doesn't really change much since sheathing your weapon has never been difficult except for Heavy Bowgun and Heavybowgun having a long sheathe animation is an intentional choice to match it being a glass cannon

Having to sheathe your weapon to sharpen it never made sense in the first place.

>pull it out again to sharpen it
>put it back away
>pull it out again so you can fight

Unlike drinking potions, you're a total fucking retard if you sharpen your weapon while staring down the monster, so I don't see how this matters. It's not like it's a matter of timing or knowing an opening like drinking, you maintain your sharpness during downtime. I imagine I'm still only going to sharpen my weapon after sheathing it because if I'm sharpening, I'm about to chase the fucker across the map, or just finished chasing him across the map.
