Why do early access games even exist?
Why do early access games even exist?
To get information about what players like and dont like and what needs to be changed/adjusted/added before you fully release the game and port it over to consoles for the kids and normies to buy
Because why invest your own money in producing a game that you don't think would stand on its own merit when you can con thousands of other poor fuckers to do it for you?
free beta testing
Developers salve a lot of money
Originally used as a way to gauge interest in finishing a game/get feedback.
Now's it's an excuse to fleece people.
Jews
nani the fuck is this?
This.
dried pears but it's just bait for barneyfag or something
Are you trying to summon that autistic fag?
I thought it looked more like eggplant.
Dried pears? I thought it was some sort of cutlets or something.
I thought it was the saddest brisket I'd ever seen, so I'm a little relieved.
I would actually eat the fuck out of that.
When was it ever used to gauge interest
The first game with it was DayZ and it still isn't fucking out
It's always just been a way to release unfinished garbage
Started of as free public testing, now it's just an excuse to not fix it or give it more leeway than average games, because "It's still in beta bro, come on!"
How in the fuck did dried pears do that?
Thanks for bumping my thread, buddy. It's always nice to see a fellow brony helping me out haha
>free beta testing
>free
You are paying for it sweetie.
Because game development has only gotten longer and harder as games have gotten bigger, more detailed and with more features than ever. The workload has increased exponentially, because everything has to be cross tested and adjusted to work together when any given element changes. That's why new games are so unoptimized and full of minor (and sometimes major) bugs. They rarely reach the end stage of development where everything works and things can be polished to perfection.
If you sell early you can skip that stage altogether. You just have to not give a fuck about your audience.
...
Has user's pie adventure's been updated recently by the way?
I started reading it because of Lee linking it here so much.
because you can make money even before your game is done, simple enough
as for why people buy early access games, that's more of a mystery
I was hoping it was some kind of meat. Kind of looks like lamb.
It's.... it's free for THEM not you.
