Kinect and stupid unnecessary obstacles like pre-owned fee (that was removed after the damage was done)
They were too early. In 15 years every console will be doing the shit they originally planned.
everything.
It's a console
Literally everything
hardware sucked
games sucked all got ported to PC and got bad reviews
marketing was devastatingly bad
sold like absolute shit
is remebered like shit
still considered a boot-leg playstation worldwide and cant even beat Nintendo in it's own market
is owned by the most cancerous and anti-consumer company in gaming right now
Everything.
It only has Halo.
no power button
don't forger gears of war
That game literally has a port on PC already.
>we want the NSA surveillance audience
no Knack 2
Lots of initial fuckups when it launched
>$100 higher pricetag than PS4
>forced kinect
>DRM scandal hurt the brand name for consumers even though they backed out of it
>Graphics weaker than PS4
>Original model is big, clunky, and ugly compared to original PS4 model
They shot themselves in the foot at e3. The forced kinect integration and attempt to remove used games was enough to make even normalfags wait for the ps4 to jump ship.
>When the PS3's fuck up cost Sony 3 years before Demon's Souls and Uncharted 2 started fixing everything
>When the Xbox One's still fucked and they don't know how to fix it
I mean, PS3 ended up selling above 85 million. As did the Xbox 360. The PS4 is at 70 million and Xbox One is under 20 million. Just put that into perspective.
I'm happy with mine
Bringing it a year later on the Yuripean market killed it. Everyone had already a PS4. There must be more Switches than Xbones by now in Yurip.
Well done Microsoft.
>consoles
>still existing in 15 years
that's a good one my guy
Fuking kek
- underpowered
- overpriced
- mandatory Orwellian shit in your house
- DRM
- hubris
- Mattrick
- fucking terrible reveal
- emphasis on TV
- no emphasis on games
The Bone S fixed every problem and the Bone X will finally BTFO Pony Country.
nothing. they've sold nearly 40m which is a great success compared to the likes of the wii u which sold barely 15m. just because the ps4 has sold nearly double doesn't mean this is a failure. the whole gtx nvidia series outsold the ps4 by like 5:1 but that didn't mean the ps4 was a failure compared to pc gaming.
gtx 900 series*
>they've sold nearly 40m
No, they say they've shipped 30m, and MS stopped telling its investors how many units have actually been sold years ago. Gamestop and EA estimated it was only around 14-16m sold-through when MS was claiming 24m shipped. It's sold considerably less than 40m, you're delusional, millions upon millions are rotting on shelves and in warehouses, they've discontinued the base model.
vgchartz.com
i'm sorry if it triggers you but even analysts are estimating over 30m sales unlike your "14-16m".
>tfw scorpio day one buy
feels good my man
>Shipped
Not sold.
>i'm sorry if it triggers you but even analysts are estimating over 30m sales unlike your "14-16m".
I said 14-16m when MS claimed 24m, which was sometime last year, you fucking moron.
The title of your article also says "estimated" which is what I fucking said, MS stopped telling us their actual sold-through numbers years ago. And what happened to 40m? You can't even keep your shit straight, sweetie.
>Microsoft's eighth generation home console, the Xbox One, has surpassed 30 million units sold worldwide, according to our estimates.
>has surpassed 30 million units sold worldwide
>30 million units sold worldwide
>30 million units sold
>not even including the 5m xbox one scorpio pre-orders
nearly 40m, as i clearly said. within a year it will hit 40m
pretty much everything
>There have also been 194,218,035 games sold for the Xbox One at retail.
8th gen confirmed for no fucking games, this is low.
The Wii sold almost 900 million units in about six years, for comparison, and people say that had no games and that software sold like shit after the first two years. The has PS4 sold 400m units of software, which is also less than the Wii relative to its install base.
>shipped
>estimates
Again, Microsoft stopped telling the world how many Xbox Ones they've actually sold a good two years ago.
The shitty reveal is what killed it. Microsoft burned their Xbros so badly the majority jumped ship to PS4 and never looked back not matter what backtracking happened afterwards.
To add, the original Xbox sold about 191m units of software on 24m consoles, 8th gen is just fucking sad.
DUDE REMASTERS LMAO is this gen'a motto.
That's kind of upsetting.
To be fair, the Wii has innumerable amounts of shovelware.
