I also played MH solo for 360h on MH3u because of i was playing on 3DS. It felt the best way to play. But then there are quests almost impossible to do alone.
Still, best fight in the MH3U for me was the double savage deviljho in an arena with 3 other experienced hunters. This shit was so great.

I have so many awesome hunting stories about hunting deviljhos. This right here. One time in 4U, on a whim, my friend and I decided to fight a HR Kush naked. We got 2 cart almost immediately, but after that we were godly. Dodging everything, hitting every weakpoint and screaming when we had close calls. It was absolutely glorious. Then I got the final cart, just as Kush was limping away. We were so fucking close. Pic were both of our faces. I have many stories about monhun. It's such a great series if you can get into it. I love it so much.

I remember in that Deviljho fight my friend and I both wore the Gigginox G-Rank armor (it was 3U) with narga weapons, so we would look like we belonged to some secret cult. After every fight, we would spout our catch phrase ("The brotherhood strikes again!")
After jho went belly up, the stranger we played with would join in on our chanting before leaving the room. It was a glorious feeling.
