I wish I could go back to 2010 and play this game for the first time again
was that guy God?
You killed my father! You got him to do your dirty work and then you shot him like a dog!
I wish I could go back to 2010 and never play any Rockstar game after RDR again
epic post!
No, he was War.
/thread
I hope Rockstar doesn't turn it into some bullshit liberal, preachy game.
>and now I know
>the only compass that I need
>wild bear appear and kill my horse
fug
I didn't really appreciate this game till my second playthrough and it's absolutely incredible. Going back to my third playthrough soon. Rockstar will never make another game half as decent as RDR.
I wonder when they will finally get this game to be playable on RPSC3.
I need my poker and dice game fix
Man that ending put the game on another level.
Poker was incredibly fun in RDR
Those bears were stealthy as fuck
Fuckin a' it was, I would spend hours playing while the in-game hours went by in the background from dawn to dusk with all the NPC's walking around talking and commenting. Goddamn it was top tier comfy with an amazing atmosphere on-top of it, one of the greatest experiences I've ever had in vidya.
>get goty edition with all dlc and shit
>by that point multiplayer is dead as fuck and the few that do play only do deathmatch shit in the open world
>races, poker, dice, etc all dead as shit
>you will never play this for the first time again
Hopefully the sequel delivers.
I still boot the game up just to play Poker and Blackjack in it. It's so damn good.
this is my favorite red dead game
>Playing a very strict, honorable, moralfag cowboy
>Don't shoot anyone unless they shoot first
>Ride up on a prostitute in the middle of nowhere, screaming for help
>She pulls me off the saddle and tries to make a break for it
>Pop deadeye and light her the fuck up, empty 5 rifle bolts into her head
Ain't NO ONE touches my horse
Suitable considering your a nu-age cuck
fuck yes, I loved roleplaying like that
expect a female protag at the very least
I've done that play through as well. Also done the opposite where I just terrorise and take whatever the fuck I want, when I want. Makes for very fun replays.
While we wait for news from Rockstar (lol), let's get some film suggestions in here. Aside from pic related I'm also going to throw Pale Rider in as a pretty god-tier pick.
Work, ya damn nag!
all eastwood westerns are kino. 2 mules is probably the only non kino but thats arguable.
FACT
Red Dead Redemption was leagues better than GTAV.
I'm just glad we're getting a sequel. JOHN U WERE ONE OF THE BOYS
>"Your heart is warm, and the seams are torn, and they've given you a reason to fight, and you're not gonna take what they've got to give, and you're not gonna let 'em take your will to live, because they've taken enough and you've given them all you can give and luck won't save them tonight, they've given you a reason to fight"
It's literally describing John's feelings about his journey... damn, i wish i could play this game for the first time again.
lie still
>Develop unspoken bond with whatever horse I'm riding
>Jack keeps spitting on that bond absent mindedly
I like avenging Marston but I don't like Jack
Music in that agme was so fucking good. Jose Gonzalez deserves all success he has had in the recent years. Sadly I couldn't get all that well into Ashtar Command, but they also have some awesome songs.
I beat RDR and Undead Nightmare like 2 days ago. AMA
>capture that yellow horse in bonnie's mission
>develop an actual bond and even give him a nickname
>whistle for him and he drowns
youtube.com
Underrated.
Jack is the insecure child who tries to live up to his dad but just ends up being a sperg. It's kinda fitting desu. John had it way rougher and grew up with probably, no childhood. His son was a bookfaggot who felt like he had to go a certain way. His dialogue kinda suggest how insecure and fucked up he is. It's really weird to play as Jack after. I much preferred rolling a new game. Only because Jack made me feel slightly uneasy. 2real? perhaps. I dunno. MUH PUH NEVAH CARED FUR ME EITHER
What was his name user
My first was a lovely Chestnut named Dusty
Vanilla because of it's color.
John's in game dialog always kills me
>Tying up an elderly lady
>"You having a gay old time now?"
>Busting a burglar trying to break through the window
>"Something wrong with the door partner?"
>Walk past a woman who calls you good for nothing
>"Why are you wearing that dress sir?"
The whole Mexico section is supreme kino
>Rockstar managed to create a game with a great story, fun missions, a creative DLC and a fun multiplayer
>gave hope for open world games
>then GTA V happened
What the fuck?
Kind of an obvious choice.
>Oh bury me not on the lone prairie....
>Shooting from horseback
>Horse just rears back
>Blow its head off
>Get flung off a cliff
>Ragdoll down
>Cougar hits me
>Die
It's not like GTAIV was that great either desu. I just hope the RDR team is responsible for the sequel.
