I actually found the community to be pretty nice to new players. When I was below lvl 40 people didn't expect me to know shit and told me about things to watch out for/walls to reinforce/characters that combo well with others/etc.
Compared to something like CS:GO - it's a night and day difference.

As someone who's played since beta free weekends are awful, you get Twitch fags doing forced bits for views, players complaining that everyone is hacking despite not knowing anything about the map, those who just want to tk because they want their friends to go back to Overwatch or GO, lvl 200+ plat players making alts so they can jerk off and the regular free weekenders who despite trying to help usually just end up damaging the team by picking poor ops and reinforcing the floor of the objective room.
The game just becomes unplayable and the community loses its comfy vibe during the weekend, I wouldn't say you are getting an accurate experience however the games community gets worse and worse with every surge of new players and I fear alpha packs will just destroy any comfy vibe left.
Was this in casual or the competitive mode?
As a new player should I just not bother? I tried cod ww2 and it was hot garbage. I did a little of the training and the movement and aiming felt weird so I stopped but I didn't remove the game.

The community do tend to help out new players but it's only when you have a stray new player in a casual game. Currently it just won't happen because every casual game is chaos, I'd rather leave than explain why you shouldn't reinforce walls between objectives or kids bedroom.

As a PC player I think Siege plays like hot garbage on consoles and Ubisoft have already said PC is the lead platform for development.
I don't think console controls really take advantage of what Siege has to offer over the average FPS.

I be honest I like siege but I really do dislike how team heavy feels like and to be clear that's fine if that's the fucking point of the game but I only get enjoyment out of shooters for the most part because I know if die or fuck up I'm out for the round along with that I really don't like sitting around for the most part and I just never got good at that part.
Think I should give the game a other go or is it a better idea just to look for something else?

Sorry, but if you're new and don't listen to me and my squad then we'll take turns killing you at the start of every round. If you're new you should be listening to veterans who know what they're doing anyways.
If we tell you to swap off glaz on plane so that we can play him using the knowledge, teamwork, and strats we've developed over hundreds of hours of gameplay, we don't care if he's your only operator, we don't care that "he's the cool sniper!". You're either swapping off or you're going to be playing forehead tennis with our bullets for actively sabotaging our game. Doesn't really matter when the netcode is still bad, I can't imagine them ever fixing it because higher level play depends on that dodgy 3 speed bullshit meta and they'd probably lose a massive chunk of dedicated players.
