ITT: Overrated games

What a piece of shit.
For one thing half the npcs say the same shit in a different voice but it's always laughably irritating.

Personally, OP, my gripes with the game are:

1.Horrible, uninspired writing. The game lacks even a single well-written, memorable character.
2. No C&C apart from some superficial nonsense (i.e. you can avoid fighting groups of trash mobs instead of actually fighting them) that changes nothing in the story.
3. Roleplaying is on the level of Skyrim, where only one ability affects anything outside of combat and you don't even need to level this ability to pass the checks it governs, since you can just stack items that boost it and these items can be found and crafted freely.
4. Imbalanced combat mechanics with some ridiculously broken builds that laugh at anything in the game on Tactician. Fighters break the early game, mages break the late game. I've finished the game on Tactician with two lone wolves and the level of challenge is laughable.
5. Complete lack of any sort of character build variety when playing in Tactician mode (i.e. the only mode you're supposed to play, because the game is a joke otherwise). You get enough ability points throughout the game to max out only 4 skills and 2 of these skills MUST be Bodybuildign and Willpower due to the detrimental effect spam the enemies exhibit. This leaves the player with only 2 primary skills to focus on per character, making any sort of multiclass or creative builds sub-optimal trash.
6. Horrible itemization and an imbalanced crafting system. Crafted items are 99% of the time better, than the ones you can find, as they always correspond to your level, while the loot doesn't. While you can improve found items through crafting, the difference in level usually makes the crafted stuff simply better.

Every single aspect of this game is trash, but the most pathetic thing about this turd, though, are the cultists that praise it. They actually defend the complete lack of any sort of balance or challenge and think it's "fun". No, playing a game focused on combat that has exactly zero challenge is not "fun".

PoE is actually challenging, this turd was not. I've never managed to complete PoE beyong the normal difficulty, let alone on fucking Ironman, yet I've finished DOS on Tactician with zero problems due to how broken and imbalanced the combat system is.

I got annoyed with this game after solving the mystery in the first town, I had fun stacking barrels inside of barrels and throwing them at people to do hundreds of damage but that's about it.

Is it the most unfunny game in history? Their attempts at humor are horrible.

D:OS's combat is ludicrously fun, but really easy. PoE's is sort of clunky but it offers a nice challenge.

Plus PoE has some based as fuck party members like Grieving Mom.

And Elfbro Aloth joking about villagers fugging their sisters was more funny then the entirety of D:OS's humor.

Shit story, shit characters and shit gameplay outside of the magic stuff which is all right.

It's shit. The story, quests and roleplaying elements are an absolute joke and the combat is severely overhyped. The main problem with the combat (and I'm talking about tactician difficulty here) is that it's really fucking easy if you just play in a non-retarded way and use the crafting system to its full potential. Somewhere after the 1/3 of the game (Luculla and beyond) the game becomes a snorefest as all encounters drastically lose difficulty due to the power spike your party experiences from levelling and proper use of crafting and you spend hours and hours fighting trash mobs like goblins, spiders and skeletons. The more you progress the more the balance becomes skewed in player's favor and the rest of the game becomes pretty much a joke.

People saying that the combat in this game is "good" are retards, DOS is literally babby's first turn based h&s game difficulty wise.

Paid reviews the game.

Pillars of Eternity had great mature story, decent writing, memorable companions, tactical combat system when played on potd, outstanding visuals and fine music
also much more replayability due to all classes and multiple endings

I prefer games with mature themes in them. Gems like fnv, motb, poe. The writing in dos is simply too terrible and makes the game unplayable.

Typical Sup Forumsermin subhuman only care about killing mobs in crpg's therefore they praise dos for being the best thing ever made because it have somewhat decent casual combat system
