Knowing rockstar we probably won't see a rdr2 for pc until a year and a half later. So the Xbox one x would be your best bet playing the definitive version

Good for Microsoft. I traded my Xbone in for a PS4 because I like RPGs and no amount of Halo could fill that need but I'll admit the Xbone controller is pure sex compared to the PS4 one.

not sure, I don't even use an optical drive with my desktop most of the time. I have a USB DVD/CDRW drive for the few occasions I have optical media that I need to read.

That's what I fear. I already have a PS4 and Xbox One but neither one of those will provide the best experience at launch. I was really on the fence about the Xbox One X but so far the games that have been shown compared to the PS4 Pro versions have sorta sold me as it being the ideal RDR2 box should rockstar kike it up again.

I'll probably sell my regular Xbox One to a friend for $100-150 so I will recoup at least a small part of the new system's costs.
