PUBG

Why is this game so popular now? Is it the looboxes? Casual-tier gameplay? Pewdiebait? What?

OP is a radish.

what

Lets see how long it will take until we complete the BINGO!

>you need 2 things to win
use a real bingo grid you shitherder.

Long periods of doing fucking nothing wear a streamer can interact with their audience

i don't understand either, h1z1 from what i've seen, seems quicker and better

>pubg Gamescom invitational was won by a guy that literally camped all game
>people still say that it's not the best way to win.
THIS CAN'T BE TRUE, THIS IS AN ACTION PACKED GAME

CONSOLE FUCKING WHEN

>you will never be this salty

It's an old-school dumb russian meme.

i want to stick my wiener in that

Thats an amethyst you moron.

Because it's fucking fun that's why. They tool the fun part out of DayZ and cut out all the bullsgit hours of running around looting different kinds of boots before gettig killed by someone you didn't see.

>shooting game were luck is a bigger factor that skill in who wins fights

I guess that depends on your definition of fun really.

youtube.com/watch?v=oqg6ByCwmLk&

>camping for 90% of the game if you want to win
>fun
ok user

>/v can't abuse stream sniping to get easy wins anymore

>they hate the game

If you got around looting for ten minutes at the start, the game can be boring. It's a valid strategy, but it's way more fun to drop in a high action spot and see if you come out on top. Then you'll likely have a lot better gear in a shorter period of time, or you'll just die in a short period of time. Who cares anyway, games take zero seconds to find.

Just get a coffee grinder bruh

Because steamers.
It's also easy to watch and doesn't require as much individual skill as true competitive games like quake, cs, starcraft and even maybe mobas to some degree.

My friend got me the game, and I don't see the appeal.

Other than the Twitch/Streamer crowd circle jerking, this game doesn't have a lot going for it.

But, try telling that to my friend who spent atleast $500 on a fucking trench coat.

Theres literally no better alternative

jesus christ, is pubg the game that triggers Sup Forums the most?

never really thought of this but it makes sense

Bought it, played three games and asked for a refund.

If it was better optamized and the price tag was lower I'd have probably kept it. It's pretty fun but I feel like 30$ is too much for this game, especially when it runs like this. I'll keep an eye on it for the future but I don't expect much from early accsess.

Not an argument

It's fun if you don't take it seriously. I mean, try to win, communicate with your friends, but just laugh it off when you die and look to the positives of the match. It's not a competitive game at all and this tournament going on is totally forced. I only watch it to laugh at how stupid it is, like when 20 players were just swimming in the shallow water of the beach.

The game has meme optimization, system RAM and hard drive speed can be the difference of 30 FPS. It needs some help in the optimization department, but with an SSD and 16GB it runs mostly 60 FPS for me on a GTX 970. No excuse though, the game shouldn't need that much RAM and an SSD should only impact loading times.

it's not actually true though. but most people playing without thinking and getting luck-killed makes it seem that way.

if you run around and are not careful about various variables (path of the plane, likely path of players towards the circle, clues in the environment as to whether someone else was there recently, etc.) you're very often going to get killed by someone who sees you running or who just hears you running while they are doing something else silently.

the proper way to play this game, and this may suck to hear because it's probably the opposite to how people actually WANT to play this game, is actually to play it like metal gear solid.

if you want to win that is. ideally you wouldn't use your gun once in a game, because shooting when you could just have avoided your opponent literally does nothing but give your position away (even with a silencer). you're better off having others kill each other and hiding.

it's not possible to camp for even 10% of the game unless you get lucky and the circle centers on you constantly.

camping just means that you're going to enter the end game with undesirable loot, and probably from an undesirable position, as opposed to those who learn how to be active while being unseen.

Thought I should just throw in my experience:
SSD, i5 6600k, 8GB RAM, GTX 1070, >100fps

>see you can sell items on market
>buy boxes and sell them
>buy Bioshock 1 and 2
Pretty good if I have to say so

tl:dr camp to win

It's fun-ish with friends and they think it's a good competitive game because streamers.

It's going to fade though. So many people complaining about running and that's what the game was built around.

Whats the deal with loot crates? Is it the kind of crates where you need to buy a key for real money or is the crate free to open? Sorry for possible stupid question.

