Decide to play a game

>decide to REplay a game
>Complete another +40hr playthrough

Could it be that we're broken?

I guess so. It's so good replaying it though

You have terrible concentration.

Also, not your blog.

Nah, it's just easier to sink into something that's familiar. For a new game, you have to learn everything including the mechanics, combat, builds, puzzle types, and more. For a game that you know and love, you can just start it and know that you will enjoy the experience from past playthroughs. It's why a lot of people will stick with the same music genres/artists, or will choose to order a dish they know is consistent even at a place where they could order something new and exciting. It's just easier to go with what we know since it takes less effort to find enjoyment/appreciate the experience.

It's the reason why, despite a backlog of like 50 games, I recently replayed Dead Space 1 and 2 for like the fifth time. I know they're consistently fun to replay and since I know all the mechanics/encounters, it's easy to just dive back into it.

It could be a lot of things, not the least of which being that new games often are so fucking braindead in the opening (and sometimes entirely throughout) that they're just not fun.

>Play new game
>Get to one tedious part or lose progress
>Get frustrated and stop for the day
>Don't go back to it for months

It keeps happening. Tried playing Trails of Cold Steel and got to the chapter where you explore the boring plains on a horse, got distracted, and haven't gone back to it in months. Similarly, I was playing through Final Fantasy IX on the PC version, got to the part where you have to rescue Garnet, the game crashed when trying to go into the boss fight with the worm thing, lost like 15-20 minutes of progress, and then haven't gone back to it in a month.

>decide replay game
>play for only 2 hours
>stop playing
>decide replay game again
>rinse and repeat

Feels like most new games all have the same dumbass style.

I just want to have fun and get lost in a game like I used to be able to. DaS3, Nier Automata, Undertale, Subnautica and the Budget Cuts demo are probably the only games I've enjoyed in the past 5 or 6 years.

>decide to replay game
>can't get it to run on your pc

>close Sup Forums
>start game
>play it for 2 or 3 hours no distractions
If you're not hooked or it just feels like shit, drop the game it's not worth it.

>want to play game
>don't have the courage to even launch it

It's suffering. I end up watching streamers and feel I haven't done anything.

>decide to play a new game
>lose interest 30 minutes in

>decide instead to replay a game you really liked before
>lose interest 30 minutes in

>been wanting to play hl2 for years
>boot up game
>that intro
>immediatly lose interest and close game
One day I'll get to it, it's like Liberty Island..

It took me three tries to get in to Fallout 3, the first time I got bored fighting raiders in the high school, the second times I could find how to open a door to exit The Brotherhood of Steel bunker. I thought this game sucked dick, and I would never play it again. Lo and behold I gave it a third a shot and fell in love with the game. I would play for nine hours straight some days.

Loved the game.

Watch out, people are gonna call you a shill or Todd.

>tfe the only game i can play longer than an hour any more is a shitty private vanilla wow server

I'm not, it's really a good game the first play through was amazing. But the second play through I lost interest half way through. but DESU it's worth playing the the whole game once.

Why

It's worth it alone for Ravenholme

no drive to play vidya - life fucks up all up in the end

The only games I find myself replaying and enjoying are Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy

I wonder how Kony is doing these days.

>Find old gem everyone recommends
>Play it
>Fall in love within 10 minutes
>The bittersweet feel of "Man I should have played this earlier" and "I wish I could experience that for the first time again"

Me playing Xenoblade Chronicles last week.

Phil is cute! CUTE
