' of the x-axis it is referring to the quantity of both supply and demand. How the graph works is when either the supply or demand go up or down, the entire colored line moves right or left accordingly. When only one of them moves, or they move in opposite directions, that changes the y-value of the intersection, which is the price. Confusion comes because 'quantity' is a retarded ass name for the x-axis because is sounds so similar to supply.
hello junior level economics class. i hated that shit when they started adding in price elasticity and derivatives to further """enhance""" the supply/demand graph. i dont remember any of it now but it was pretty cool back in university
Dang dude it's like you haven't been paying attention to the Steam trading cards and shovelware games plot this past year.
Crates go for around a dollar each
Purple skirt is only avaliable in the Crate that requries a extra $2.5 key to open
>nah I only bought one key
That's easy to say behind your computer screen. Unless you show my solid PROOF that you received a knife from only buying one key, then I will believe you.
Okay, that makes sense. I'm used to my graphs having lines that stay in one spot, though.
Valve gets 5% for any steam market transaction. Hardly a HUGE share. Not sure what is the percentage for the developers. It should be around 10% as that's what it is for a bunch of other games.
Once again - I'm talking specifically about items on the market, not games themselves(where steam gets ~30% which is around standard retailer fee) that stores get)
Just imagine this shit but instead of 10 cent trading cards it's $1 loot boxes and even more expensive actual items in a game that has 7 million users.
PUBg is going to fucking print money
it's not really the same as other OPEN WORLD SURVIVAL games, it's explicitly pvp and it's quite tactical. the map gets smaller and smaller over time forcing people to move and come together until the map is literally a few paces big
I mean I've bought around five keys and not gotten anything before. But this was actually me being bored and opening a single on a lazy Sunday. I'm not surprised if you don't believe me, it's pretty rare.
I don't argue it;s a lot of money. I'm saying they take a very small share which does not contradict them making tons of money
>only one key
>i've bought around five keys
I-I-I..I don't want to....
Please don't make me, I'm crying..... Please... Please
I bet this was the reaction you were expecting, god you're so fucking pathetic. Typical PC FAG
it's just the next level up of theory.. some exogenous events will ""shock"" the supply or demand curve, causing them respectively to structurally shift to the left or right (think of a national disaster, the demand of water will go way up so the demand curve shifts to the RIGHT. then, the new price equilibrium is higher until the supply curve can adequately shift again to reach the new normal demand (or the suppliers will wait for the demand to subside in this case and just make extra money for the period due to water's scarcity)
Nice try, Gaben.
What???
>one key
>rolls knife
I'll take things that never happened for 200, Alex
a fool and his money are soon parted
there are many fools.
holy shit now i see why companies will never stop the lootcrate bs. Retards like
i am super competetive and it gets the juices going.
I also enjoyed arma 2 mods and this feel smuch like that.
its fun
>five keys in the past 4-5 years
>one in the past 6 months
yeah dude I'm buying hundred of dollars of keys lol, I could if I wanted to and still wouldn't lose my free money. Stay salty kid my steam items are worth more than your gaming console.
>Bought a strange professional capper for 40$
>Sold it for 80$
This was back when it was new gun, but man did I make profit
> i spent 12.50
>and got $400
you realize that is literally gambling, right? Every once in a while idiots like you post their "success" stories, and people thing "that'll could happen to me, right"
>Get grey trenchcoat from "free" crate
>worth around $50
>Want to make money for free vidya, but kind of like the coat so don't really want to sell it
>feel conflicted and wish I was more jewish
>American Economics education
man like 2 weeks ago I sold crates for 3 bucks
sucks that they went down
>reddit will defend this
I would rather ask for an explanation about selling a crate of nothing but autographs of e-sport players.
Literally any game with online multiplayer is fun with friends except that isometric timb raider game
you might as well just buy $100+ of sealed magic boosters and sit on them for a year or two.
you'll make way more off that shit than this shit.