Yeah. When I first got the game I put it right on the SSD, no problems. What I've noticed is when I moved he game on a hard drive because I wanted more space on my SSD and didn't care about PUBG load times, I wouldn't reach full GPU and CPU usage and yet my FPS would be 45 FPS. I threw it back on my SSD and now frames only drop when I'm at 100% GPU usage.
It's really not a placebo, retardedly enough, this game really cares about your drive speed. But results also vary. My cousin who also has a 970 says he's almost always over 60 FPS and doesn't even have an SSD. But my advice to anyone having problems, try moving it to an SSD if you're having problems. Hopefully they sort this, Googling around, both the drive usage and RAM usage is related to the memory leak.

I've made my money back is fair enough though.

Iam beeing honest here. If you dont know what you are doing it can seem like its luck based. Thats right. But as soon as you get in higher elo lobbies you notice that its rather skill based.

I picked up on this like my 3rd game and my young friends who suck the games dick are just now catching on. You either shoot and die or hide and win. Fucking shitty game design.

I suck at shooters and I have the highest win ratio of my friends simply because I do not shoot when I'm trying to win.

...

the Gamescom crates need a key, part of the proceeds for the keys go to charity and most goes to them.

Both types of loot crates are bought with in-game points you get just for playing, and both can be sold on the market.

You can choose between free crates or crates that require keys. I buy the ones that need keys and and sell them on the marketplace. I have enough Where's Waldo shirts and worker boots.

I had many high kill rounds though.

you should probably hold onto them.
they are promos that will not be accessible after a short period, yet they will still be able to be resold and keys bought.

That means their value will go up a lot in coming months.

It's not.

...

I might do that. Is there a price reset coming up before these things stop being available for purchase or should I just buy them all right now?

It is.

...

You're literally just saying "don't make noise and you won't be heard", which is fucking obvious shit dude. Granted yeah, using the information you have at hand to know guess where someone is going to be (plane path, circle location, opened doors) but overall you're still in a giant map and your guesses to enemy locations are always going to be vague as fuck.

People love to say "lmao learn how to move bruh" when talking about this game but the terrain has a fuckton of nothing but flat fields for a large percentage of it, and the fact that you can quickly be forced to run in the open because of where the circle will lands means you can easily get fucked over through no fault of your own.

You can use map knowledge and enemy predicting in CoD TDM, but that still doesn't mean it isn't exceedingly casual. The giant maps just amplify the randomness of getting picked off by a scoped weapon, and the game doesn't have enough cover to prevent this from happening. In games like CS and Siege when you die it's completely your own fault for allowing the enemy to sneak up on you, in PUBG it's just not feasible to predict the location of 99 players on a giant map.

You do realize every fanbase for a shit game thinks their game has a ton of depth too, right? I remember someone trying to argue that Chivalry had more depth than any fighting game because it was in 3D, I asked him "what about Tekken" and he shut up.

Unless you can explain the mechanics you can't defend its depth. As is the game has a fucking ton of RNG elements and is more lucky than skill/

>TFW you think PUBG is a mediocre game and you wouldn't really defend it, but the level of cosmic butt-frustration it causes Sup Forums makes it GOTY

Say that to the first guy ever winning a big PUBG tournament, he literally camped all game.

Its mindless fun, pulls you back into another game because you realize how you fucked up and try to improve it in the next game.

he did have to kill people tho

he blasted ninja in the face with an s12k after they were done playing third person camera wars

>can play by yourself
>can play with on other friend
>can play with 2 or 3 other friends
This is why I like the game. I could never stomach playing Overwatch again and playing with five other shitters.
>g-get some friends!
I have friends, they're not on 24/7, very few people can say they have five friends to always play with on demand. PUBG adjusts nicely to how many people you have. Maybe they should even add 5/6 man games.

You are a poster on Sup Forums. You do realize the average Sup Forums poster just hates on everything succesful? You do realize that, do you?

>popular
>lots of players
>accessible to anyone with a decent idea of how to move a mouse and touch a keyboard at the same time
>competitive mp
>not anime/waifubait
>currently PC exclusive

It literally checks every box on the "things Sup Forums hates" list.

I don't hate the game at all, I just don't see it as a deep or skill based game in the slightest. I don't hate CoD either, I view it in a fairly similar fashion.

>as opposed to those who learn how to be active while being unseen.

Which is largley luck based due to the map design and RNG elements.

I thought it was going to be a battle royale were you get dropped, fight for the little weapons it may be around and fight/survive but when I watch streamers playing the game either they are waiting in the lobby or camping like 10+ minutes until I get bored and move to another one.
It seems kind of boring to me, hide trying to survive the longer posible, camp or figth and die early.

