It's hardly unreasonable. 2 has a roster of 56. 3 had 50.
MvCI is like 80% drag and drop from 3. They could easily port the whole roster over, add 10 new characters, and call it a day. Shit, 2 was made with even lazier tactics, with only like 6 actual new characters and rumor has it Amigno, Ruby Heart and SonSon all left over characters from a cancelled Darkstalkers 4.

Not really. DLC pack 2 better be interesting, as Sigma is the only exciting character, to me, in DLC 1.

Honestly I would have been fine with 30 characters or even less, if they had replaced Arthur, Firebrand, Mike Haggar, Chris and Zero with Captain Commando, another SF rep(like Bison), Asura, Power Stone character and someone else.
But the biggest blow to the hype was actually getting to play the versus demo. Didn't enjoy playing it.
I'll wait and see. Maybe it will turn out ok. But I don't have high hopes.
