>Not making a device that taps into home console and handheld market
>making a device a performs like a 10yr old console and a 10yr old handheld
PS4 and Xbone versions also run at 30fps.
720p is fine for portable mode which is the only reason you should want to buy a non PC version of Skyrim.
...
>10 yr old handheld
But the PSP was 272p and the Vita was 544p
Same fps on all three consoles m8

>The PSVR demo of Skyrim that I played at Gamescom isn't outright bad; it's just, in my opinion, the worst way to play.
>In order to walk around with Move controllers, you use left and right buttons to turn in jarring fractions, and another button to point and teleport
>In essence, the system slows everything down, and Skyrim isn't a game that's designed to be played slowly. When you can't even teleport all that far ahead, every familiar looking pathway feels a lot more tedious than it does in any other version of the game.
> Around 50% of the time my right hand, with my sword, was floating in the air several feet away from me. It popped back in place seemingly randomly, and I never really figured out if there was a 'right' way to hold my move controller to prevent this.
>Unfortunately, for the most part, it's just slow and tedious, and I don't think I'd want to play it in VR for much more than 15 minutes at a time.
So a cheap handheld runs the game at the same FPS as current gen consoles?
Cool.
>cheap handheld
>cheap
With 1/3 the details and 1/4 the view distance.

NINTENDO
KINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
*on a handheld
>yet another game fucks up locomotion because babies can't fucking handle anything other than teleportation
Fuck Bethesda.
Yeah, you should learn what a real cheap handheld is! Like the Vita!
Why does every VR game have to have motion controls now? Why can't I just strap on the headset and play normally with a controller or keyboard?
>why can't this $300 portable be as powerful as a $2000 huge autism box?
gee I wonder
Shhhh, console war faggots can't into fact checking.
>all these anons jumping on Nintendo when it's more Bethesda's fault.
And they say Sup Forums is pro-Nintendo

You because you're a fucking retarded Yuropoor
>A gimmick version of the game versus a dumbed down port that barely runs
>imagining things that aren't there and saying I said them

Those were are all subjective opinions besides the 30fps on ps4&bone.
Enjoy mudslimes raping your family
>boost graffickz
>drop framerate
what's the fucking point?
"your car now goes 250mph! but it has no doors or windows"
if you can't improve it without making compromises then just don't fucking mess with it in the first place
You don't even know what country I'm from you stupid bastard, hahaha. Keep backpedalling though, it's amusing.
The PC version of Skyrim is objectively superior to its console counterparts. The only thing any other version offers that PC doesn't is the Switches portability.
ps4/xbox version is special edition, this isn't
P O R T A B L E
i want to play skyrim in bed
>boost graffickz
they didn't even do that, this is the 2011 version of skyrim
you can notice graphic differences without comparing, meanwhile you don't notice framerate unless it's side by side or abruptly changed
Nobody is backpedaling. You are a fucking retard because you think the vita was a cheap handheld.
>skyrim's graphics look like shit
>release it on weaker hardware
>most likely filled with bugs like the original vanilla game
Can't wait to play Skyrim comfy in bed
more like why can't this $300 device meant for video games not run a 6 year old game as well as a budget GPU from 2011?
so? Skyrim could've come out on the fucking 3ds and I still would've bought it so that I can play while taking a shit
Please point me to the post where I said the Vita was a cheap handheld at launch, fatty. I'll wait. I don't even know where you're intending to go with this train of thought since your original post said the Switch is a 'cheap handheld', which it isn't. Guess we'll just have to chalk it up to
>American education
It's just that Sonybros can't hold their anger anymore. They even lost FF15.
How many FPS does real life run at?
>The Switch is weaker than the 360/PS3
(You)
You fucking faggot buying a console at launch is a different thing then buying it a few years after it came out. The price will be cheaper years later. When in the context of cheap you said the vita was because you got it for 100 but you're comparing it to a brand new fucking console price. What fucking country are you from where that makes sense? You are a jew
and that's 1080p while the switch is 720p hahaha pathetic
even a 560 can run the special edition (which the switch version isn't) at 60+ fps on ultra
Could you imagine? Skyrim 3DS™ Edition. Shit would be like the DS or Wii ports of popular games.
Man, people here are are so negative.
Been watching lots of videos and it looks great IMO. I expected a straight port of the vanilla version that would run like absolute trash, like most Bethesda games, but this looks solid and seems to be the special edition.
Being able to have this on a handheld is fucking awesome IMO, assuming the final version runs as well as it look right now.
>560
oh wait, that's a fucking 550 HAHAHA even worse
if only it were that easy
but this smallass thing logically can't be stronger
Didn't you know? Sup Forums fucking despises Nintendo more than any other company in the gaming industry. That much has been obvious by the amount of people wishing Nintendo would die or wishing that games don't come to the Switch, showing just how absolutely fucking petty they are.
we see you todd
>bringing up the Vita at all in the first place when the Switch doesn't even fucking compete with it
The switch is indeed weaker than the PS3.
>One screen
>Shitty mobile phone tier touchscreen with no stylus support
>Can't use a dpad in handheld mode
>No hardshell case that can stay on in all 3 Switch "modes" without having to be removed constantly
>Paid online
>No internet
>No Netflix
>Marginally more powerful than the WiiU but really just a sidegrade to portability
This piece of shit is the worst handheld and worst console in existence.
>but this smallass thing logically can't be stronger
wrong, the tegra x2 chip already kicks its ass and will probably be in android tablets next year

