FUCK TITANIC MONARCH
FUCK TITANIC MONARCH
No. Fuck you leather man
titanic monarch becoming better on every playthrough is not a meme
at first it's a mess of a stage, but then you just get it
Titanic Monarch Zone Act 2 is my favorite level in the game.
Those orbs you roll around are annoying, and the controls for it are not self-explanatory.
What problems are there with the orbs?
What they're great. I thought it was a shame they didn't have my favorite bonus stage from 3&K until that zone
Finished first play
Fun/2017
Time Over
>Last time a played a Sonic game was Sonic 3 like 20 years ago.
>Never finished a Sonic game. I was kinda bad at it.
>Decides to try Mania
>It's awesome. Actually beat it in one sit. No game overs.
>All this kids complaining about being too hard
Seriously? As a Sonic player i'm casual as you can get and the difficulty in this is fine. Are millennials that bad at videogames?
>not self-explanatory.
You literally did the same thing in Lava Reef act 2
Last time i played*
All these kids*
They might be too used to the boost games, which require little "skill" to play through normally
Unleashed can get pretty hard by the end, no one with any kind of Sonic experience should had that much trouble with Mania
...Is what i'd like to say, but then there's shitters like Ted from Brainscratch comms so... I dunno man, the world works in a mysterious way
I've heard Unleashed actually has very good Sonic levels, with the werehog levels bringing the game down.
It's not too hard.
Titanic Monarch is just a shit level. You'll get crushed plenty of times accidentally.
Some of the earlier levels are a bit on the automatic side, but yeah they're pretty good, the Unleashed Mod for Generations is totally worth it
Unironically my favorite level to speedrun desu.
Anyone have a download for the OST?
Its fucking easy.
I do
It's really fun to replay. Screwing in Time Attack really helps appreciate some design elements more imo
Metallic Madness can go suck a bag of dicks however
Yeah, no, fuck off mate
Metallic Madness is pure kino
YOU FUCKING SUCK IT'S THE BEST STAGE EVER. Going under 3 minutes in time attack is so fun.
C'mon man, ask me for the link! Otherwise my search through my history would've been for naught
Can you upload it?
YES! I can upload it sir!
*uploads it*
There you go mega.nz
Worst music in any sonic game.
Does not feel sonic in any way at all. Awful way to end an otherwise great game.
danke
Thanks senpai
MM would be perfectly fine if it wasn't for Pic Related's existence.
>push jump
>you jump off from the point you're on
>push up
>nothing
>push down
>nothing
>push left or right
>sonic moves
What more explanation do you need than what basic problem solving and button pressing divulges?
>I WANT TO FUCK TITANIC MONARCH
fixed
>not being millennial
>still play videogames
jesus chirst dude, get a live
did you even fucking play S3&K?
next he´s gonna complain about the barrel in CNZ
TM was solid besides a fair amount of crushing if you weren't careful
It takes like two maybe three orbs to get used to using them if you're not 8 or a game journalist
Stop doing that. Playing the previous games in a series should never be a prerequisite for understanding the mechanics of the sequel. That's just bad, intuitive game design.
That said, the orbs in TTMZA2 are easy as fuck to figure out so that's not an issue here, he's just retarded.
The actual obstacles are pretty fun but some of the little shits there are insufferable
The bombs and the chainsaw fuckers in particular are obnoxious
Can't wait to see what kind of playstyle they give him as the fourth character in Mania 2.
>a literal who instead of metal sonic/amy
Sorry man, it's already confirmed.
The beginning of Act 1 even has a specific area that you can't pass through and do the rest of the level without passing this sphere, and failure instantly bumps you back to it. Lava Reef Act 2 also has a similar obstacle. The people who say the spheres are "unintuitive" probably just mash their way through without thinking.
>Amy
Who? Were they in Mania?
Well actually, _it was
Metal and Amy are literally more confirmed than Fang is.
He's being Coy. She wasn't called Amy back in CD.
Yes she was. She was always Amy Rose in Japan.
The American CD manual called her Princess Sally. And then the spinoffs gave her the nickname Rosy the Rascal.
>millennials
people were always bad, in all time periods
see: pic
Why does Metallic Madness get better every time I play it and Lava Reef gets worse?
This is a false flag to get people to talk about Sonic 3's barrel of doom.
Mania "included" her in the best possible way. A little doll that's ultimately just a joke about how annoying she is.
The Japanese Sonic CD manual gave her the nickname Rosy the Rascal.
That barrel is genuinley bad game design though, the orbs in Titanic Monarch are fine since there's immediate feedback to how they work and the whole "sling shot" off of them makes sense.
