What 2 games? last 2 metroid games where Prime 3 and Other M and Prime 3 was good.

Then there is the spin-off, Federation Force that doesn't really count as a metroid game, but it was still good and fun.

So no matter how you take it, that's still only 1 bad game.

I'll buy the game. I'll even try to get my hands on the collector's edition and maybe even the amiibos.

Metroid 2 sucked dick and this is the one they chose to remake? They could've just let AM2R release and instead do super metroid, but I'm sure they would've fucked that up nicely.

Metroid 2 not being very good is exactly what makes a good choice for a remake. Super Metroid is pretty much perfect already.

Super Metroid is perfect and doesn't need any remake. Metroid 2 was in serious need of it precisely because of its issues.

I did, and it wasn't that great either. The only reason nintendo is doing it is because they just want to prove to the fans they can still drag the series through the mud before everyone gives up on it. I liked prime 1-2 and was let down by 3 so I sadly don't have much optimism for prime 4 unless they reinvent the wheel again.

I suppose that is the problem isn't it? Super is very hard to top but prime was a ray of hope at least. I often wonder what the series would've been like if gunpei didn't die, and what sort of improvements would've been made if metroid had continued to be done internally and evolved naturally instead of sakamoto suddenly deciding to take control of everything well over a decade later, unchecked.

I guess we'll have to see if nu-tendo can pull this off, but looking back at fusion and zero mission doesn't inspire much confidence.
