no it doesn't have any slowdowns, that was just a shitty stream, we already discussed this

and no, they can do no wrong. when it comes to presentation, graphics, they are fucking magicians. just look at the XCX on wii u. unbelievable

So unlike the E3 build, Rex has an art he can use right at the start of battle. Where are those anons who refused to believe that arts could be upgraded as you played, like every other fucking Xenoblade game, and whined non-stop about battles always being slow? I have crow for them.

>can do no wrong
Xenoblade 1 had quite a bit of slowdown in places, they tried to make big open areas on a shitty consoles. This might be a strea issue you're seeing though.

stream*

Well, it'd be strange if you couldn't upgrade your blades to scale with the later level enemies.

Though it does look like the blades (outside of the 1 main blade per driver) are highly interchangeable.

Should be fun to see how many blades we can collect in this game.

It's looking fantastic so far, loved the new area and the improvements shown in this new stream, I just hope the plot is good too.

Those people were retarded and weren't paying attention

This game is B team garbage.

How so?

I'd argue that this game is much more intricate than previous Xenoblade games in combat.

>use auto attack to charge up arts
>use arts to charge up elemental arts
>use elemental arts in different order to cast skill seals among other things via orbs
>use chain attack to break those orbs and reset the cycle
>different arms have different elemental properties and skills allowing you to change your team composition on the fly (Rex can be changed to tank, Tora can become DPS, and Nia can become the healer, etc.
>soundtrack is the largest in any Xeno game released to date
>there will be multiple titans to explore

Monolith Soft's B team was busy helping with BotW and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, XC2 is shaping up to be another great Xeno game.

They said almost at the end of the stream that it still was an unfinished build. Also STREAM.

If anything I'm surprised that they didn't just show the E3 build, but I'm glad we got to see all the improvements and a new area.

Will Tora and Poppi be the cutest Driver/Blade pair?

do i have to play the first one to play 2?

They also put in the English voices, which they said they were a week away from managing to back at E3.

That game is so fucking ugly if you aren't a weeb. The clothes look ridiculous. I hope there is an explanation for that massive fucking hud and why that girls clothing wings are flowing senseless at every moment. Why are moves announced in glittering pink triangles. Christ what a shitshow

This is cute.

You don't, it's like Final Fantasy games. Xenoblade 1 and X are great games on their own too, you should consider playing them if you have the chance as well.

It looks like shit, and X was shit too.

Once you understand the combat mechanics the design choices of the HUD in all 3 Xenoblade games are very clear. They should have made a smaller HUD for docked mode though.

>I hope there is an explanation for that massive fucking hud
You need to be able to see it while playing in handheld mode.

>I hope there is an explanation for that massive fucking hud
The explanation is that they don't want a UI that would look tiny on the Switch screen, genius. People complained about X's being too small to read on the Wii U gamepad, so here we are.

>OI M8 LES SHOW THESE CUNTS A THING OR THREE AH CUD BASH THEH FACKIN SKULLS IN BLINDFOLDED AMIRITE INNIT.

I'll admit, I'm kind of starting to like him. He's got a sort bravado that Shulk didn't.

How is it even possible this looks worlds worse than X?
Hopefully the writing isn't shit so we don't get many buyers remorse Switch fags.

Poppi fanart when?

You can't really judge from a cropped stream, go watch the 2 trailers instead. The game looks marginally better than X, except for the lighting which is much better now.

>25fps
>With drops
Great. It's even worse than Xenoblade. It really shows that they're rushing the game out to have at least one worthwhile Switch title besides Odyssey.

>HUD is xbox hueg to compensate for handheld mode
>You can not customize the size
Amazing. Nintendo really hate customization huh?

>20fps
>With drops
Great. It's even worse than LttP. It really shows that they're rushing the game out to have at least one worthwhile 64 title besides Super Mario 64.

>Deflecting
Yeah, OoT has terrible framerate as well. What's your point?

I don't get it what's wrong with it? Is this just XBX fags crying if so I certainly don't give a fuck since XBX was complete garbage and im glad they are going back to story focus.

>You can not customize the size
Source?
I hate how the HUD look.

During the E3 they said they were still polishing the game, tweaking performance issues and minor bugs are the last things they will probably do.

We don't have confirmation of that yet.

>>You can not customize the size
Source?

People who loved XC1 and XCX will almost certainly love this game too, the usual shitposting is from people that are clearly not familiar with the franchise.

>comparing it to something from 1998
You really are desperate, aren't you?

>They're still polishing
Sure they are. But, judging by their track record, the performance won't improve. You'd have to be really gullible to believe they'll actually manage to fix the framerate issues before release.
If anything, it may come as a patch some weeks or months later.

No, it didn't. Maybe your shitty toaster couldn't emulate it properly, but on the actual console it didn't feature any slowdown. It had a consistent frame rate.

Yeah, but that's just speculation, I'm used to play console games at sub 30 fps, but Nintendo and Monolith Soft have always been consistent giving stable performance in their games Makna Forest excluded.

Managing your party in X was a fucking travesty No one in reserve gains XP. If you want to switch members, you have to find their tiny character model on the gargantuan map and hope you found them at the right time of day. When taking on a main mission, you literally have no choice but to bring along Elma and Tater. During affinity quests, you couldn't abort mission or change party members. Have they brought it back to how it was in 1?
Is there still a needless online mode? Is fashion gear still in?

>but on the actual console it didn't feature any slowdown

This is a lie. Past fallen arm there was absurd slowdown. I did play on Wii u instead of Wii.

you can't change your outfit if that's what you're asking.