>because babies can't fucking handle anything other than teleportation
>80% of all people can't handle walking in VR while they aren't moving IRL
>These people are "fucking babies"
VR shitters are really the worst, aren't they?
I really think people are underestimating the value of having games be portable.
I can't wait to have this and Rocket Leauge in the Switch and be able to play them anywhere I go.
It's also funny how people complain about graphics when the switch screen is literally a 720p screen. It's going to look great, like all other Switch games do in handheld mode.
>thisthread.jpg
>ES game without mouse and keyboard
>comfy
a $300 laptop can run those games better though
le funneh wojak XD I saw that on Reddit, so funneeee!!!
Isn't tegra X1 more powerful as well? Last I checked tablets have already surpassed 7th gen consoles.
Skyrim will probably be the most power demanding game. The battery won't last 2 hours seeing how bloated the original game was.
I don't understand why people value portability so much in the first place. I'd much rather be in front of my huge 4K TV or my 144hz monitor playing games in the best way possible instead of on some Frankenshit handheld with 2 hour battery life playing stripped down/gimped versions of games I already own just because of the novelty of it being portable.
You do realize its in portable mode and therefor heavily underclocked right?
Oh what am I saying, of course you do.
>game from 2011
>power demanding at 720p 30fps on a $300 device meant for video games
that's just sad
Sure. But I don't want to bring a mouse and a computer with me unless I have work to do.
Switch is a lot easier. Not to mention it has the option to be played on a TV as well, using a regular controller or the joycons.
What you're describing is just gaming in stereoscopic 3D. You can do that with any 3D game including vanilla Skyrim with almost any headset (or other type of 3D screen) and applying driver settings and sometimes a hack if the game has problems with the HUD or special effects. VR implies motion controls and head tracking on top of that for the full immersive experience.
...
oh, so when you plug it in it will be 1080p 60fps?
Tegra X2 is a meme chip that wont see much use outside of cars. Xavier is the real deal and the one that will start popping up.
Switch 2 is going to use that eventually anyways.
Because I like playing to on break at work.
good question. the only plausible answer is there are lots of genuine retards in the industry
>Its Bethesda's fault for the Switch being an under powered console
Nintendo fags, everyone.
Of course that's optimal. But if you travel it's awesome to be able to play something on the plane. Not to mention to have some entertainment when you arrive jet lagged to your accommodation.
>play on TV
>it's 720p
>loses frames while docked like Zelda
If someone hogs the TV it's really nice to be able to just pick it up and go to bed with headphones.
Comfy deluxe
>Years and years of Sup Forums complaining about Bethesda and their terrible optimization
>b-but I want to shitpost about Nintendo!!! Bethesda can do no wrong!!!
No, console versions are hard locked to 30 fps. And it will be the same for the eventual Xbox One X version.
Then you give people the fucking option. It's not a difficult concept to grasp. It's not like we're working with a game like Doom VFR where the gameplay is designed around the teleportation locomotion with telefragging, or Onward where it's designed around trackpad locomotuon. It's a singleplayer game with pre-defined controls foe the past 7 years. There are literally VR mods for non-VR games that give you half a dozen options for how to move around that work perfectly fine. On top of that, Fallout VR is already confirmed to not have teleportation (or at least have it as an option, if I recall correctly), and that's from the SAME DEVELOPER. So I'll say it again: fuck Bethesda.
