Has the best dungeons in the series

>has the best dungeons in the series
>it's the most hated zelda game

really makes you think

>forest temple
>fire temple
>mining facility
>good

its almost like dungeons arent the only thing in the game

It doesn't have the best dungeons in the series, but they are pretty good.

That said, the hate is gets is a bit ridiculous.

>inverse triforce
Was there any significance to that thing at all?

>painful linearity
>repeated areas
>fetch questing
>running around areas without being caught to progress
The pacing is just plain awful but the rest is solid. I still think it's a pretty good game but it's my least favourite of the 3D Zelda's.

It's not the most hated Zelda. Zelda 2 and certain of the handhelds are more hated.

Among the 3D Zeldas it's considered one of the lower-tiered games, but it depends on who you ask.

I don't really get the hate for Zelda 2 beyond the ridiculously brutal difficulty. Never completed it and never will (because of said difficulty), but it's a fun game.

the sand sea and the cistern are the only good things about the entire game

You forgot something

god skyward sword was so fucking ugly

Whatever. She made my pants happy.

tfw I could cream my pants just from her voice and mannerisms. Same with Peatrice, Orielle and Karane

>it's the most hated zelda game

what? the looking-at-at-each-other-means-we're-in-love japanese subplot that went nowhere? that sucked too

It's just so fucking long
and the motion controls just suck ass harder than LJN's accessories

Bullshit. Ancient Cistern was the only one worth writing home about, and sandship was the only one to be actually engaging.

lanayru mining facility was great, redditor

I think Twilight Princess has the best dungeons but Skyward Sword has the most interesting overworld of the 3D games. Yes that includes BotW.

it's hated because at the time the original Zelda took elements from metroid vanias(namely progression with items, rather than statistics and leveling up) and the map system of RPGs(overview map), it was pretty unique, Zelda 2, on the other hand, was a pure metroidvania, people had enough of those, they wanted more of the original.

it's a good game though, aside from a few areas with obtuse progression.

>Zelda cycle
Fuck off SSfags, you have to be 18+ to post on this board

Zelda came out before Metroid from a different team.

SS is by far the most content-packed title of the 3D series, I loved it. I hope the BotW "open air" recipe goes away by 2030. I'll still enjoy open-air but I'd rather have a smaller less realistic world that delivers content at breakneck speed.

I only remember the ship which was good
the others are probably shit

Skyward Sword's overworld is extremely underrated.

BotW, TP and SS are the holy trinity in 3D Zelda overworlds.

I say metroidvania because it's the only name I know for the genre, but there were other games like that.

Hello can I compete on the title of the most hated Zelda game?

Twilight Princess has the best dungeons, though

I liked it. The Temple of the Ocean King was cool because if you learned it well you could shit all over it effortlessly.

Fucking loved the Temple of the Ocean King.

I appreciated this game more after BotW came out and had almost no substantial dungeons.

Majora's Mask is powerful, has wisdom, and courage and don't need no man

I don't know why one triangle is smaller than the others

>mostly play zelda games for the dungeons
>actually like this game for that single reason

It's probably an unintentional effect with the lighting.

Years of YTP have made me love the CD-i games.

how 'bout a [fuck]? for luck?

I can't wait until the Wiibabies grow up.

The only real Zelda cycle is that people will blindly defend their first game until they grow up and quietly accept that it isn't that great.

>first game was ALttP
>favorite is OoT

glad I snapped out of that one!

>implying everyone doesn't love this game now for its historical significance

You mean memes, but yeah.

Probably 99% of the people who know about it haven't played it and never will.

I absolutely fucking despise the motion controls

but you're wrong

>painful linearity
the areas are anything but
>repeated areas
not an issue with that level of alterations in them
>fetch questing
as if that'd be the first or last time Zeldas do this
>running around areas without being caught to progress
not an issue

>people hate the motion controls
Is this because they're uncoordinated? I had no problem with them, and as a result had a great time with SS. It felt damn near 1:1 swordplay

the motion controls are the reason I loved the game so much. SS is my favorite zelda since the motion controls make it feel like you're really link. idk why people shit on it

None of my friends are particularly fond of their first Zelda game.

I liked it.

because dungeons arn't very important in zelda

the three best zelda games are majora's mask, breath of the wild, and wind waker. All three of these have the least focus on dungeons and more on the overworld

>MM, Botw, and WW

opinion discarded. Go back to your open world memes in your other threads. This is about zeldas with dungeons. Good dungeons.

how about you eat shit retard, zelda started as open world and the focus on it in future games is what made those 3 the best. Blindly hating open world games because of incomplete games like FFXV/MGSV and years AAA shat out games is fucking retarded. I can tell you Mira from Xenoblade X has better design than any zelda game, including BotW which the same company worked on.

>zelda started as open world
No it didnt. It was always a linear adventure game. Stop listening to stupid journalists who have problems doing simple jump + air dashes.

*yearly

There seems to be two types of Zelda fans. The ones who love dungeons and the ones who love the overworld. I'm still waiting for a Zelda game that does both well.
Oh wait, there is a Zelda game like that. It's called Link to the fucking Past.

>zelda 1
>linear adventure game

Spotted the OoTfaggot. And you think you can discredit anyone else's opinion? fuck off

yup LttP is fucking great, best 2D zelda. I still prefer more focus on overworld though

you're a retard

>It was always a linear adventure game

t. ocarina of time was my first zelda. Actually I can't even say that, OoT had non-linearity to it as well

>get proven wrong
>lash out like an idiot

nice job

youre a retard

Motion controls pretty much mandate that the game run at a smooth 60 fps to feel responsive and "right"
Skyward Sword runs at 30 fps

Compare and contrast Skyward Sword to the Zelda minigame in Nintendo Land. Even though both game use the same motion plus technology, the Nintendo Land game feels much better due to the higher frame rate.

>BotW and MM
>great everything except dungeons

>SS
>great dungeons and shit everything else

wow it's almost like dungeons don't matter very much

>SS
>has the best dungeons in the series
What the fuck man

>Oh wait, there is a Zelda game like that.

Yeah, it's the one the thread is about.
Or maybe Link's Awakening, if you're talking 2D. Take your pick.
