The presentation is great especially for the big fights, but pretty much only the major events and scenes are adapted so you miss out on a lot of the smaller details and things that were going on on the side. Bit if you only care about the central storyline the games are fine. Kishimoto himself said he thought the games were the best way to enjoy the story.

The way I described to a friend who was interested in Naruto is that watching the anime is like reading the LotR books (yes I know about manga but who the fuck likes to read) and playing the games is like watching the movies.

The recent Storm 4 game totally fucked it up though. 99% of the story mode was anime stills.

It's actually surprisingly good. starts in media res then flings you back to joining the academy/the chuunin exam arc depending on if you're watching the anime or reading the manga, respectively.

Anime has more about boruto learning to utilize his doujutsu (a unique power that's not the byakugan, but has similar god-like tendencies to the rinnegan).
It's got a good balance of wildly powerful retard shit like the end of shippuden, and the fun childhood slice of life nonsense that made naruto's early seasons so fun.

The newest chapter of the manga references a cult-like group that work with the curse seal equivalent stamped onto boruto's hand, planted there BY the ayylmao, but so far, no, the kaguyas are dead. I think that was just to give everyone that closure like "yeah naruto's not shit, sasuke's still a badass, now it's boruto's time to shine". The first arc of the manga was about a protection mission where boruto fights against some big hulking cannibal dude. It's really good. The anime is going through the academy and fighting off demon-possessed people (including shino, which is a badass fight, would absolutely recommend).

I'd say give it a shot. The manga and anime are pretty much entirely separated right now, so give it a try if you have an hour to spare one day. read through 5 or 6 chapters and then watch the first couple episodes of the anime.

Sup Forums is actually one of the places I see it discussed the least. The war boosted it being discussed a bit but otherwise, just from all over the internet.

A lot of people shit on it but it's still one of the most popular anime/manga in the West. The "haters" just happen to be very vocal.

Some parts it did better and some parts it did worse.

I dunno overall I think it's been widely accepted as mediocre with some great high points and good characters, even people I know who used to be fanatical about it say that overall it has some terrible writing now that they look at it in retrospect.

Storm 1 is pretty much like MGSV. You do a story mission every 10 missions that feel like they are all side quests with mini games. Zabuza fight is also not present in Storm 1. Ultimate Ninja 3 is better in terms of story

Storm 1 just gives you the story in mission form with practically no cutscenes until the third chapter. It's all told in the fucking loading screens. You don't even fight the whole Sound Four, it's just Kimimaro five times with the Sound Four as support. The fucking Ubisoft game managed more than this. There's also no Land of Waves arc which is one of the most popular in the series. I don't know who directed Storm 1 but they were absolutely beyond retarded.
I liked the Ultimate Nina ones. I was kind of annoyed when they changed to the 3D battles that all felt exactly the same.

QTEs aren't involved anymore, less real boss fights, half the story mode is a bunch of stills ripped from the anime, no proper overworld stuff like 2 and 3 except for postgame. like sure if you just want to cut to all the fighting and prefer wobbly low quality anime stills to full in-engine cutscenes it's probably a better experience, but you miss out on shit like pregnant woman walking simulator and there are no boss fights on par with 2 or 3's

i liked isaribi and if movie girls count sara and koyuki were good. as for the rest of the konoha 11 i try not to conflate stuff that happened in filler with their actual characterization. then i'd need to admit dumb shit like asura and indra flashback arc was real

Naruto is a trash series and the only reason the side characters seem 'so good' is an illusion due to how bad the MCs are that any comparison works wonders in the side character's favour.

Naruto has themes that are forgotten in today's post-modern atmosphere. It has a wide cast of side characters that are at least partially fleshed out. The villains have real motivations. Also, the fighting is varied and interesting because there is multiple-layers to the system of combat that the magic martial arts creates. There is a lot of possibilities for how a fight progresses.
