The front door was wide open to begin with. There was a truck blocking the path to the village and it was illegally parked. Leon also wasn't even in a town or city yet. He was in the middle of the woods where there's wolves and other wild animals. Even with guns drawn; two S.T.A.R.S. teams lost people in the middle of the woods.