why would anyone buy this version to play it on a tv?
Compared to what, playing on a laptop screen at all times?
If so, yeah, I'd pick the Switch version. It doesn't seem to be dropping frames at all.
>One screen
Two screens is a shitty gimmick. Clam shells are a bad design choice that was abandoned in phones due to the problems it causes. The 2DS as an alternative looks like absolute shit.
>touchscreen
I wish they wouldn't have included a touchscreen so that we could get more time out of the battery. Yet another shitty gimmick...
>dpad
Legit complaint
>hardshell case
I didn't require a hardshell case on any handheld when I was a little kid. Why do kids these days need this shit? Just slap on a glass screen protector and call it a day. That is more than I had as a kid, and yet I've never caused any damage to my handhelds.
>Paid online
We've already been telling dumbasses that they shouldn't have paid for the 360's shitty online. Now we all have to pay the price. Honestly I'd rather pay $20 a year than dealing with either Steam or Windows Store. Good thing I probably won't need to play anything online on the Switch though.
>No internet
What the fuck is a cell phone for?
>No Netflix
What the fuck is a cell phone for? Why the fuck aren't you using Kodi instead?
>Marginally more powerful than the WiiU
Why don't you try comparing it to the 3DS? It is what I bought it to replace.
short attention span people that also want to play it portable
Okay, that's cool I guess. The gimped/stripped down aspect still stands. I'm not so desperate to play videogames for half an hour during a work break that I'd buy a $300 portable just to do it. I usually do other things like eat, talk to my coworkers or listen to music/watch movies or TV. The vidya can wait until I get home so it can be played as intended
>not owning your own TV
>implying anyone games on a laptop
Some games are just meant for home. And kbm
>b b b but it ran at 30fps on ps4 and xbox
so since both of them are shit does that mean that it's ok if nintendo does it?
also, compare the switch to the ps4,xbox versions played on the tv and not the tablet and you'll see why ps4 and xbox are superior while still having the same framerate. that is, if the switch docked can even hold the 30fps.
It's not about desperation. It's just something fun to do for an hour at work. Not to sound like Chad Warden, bur I wipe my ass with $300 dollars. Helps to have disposable income.
> you don't notice framerate
Unless you actually start playing the game.
Dobson probably would
>The gimped/stripped down aspect still stands.
Nothing is gimped or stripped down though.
>you don't notice framerate unless it's side by side or abruptly changed
HAHAHAHA
388022896
>p-pls give my strawman attention....
>720p/30FPS in 2017
>nothing is gimped or stripped down
So are people just buying this to keep Nintendo on life support in hopes something good comes out of this?
the ps4 and xbox one versions have better visuals, and we still don't know how well it will perform in docked mode, looking at the fact that not even zelda can run above 30fps, and we are talking about bethesda here, user.
>not owning your own Tv
Eh.. It is my TV. Or at least I bought it, I guess it's "our TV" ever since I got married.
Point still stands though. It's a comfy system.
Not to mention I play in bed sometimes even when the TV is free, just because it's comfy in Itself.
