It was interesting seeing it genuinely start to compete with Hearthstone (made 100 million in it's first six months while HS made 400 that year) until HKMR fucked up the balance completely. Last I checked the western base died in about 3 weeks.

Fun for a bit playing Arena with friends as much as you want, but it got boring because I have absolutely no interest in playing FoTM decks to climb.

I've been logging in just so I can get card packs. I've never played a card game before so I haven't played against anything but bots. I also have no idea how to build a proper deck. What should I do with all these cards?

First you look at the legendaries you have and then you decide what class you want to play. If you have enough vials you can craft a few good decks.

Is there some kind of website or guide to which cards to vial? Also I really enjoyed playing as runecraft.

You vial duplicates, there are some legendaries that don't see much play. You can screenshot your collection and ask the general on /vg/. From what I know there's a few runecraft decks depending on what you like about the class.
