Why did they make the Moonlord such a shitty boss in Terraria? They should've made him have some crazy shit.
Like he could teleport you to the moon and fight you there, or constantly change where you're fighting, like Zant.
I'm just really disappointed in how the Moonlord plays out. The event and boss is really cool, but really tedious and unnecessary.

Can these be combined or do I have to just pick one? And if I can only pick one, which should I start with?

You can use Thorium and Spirit together if you'd like. Calamity is very unbalanced and is it's own thing so it doesn't get along with other mods very well and lol Tremor.

first you will need tModloader which you can get here.

follow the install instructions. then open up terraria with the new terraria.exe and go to mod browser. Search "thorium" and the mod should show up immediately. Then just click download to download the mod.
once it's done downloading you wwill need to go to the mods tab in the menu and enable it, then click reload mods to enable the mod.

all you need to do now is join the server via IP like you normally would

If you combine them just make sure you dont use calamity stuff for the others content.
Only equip calamity weapons and armor for calamity bosses, unless you want super babby mode for everything else.
Also tremor is a fucking meme, but it can be enjoyable and is better balanced than calamity

Final warning, the spirit mod bosses on expert do not fuck around.

Ok so these mods are great and all but do any of them actually make fighting bosses less of a chore and a headache. In vanilla, bosses always get to a point where I have to spend an in game day making potions for a boss fight that is just going to be me kiting the boss while holding my mouse down on it. It's 20 minutes in menus followed by fairly plain fights and I can't imagine mod makers have the good sense to nullify that.

You really only need your best armor, weapons and a hookshot+mobility accessory to fight bosses in vanilla.
The only extra you need in expert is basic potions and max health.

You really shouldnt need anymore than just the red pots you find while exploring.