And its because AAA story-games striving for visual realism became the norm. Budgets just keep getting higher while the games and consoles sell fewer units so now we get remasters and microtransactions to make up for it.
on top of the shitty ass reveal, they thought they could get by this gen with just halo, gears, and forza, because that seemed to work in the last few years of the 360. they stopped getting weird but good niche games like they did on the OG xbox, and they stopped getting things like big name JRPGs like they did on 360.
Don't mind me just practicing spoiler tag. dodododo
360 and PS3 each sold almost 1 billion games, so that's not really an excuse. 8th gen is just shit, and largely outside of indies, some Japanese games, and a few western exceptions is creatively bankrupt.
>why did nobody buy the console of the manufacturer that completely abandoned the last one halfway trough
THIS IS A HARD ONE OP
Don't you want an other shooter? How about lasers!
...
I stupidly bought one year one because I always have to have the shiny new thing.
I just use it to play Halo and backwards compat 360 games that don't have PC ports.
Embarrassing launch + contempt for your customers + no games = Xbone
>I just use it to play Halo
I'm so sorry
>pre-packaged kinect
The waggle fad was over and nobody at Microsoft noticed?
The same shit happened with the Wii U tablet. Terrible hardware decisions costing billions.
Also where are the fucking exclusives? Atleast Wii U had those
>sold like absolute shit
It's the fastest selling Xbox though
Microsoft actually pulled off the biggest success followed by the biggest downfall in a very short time.
>PS2 sales = 140 mil vs. XBox sales = 20 mil
>PS3 sales = 85 mil vs Xbox 360 sales = 84.5 mil
Holy shit, look how they closed the gap (even with RROD). How can they fuck this up
>"You need to be online always!" "No more trading in games!" "You're gonna pay for Kinect and love it, it's ESSENTIAL to the system!"
>PS4 sames = 70 million vs. XBox One sales = not even reporting them anymore
>It's the fastest selling Xbox though
This has no direct correlation with lifetime sold-through totals. It could be the fastest selling and still sell the fewest total units.
>PC's existing in 15 years
Desktops are already starting to disappear. Tablets and smartphones are slowly replacing PC's.
Cool, the post wasn't about lifetime sales
In fairness PS4 is at 61m or something like that, not 70m. 8th gen is just a big drop-off from 7th, 6th and even 5th gen.
I don't have a PC or laptop anymore. Don't need it.
>"it sold like shit"
>not about total sales
okay.
Is this hard for you to understand? Im phoneposting so I'm not gonna lay it out for you, brainlet
Crackdown 3 was the reason i bought a bone and now its been downgraded to 360 tier graphics and is looking to be worse than 2
instead of making a new console, why not make BETTER GAMES
3rd console is always the worst
Okay sweetie, mom will have your tendies ready in front of your keyboard when you get home so I'll await your reply :3
Cuz PS4, Xbone, and Nintendo have to compete against smartphones. What will surprise people is how the drop off will happen. I think dates are needed for people to consider it.
2001 PS2, GC, Xbox comes out
5/6 year gap
2005/2006 PS3 and X360 come out
7 year gap
2013 PS4 and X1 come out
6 year gap
2018 PS5 and X2 come out
The PS4 and X1 aren't going to last long, they're outdated mobile processor tech. The people who were super mad that the PS3/360 were so old, they all wanted a new console so badly. And they kept buying next generation, but that market has been tapped out. The amount of people SO starved for PS4/X1 is going to drop off. And casuals don't care anymore like they did with the PS2 era since smartphones and other distractions exist.
Most people don't use them now. Kids are all using smartphones or tablets. No one fucking buys desktops at all anymore.
>Shit hardware.
>No games.
>599US dollars.
>Forced spyware.
>Super bad reputation from the reveal.
>Made by holier than thou, ultra liberal SJW cucks.
Nuke SanFran 1000 times.
Consoles and publishers also tried too hard to appeal to and grab as wide and audience as possible, budgets went up because AAA story-driven games with realistic visuals were what the widest audience wanted and now retention of those players is slipping big time while hobbyists are increasingly being turned off.
But don't worry! Mobile-like business models applied to games like Overwatch will save us!
im thankful it launched so badly, i mamaged to buy the slim one for like 120 bucks and i use it for all my favourite normiecore games
this. You don't give a shit about niche genres, i don't give a shit about your new xbone.
Go away ColtEastwood.