>innatalltrees
>huntan for bears
>wind up killing 25 bears in a single go
good fucking taste right there
The Great Silence is one not too many people have heard of, imo it has all the familiar elements of a western and a god tier ending. Takes place in the snow so its pretty comfy, main character is a mute and carries a Mauser, he provokes people to draw on him first then shoots their thumbs off lol, he fan fires it too and fucks people up. I recommend any western fan watch it I'd honestly put it up there with The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Beautiful score by Ennio Morricone as well
Anything with Klaus Kinski is cool as fuck so I'll definitely check it out
Rockstar made bank with gta online, hopefully rdr2 will still have those little things that made it a great single player experience
You definitely won't regret it man, it's my favorite western for sure. Klaus plays the leader of a gang of bounty hunters. Apparently it was one of the films Tarantino used as inspiration for The Hateful Eight. No joke I thought the ending was amazing and there's some great scenes in it as well
i lost count of how many hours i played that minigame with the dice online. forgot the name.
whats 2010 like?
Liar's Dice. That was my favorite mini-game too, user.
Imagine what it's gonna be like hanging out in the saloon, looking out the window and the rain and muddy streets, watching it go from dusk 'til dawn. God damn Redemption 2 is going to be amazing can't wait until we hear more
that shit was amazing. i love you user.
Yeah I really hope they refine it and really make it geared towards a singleplayer experience, that's all I want, not some MP GTAV oriented circlejerk for faggot kiddos.
I'm sure they will deliver regardless so i'm not too worried.
The two creative directors at Rockstar are both huge fans of old spaghetti westerns. It's kind of their background. Not surprising that RDR is the only thing they ever got right
This
Multiplayer for anything besides the minigames will be a mistake
I love the conversations when riding on horseback or carriage. They get really deep into the political conversations and they show all the sides. It's not just some "rebels are good, government is bad!" thing that a lot of other games do
Does this have the best minigames of all time?
>that awesome version of poker, and the cheating is surprisingly fun
>liar's dice
>my favorite, five finger fillet
>all the hunting and bounty hunting could be their own games
I just love all the activities in this game...What makes it such a good open world, is that it feels like you can make a separate game out of a lot of the small stuff
>not some MP GTAV oriented circlejerk for faggot kiddos.
Sadly they're going to attempt that again after the billions they made from GTA:O
I hope they remember what made the first one so great and have that feeling of freedom, and that it won't just be a western shooter (although I'm sure it'd still be amazing). Really hope you can still walk freely in and out of buildings, from the look of some of the screenshots it looks like you can (you can see through the glass on the doors)
Wasn't Red Dead Revolver the first one though?
I prefer playing as Jack.
>tfw five finger filet in that Mexican hideout on the cliff
>literally had to write the button sequence out on paper and follow it
can someone explain what the us marshal outfit and the reyes rebel outfit actually do? it says "you will be treated like the law" but I still get wanted if i commit a crime
For example?
Not saying you're wrong, it's just been a while since I played this game and in my head I've sort of written-off the whole Mexico part as a bit of a chore, with the highlight being sweet vidya nipple.
I could be wrong though, maybe it's time to replay.
I'm your Huckleberry.
Well technically yes it's the first Red Dead game, I mean the first in the Redemption series. Definitely didn't think it would have been called Redemption 2 figured it would have been something else. I guess they'll just use Redemption as their tagline for their open world westerns, although maybe it's just for story reasons
this game is better on hardcore mode imho
I liked his outfit.
2 mules for Sister Sarah is fucking great. what's your problem with it?
Well, I know that on the train ride with the Gatling gun near when you Get betrayed by the gay mexicano . You can listen to the Captain talk about how he slowly realizes that he was unliked by Allende and how he feels screwed over that he was given 5 fresh recruits for the mission.
Also, I don't know how legitimate this is but on wide consensus, I think this was the leaked RDR2 map.
>Tumbleweed mansion
>mfw Seth walked straight past the actual treasure and instead murdered dozens of people to find a glass eye.
>the treasure is actually in the basement instead of the second floor
>you can take it
I know it's got robots but is Westworld series worth watching? I'm looking for something after Better Call Saul and I don't know just something to fill the void until Arrow comes back so I can see BASED Slade.
Dollars Trilogy
Unforgiven
Tombstone
No Country for Old Men
>Five rifle bolts
You flung your bolts at her?
