ME2 is the literal definition of fucking padding. The situation in the galaxy is no different from when you start in ME2 to when you end. It has no bearing on the overall plot and it only has its characters going for it.

I hated this most out of everything, it wasn't perfect but at least it actually felt like you were exploring the galaxy, all they had to do was put more interesting stuff on worlds and maybe vary up the environments a little more

they threw the baby, the tub, and the plumbing out with the bath water

It's my favorite ME game by far and in my top ten, but it's far from being the best game of the decade.

I also preferred the modding and ammo system from the first game, but that's mostly a matter of taste.

the ending of ME2 wasnt even epic, it was cool you could designate squadmates for different roles and everyone kind of played a part but the bossfight was pure garbage. only the music was cool.
ME1 ending is better with the remainder of the fleet shooting Sovereign to bits and Shepard jumoing out of the rubble.
