So, before the inevitable (or not) MMORPG of pic related, what are some good games about exploring unknown depths and recovering ancient artifacts of times long gone?
Darkest Dungeon comes to mind, especially with mods that add more items, like Pitch Black.
What else?
So, before the inevitable (or not) MMORPG of pic related...

What a terrible idea, the feeling of isolation and danger would just disappear, it would be much better as a proper dungeon crawler. Which is a nice recommendation for what you want, try to play some good dungeon crawlers.
This shit's too moe for me
my.mixtape.moe
>town built next to a labyrinth, whose entire economy is based on it
>labyrinth has multiple sub-sections and is filled with bizarre monsters
>powerful beasts that can slaughter an entire part are common
>in the deeper levels are intelligent, non-human species
>lolis
LITERALLY Etrian Odyssey
>MMORPG
Surely you mean a F2P always-online mobile game filled to the brim with timers.
You'll hate me for this but Dark Souls had some great vertical exploration. It even had an abyss at the bottom.
does etrian odyssey make it very clear the artist has a watersports fetish
>that part where they show the shota's gallon+ of piss flowing through a catheter
come
on
now
Yes actually.
Watersports is underutilized in Japan.
Only the worst of the worst no lifers care about MMOs anymore.
And in today's economy parents cant support no lifers anymore.
And the same are not having children which means in the future there will be less no lifers.
MMOS are getting replaced by normal online games.
Be it Mobas or Shooters or TGC.
Games that offer the same fun of a MMO wo having to invest 100 hours in it just to get to the fun part but instead offer you the fun part in the first hour and for the rest of the 100 hours.
Dunno about watersports, but the artist definitely loves the loli. And the oppai too, recently. It's been nice having both.
this. if a MIA dungeon crawler is made, I'll buy it immediately
Holy shit.
Jesus christ
fucking casuals
This fotm is literally an Etrian Odyssey series rip-off. Down to the lolis.
Play EO3 for a small island nation fueled by the explorers of an underwater labyrinth specifically.
Wait until you meet Mitty
Careful, or you will be strung naked.
This is actually mild compared to later events that occur in the manga. If this scene has anyone interested in picking up the anime, do so, but also better yourself in reading the source material. It is terribly wonderful.
>tfw waiting for the newchapter of the manga
Hopefully soon, it was just getting really interesting again.
So we can all agree that the game is Etrian Odyssey, but which EO is the best?
EO thread?
What party are you guys using in V? I'll probably go with Fencer, Dragoon, Masurao, Wizard and Necrololi, but I'll have to read up on their abilities again.
>edgefags spoiling everything about the series
That looks so fucking stupid. I have no desire to read this anymore thanks to the fanbase acting like a bunch of children playing MK for the first time. I got memed into watching Re:Zero by Sup Forums once, a series that depends on shock value to be relevant is ought to be shit.
ok
>missing out on puffy loli tiddies
Pic related. Rolling Dragoon with a team of shaman, herbalist and hound, three cutes and a dog for maximum cuddling.
I dont care about the shock value.
I just want my best waifu.
is this better or worse than steinsgate or am i just a retard for liking steinsgate
I'll be using the same team, but probably a harbinger over fencer.
Why would liking S;G make you a retard?
>is an adventure seinen better than a time-travel drama
They're completely different genres.
Rezero is good though.
I think I will use a party of Fencer, Pugilist, Necromancer, Botanist and Rover.
why does that matter Love Hina and DBZ are two different genres but DBZ is a better anime regardless
How would finding artifacts work as a game mechanic? It'd be boring to find all this stuff just to sell it, so maybe unique upgrades, Metroidvania style?
Thought about this, too. Memes aside, it really can be a grand adventure.
Etrian Oddysey looks great, thanks for recommendations.
And thank god for emulators.
