Depends on the game. I feel like there's an overall objectivity to it but at some point in quality it starts to teeter into preference. There's also the whole thing where some people are naturally drawn to certain genres while others aren't.

I live in São Paulo as well and you can find both. The 3-pin standard is actually very recent(~2010), meaning any buildings made prior to that time have the american socket standard. If you look into something built in the last 5 years or so they're all going to have the 3-pin format.