So far, all I can say is that the music is fucking ace.
No pun intended

>Have they brought it back to how it was in 1?
I don't know but I hope so
>Is there still a needless online mode?
No
>Is fashion gear still in?
Not confirmed yet, but i don't think it's in, unfortunately

I imagine not, but honestly you should. I got the original before playing x and it was absolutely worth it. Then I started x recently and it's actually a great game for completely different reason, if you know what to expect going in.

Original is better story, x has better exploration.

>you can't change your outfit if that's what you're asking.
There is no evidence for that, and hasn't been confirmed.

>you told me monolith can do no wrong
Where the fuck have you been? They've never even made a game with good gameplay.

While i agree switching party members is tedious, they are always in the same spot, their position is marked on the map, and I've never not found then at any time of day or night. No reserve experience sucks chunks though.

Playing xcx without the minimap on is the way to go

Give me some good reference shots and I might try my luck in the drawthreads.

...

>I've never not found then at any time of day or night
It can happen when they're ready for a heart to heart, in which case they'll be at the related spot/timeframe.

In case you're for real, these are the best shots I could get from the stream. I've seen unpartnered Twitch streams with better bit rates than Gamescom, so that's fucking annoying.

Except when they go to their fucking heart-to-heart locations
Fucking hell, it's a goddamn hassle to find them

Oh that does suck then is there any notification that that has happened at least?

there was a "cosmetics" shop in the town they shown today, but seems like the only gear in the game is rings and shit, so maybe instead of gear changing appearance you can just buy fashion stuff instead.

You can check if they've gained an affinity level from the affinity chart. Where they go and at which time must be found out from random NPCs though. It's pretty much something where using a guide is advised.

I'm fine with that, I never get anything that I find statically pleasing of mix and matching parts of different sets in games.

Apparently, enemies were given more HP for the demo to allow for more of the combat to be shown off, before anyone complains about them having too much.

xenoblade games never even broke a million
why do retards still give a flipping fuck about this series?

>same copy/paste shitposting over and over again
why do retards like you still breathe?

seems like you can handle criticism

>fall damage is back
Fuck

It makes sense I suppose. Xenoblade X specially gave a justification for why there was no fall damage, so it'd be weird to have no fall damage in a game without that justification.

>Fall damage is back
>Small jumps are back
>No mechs
>No clothing gear that changes your appearance
>No fashion slots
>Can't go absolutely everywhere
Why the fuck did they have to take so many stupid steps backward?

What the fuuuuuck!? Why does the stream have the game as a thumbnail in the corner and why are every XC2 streams in 720p. I was so excited to see this new area, but I hardly can and have to watch 3 numales instead.

Could have easily explained away fall damage by saying Rex's ridiculous pants have shock-absorption tech à la Aperture Science in them

For what it's worth, Takahashi said he wants to keep Xenoblade and Xenoblade X separate while alternating making games in each style. I don't know why that must mean going back to making the game clunkier and with less freedom (even just in the characters' appearence), but so it is.

Because XBX was shit.

Why does Nia have seizures?

hate that shit.

>looking up programming tutorial
>some schmuck in the corner, making the same awkward expression the whole time

can unlock skills to interact with the world, maybe there is a skill for Rex hook shoot thing to negate fall damage

Neat, Bismark is my favourite primal design wise and theme

>calls people retards

great "criticism" there.

so this is a male?

Sadly, no.

That would be cool, but I doubt we'll get that
Anyway, I wasn't too sold on the new battle system but after the stream I like it more
I just wonder if we'll get some broken ass shit in endgame, making broken builds was fun in both XC and XCX

toughen up kid

bullshit get the fuck out, the entire second half of Zanza was a gigantic slowdown

>pretty good ass
>genki band-aid
>eyelashes
>that idle animation
Think for a second.

Source?

no but this is a tetsuya takahashi directed game so expected a shit ton of callbacks and references, the entire driver/blade "pact" is one big xenogears reference

But
>Draw a girl
>Call it a boy
is a Japanese stapple.

Her anti-spiral gene is acting up.

someone said it was a boy. figured they were wrong, but I honestly don't know. this is japan we're talking about. guess there's just not enough info on this character yet.

>TAKE THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS

>graphics
>fucking magicians
XCX ran at 720p and had a godawful story

>During an Italian official presentation, the Nintendo representative told that this was done for demo purposes in order to allow a full demonstration of the first 4 layers of the combat system within few encounters/short limit of time

Did we agree on the canon outfit for swordgirl yet?

>first 4 layers

So there is more to the combat? Already has more depth then the previous xenoblades

>calls Poppi a special blade
Does this tie into why Tora was missing from this screen?

>first 4 layers
Is this game an Ogre

He seems to be a full-fledged character in every other regard, it would be strange if he couldn't get more Blades and thus more than one weapon type/four arts at a time.

I think special blade means pyra/poppi/the tiger, not the generic ones everyone can equip

>specifically called Poppi α
>is some sort of "special Blade"
I think what's happening is that, although Tora won't be able to equip other Blades, Poppi will be able to take on different forms that are essentially their own Blades.

I assume there's some sort of story reason for this.

That's what happens when your system despite being more expensive than all of the competitor's systems uses hardware that isn't even fit for a modern android tablet.

He only referred to Poppi as a special Blade while listing all of the characters, though.

Oh right, that would make sense. Kind of like Cupil in Skies of Arcadia, if you know that. Although if Tora works by the same rules as everyone else, then Poppi should split in more forms rather than transform, that or more forms can give her more than one weapon type and set of arts at once.