The barrel has extremely delayed feedback that you only really notice until you hit up and down a few times and they make the player believe that jumping is the only solution to them since that makes logical sense and gives immediate feedback to the player.
If you honestly defend the barrel you don't understand what good game design is.
>genuinley bad
the only on thing genuinely bad here is (You)
I swear it bugged first time playing it. I did two of the hub side rooms and came back and all 4 were open. I thought it was some weird maze at first and timed out.
Also Press Garden 1 is kinda shit with the conveyor belts since it the frame window to jump off of them is so tight
Not an argument, but it's neat that you don't understand entry level game design when you frequent a video game board.
>giving him (You)s
Fuck off.
Knuckles makes the bosses better but the levels worse.
>M
>A
>both have Sonic sprites
Even a proof-of-concept typically has some rough sprites to go with it, like the love-tester in Studiopolis that they ultimately decided they didn't want. Not a single sprite or image of Amy is in the game's files, though. Even the Blue Spheres Chaos Emeralds and Super Emeralds were redrawn from scratch for Mania. It seems unlikely, but perhaps "M" and "A" represent something that isn't relevant to the characters, unlike "T" and "K". I'd like to see someone that worked on the game explain this. If they did plan Mighty and Amy, I wonder why they were cut before they even made a single graphic for them?
>Not an argument
...
Metal and Amy were probably scrapped very early on and Sonic's signpost is most likely the default template.
I beat Titanic Monarch as easily as I did every other piss-easy zone in the game. Git gud.
As a kid I thought you had to time jumps to get it low enough to quickly jump down and off of. It's kinda my fault because you can get down low enough to see the invincibility box but I never passed it because Tails would always jump on the barrel and fuck it up.
Also the spinning thing in Mushroom Hill where you have to time your jump. I had the PC port as a kid which ran 2x faster than normal so it was hard to get the right angle. I beat the game as knuckles before I beat it as sonic.
Jesus, are you actually underageb&? Who "responds" like this?
>Amy
Does Amy even have a sprite in Sonic Mania?
>"u-underage!"
embarrassing
It takes 2 minutes to make a quick unshaded sprite drawing for a goal post. Were they scrapped 2 minutes into development?
>try to discuss games on Sup Forums
>get reaction images to short, logical posts
Ew.
>As a kid I thought you had to time jumps to get it low enough to quickly jump down and off of
Same, I got there as Sonic once with a bubble sheild and using it I managed to get past the goddamn thing. It wasn't until way later that I figured out the whole "push up and down" thing. It's laughable how many people try to defend that when not a single one has a good argument for it.
>I had the PC port as a kid which ran 2x faster than normal so it was hard to get the right angle
Shit, I had no idea, I remember that being a pain in the ass on the Genesis version too though. I think it just moves pretty fast and the angle you want to hit has a small time gap.
Millennials are the ones who grew up with the original games, you might be thinking of Gen Z.
Where dies the game tell you that pressing up and down moves the barrel?
As it's written in the manual
Rosy the Rascal
Real Name: Amy Rose
She was still called Amy in Japanese CD
MEMES
>Press up
>it moves up
Ohshiiiiiiit.
Why is the Super Sonic boss so difficult?
it isn't. it's badly designed. the new moves you get in this level are actually less useful than attacking normally.
stay on the ground
>People actually got a Game Over or a Time Over in Sonic Mania
No, TMZ does not become a better stage. It becomes a lot more sensible to traverse and I'll admit I hate it a lot less than on my first run, but its still very poorly designed.
Metallic Madness is the true turnabout stage, learning the fast routes is tits.
I know.
THIS. Anyone that did either needs to turn in their gamer card. Mania is easier than any of the Genesis games and I've played those to death. Almost as easy as CD.
>It's laughable how many people try to defend that when not a single one has a good argument for it.
The argument is having more than 2 digits in your IQ
Absolutely nowhere.
And that's the problem.
I got time overs only because I was exploring
I love it
I don't understand what you mean. You talking about those electic-like balls that make Sonic bounce?? I was able to tell how those worked when I was 5 years old.
Same place where the game tells you how to move, jump or SpinDash, the manual.
>gamer card
He's big and thick and metallic so...
TMZ had great music what? How was it out of place?
>gamer card
Bruh
not an argument
The aesthetic was top tier but the actual level was just Carnival Night 2.0.
Enemies are fucking bullshit in that zone, but the gimmicks were some of the coolest in the entire game.
>Oh hey that hornet enemy is in the background. That's pretty neat touch
How has it been confirmed?
Slingerland is working on it.
Hmmm I was prety sure I discovered it there. Maybe on the 3&K manual?
Who?
reminder if you are born in the 90s you are a millennial aswell
