Is sony the only console manufacturer that doesn't launch some of their games at full retail price? Games like Knack 2, Everybody's Golf and Oreshika were all cheaper on release than most other games. Why don't microsoft / nintendo do the same?
Is sony the only console manufacturer that doesn't launch some of their games at full retail price? Games like Knack 2...
>Why don't microsoft / nintendo do the same?
Because Microsoft doesn't have enough games to do low budget titles and Nintendo is stuck with a one game per month process right now so they're stuck charging full price to make the Switch not seem like a worthless console
Sony on the other hand has so many fucking games they have to slash the prices to ensure people buy them
Microsoft and Sony don't release bad games like Knack
I fucked up but you see my point
>Knack 2 somehow ended up being one of the 10-20 best games this year
2017 really did end up being the year of the meme.
Sony recognized that Knack 2 was a sequel to an absolutely shit launch title. If they didn't cut it, I can't imagine anyone would've bought it.
Everybody's Golf seems like a cool game though, the price cut was smart.
Genuinely haven't heard of Oreshika.
Nintendo's first party isn't shit enough to have to release below $60
Knack is a half baked piece of shit. No one would buy it at full price. I'm a sony fan btw.
Nah you just fucked up
Star Fox Zero was $60
Good point.
I haven't bought a game on release in forever, so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that standard?
So was Knack.
Recore was less than full retail
That's the point of this thread. It is standard but sony sometimes releases games below $60.
But Knack 2 wasn't.
But Knack, the game that was worse than Knack 2, was.
To be fair, they launched Freedom wars at $30 and Oreshika at $20 because they sent both to die on Vita with no marketing.
Nintendo priced 1-2 Switch at full price
Wasn't ratched and clank like 40 bucks on release aswell?
Yeah
I got it for free. It's¨good.
Recore cuphead and ori are budget titles from ms I don't know about Nintendo their games never seem to drop in price
Isn't cuphead more like an indie game? I'd put it on the same level as stuff like helldivers. But on the other hand no mans sky was a indie game aswell and was $60.
Uncharted Lost Legacy was also $40 even though they probably could have gotten away with charging $60, Wipeout Omega was $40, and Yakuza Kiwami was $30
Recore was what, $40 bucks at launch? I remember it went down extremely quickly to like $20 bucks during black friday, and it had just launched not too long before.
I felt kinda ripped off with Lost Legacy at that price, would be terrible at $60
Because Nintendo can get away with it. Simple as that. No one's going to buy Knack at full price. Those other games aren't well known brands either. Everybody's Golf is a great game, but everything from the name and cover makes it look like shovelware.
>Sony on the other hand has so many fucking games.
Fucking KEK
I don't know but it's being published by Microsoft so I would consider it a budget title
They just launched the definitive edition patch they say it fixes a lot of things I am kind of interested in giving this a shot.
>kek
Not a argument
>they say it fixes a lot of things
they exaggerate, I tried it the other day and it's still the same slow, ugly boring game it always was. Framerate is still shit and it still looks like a 360 game.
ms launched with free killer instinct