Every game involves lucm. You think in CS:Go if you go one way and the enemy goes another and he ends up behind you, that's not luck?

You don't have to camp. Almost every multiplayer game has a meta that usually makes it less fun than playing the regular way.

it league of leguends 2.0, for some reason Sup Forums loves overwatch but hate pugb.

>i dont have the game

Sup Forums in a Nutshell

I like the setting, though not the gameplay, though I've only watched videos of it.

Just the clusters of small town centers and stuff is nice, same for that one by SOE's bloated corpse. I just like the mix of cabins and houses and especially gas stations/truckstops.

> for some reason Sup Forums loves overwatch but hate pugb.
Why do you lie like this? nearly everyone hates Overwatch here and always says how shit of a game it is

>Bingo isn't successful
I like Bingo.

>I like the setting
??????????
If you like deserted slavistani hill country, there are about ten trillion games with that setting. The setting is probably the worst part about PUBG.

>You think in CS:Go if you go one way and the enemy goes another and he ends up behind you, that's not luck?

This comment proves you know nothing about FPS games. CSGO has fixed spawns every round, it also has a radar that displays your teammates and shows you what they're covering. If someone gets behind you in a 5v5 round then you are the only person to blame for this. You know where they're coming from, you know the two locations they want to go, and you know how long it's going to take them to go through specific paths (like flanking routes).

Fuck, even in the low mid ranks of CSGO CTs know how to hold their half of the map, you'd have to be in trash tier to have people sneaking up behind you being an issue.

Not an argument.

>nearly everyone of the hundreds of thousands of Sup Forums users with their own thoughts and opinions hates a hugely popular game from a hugely popular developer
Speak for yourself, dumbshit. Sup Forums is not one person.

it's fun and a good mix of arma 2 mod feels.

best battle royale formula yet. it also give me crates to sell. feels gud. free gayme for me

Will we get a full bingo this thread?

goodness you are a salty console faggot. use a real bingo square you queer

>h1z1 from what i've seen
too cartoony and arcadey. enjoy

>I don't understand how bingo works

y-yes you tell him. PUBG is the best thing that has happened since Call of Duty!

You BTFO all of Sup Forums

>But, try telling that to my friend who spent atleast $500 on a fucking trench coat.
sounds like a good investment, I bet his roth IRA is sick nasty too

>it's not possible to camp for even 10%
nigga have you even played the game ?
most of my games I get to 30 left without even meeting other people

>tfw comfy watching the PUBG invitation in first person

>2 lootboxes has been sent to your PUBG account

i actually did some random squads and had fun. most people have a mic.

You are literally me. Bonus: I won my third game ever too.

play the game before shit posting

Stop reposting this, also see

desu it's the most important shooter in years. stay buttmad. enjoy it climbing the charts. I can tell you love talking about the gayme, you wouldn't be here otherwise.

good, I just made 5 gabe bux off those 2 crates

steamcharts.com/app/578080

>flavor of the month
>what did they mean by this?

How much do you get paid? You're in every pubg thread posting the same replies over and over again

>only a 72% approval raiting

How long until it reaches Day Z levels of negative reviews.

how much does it bother you? give me another you!

Didn't PewDiePie just start to play it like a few weeks ago? It's not him

name a game with a higher approval rating, chap

Nearly every game on steam?

its simple: no respawns, real tension.

i really don't get why Sup Forums hates on it so much, its the opposite of call of duties casual, "lets jump like madmen through a hotel lobby and die every 10 seconds"

R6 Siege has an 82% approval rating and a similar amount of reviews. it's also a much better shooter.

Streamer fags and their fanboys.

I played this at a friends house for a few hours to see if I'd like it.

To be honest its just a slightly better DayZ game. Most of the matches consist of 15 minutes of gathering followed by less than 30 seconds of shooting. It's not uncommon to get fist fucked by bad drops.

It's not a terrible game, but I don't really see the appeal beyond a few casual matches. There are far better multiplayer shooters out now.

I bet they are growing like this weed

It's still very casual and luck based, and it's clear that a lot of the people that don't agree with this don't understand what gives shooters their depth.

>summit1g
>figure it's some reddit board or SJW thing
>google it
>it's a fucking streamer
>neo Sup Forums is now giving credence to what games e-celebs don't like

It's like it's simple, dumb fun that works for the majority of the gaming community, not that you patricians would understand why something so unsophisticated could be so popular

>people are having fun on a gayme
>no! it's not real fun!!
